If a "private prayer language"is scriptural,then where is the book and verse?  I'll give you one to consider:1Corinthians 14:10-11"There are,it may be,so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me."If you are praying in unintelligible jibberish,then you dont know what you are saying and neither does God.Paul said he prayed with the spirit and with the understanding.The two are not exclusive.  There is absolutely no evidence that any apostle or disciple ever prayed in an unknown language either publicly or privately.And when they were filled with the (REAL)Holy Spirit,the Bible says they preached the Word "boldly"and with power.Three thousand got saved on the day of Pentecost when the disciples(about120 of them)spoke with "other tongues"(not unknown tongues)and Peter(was he filled with the Spirit?)preached in a KNOWN language I suppose that if he had preached lsdifj eidius dooiskdup ddiosky ddsyoielksjd jdsl jd s jdikekd kididi akddid dikd ksieepw and dj ieekd diddiis kdkelikdf l;aie d a uudoe dsoek then more would have been saved.    |

Why do all the unknown tongue talkers want to infect other churches with their heresy?  Someone gets "in his(or her mostly)closet"and goes berserk and claims it is a "prayer language"given by the Holy Spirit? Just go and join those who believe that junk! And again(and again and again and again and again)LET THE BIBLE determine the doctrine  Is "prayer language" found in the Bible?If so,where? I can only find people praying in known languages(Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane for example)in the Bible.  I have a challenge:I have some crippled,paralyzed,cancer stricken,blind,and deformed friends that I would sure like to see healed.If some of you superduper "filled with the spirit"prophets,apostles,etc.can heal just one of them,I will give you 5,000 dollars And even better than that,James Randi has 1,000,000 dollars in a N.Y.bank for the same person.Jesus,Paul,Peter all healed all that were brought to them.So lets dont try this ole"sorry,YOU dont have enough faith"excuse. They healed them ALL If you cant,then dont claim the "gift" And just so you can stay in practice the hospitals are full,you can find them in nursing homes,hospice houses,and even struggling to get around in the mall.Get busy! |

Why assume that Paul spoke in some unknown gibberish because he spoke "with tongues more than ye all."The apostle Paul spoke at least 5 languages other than his native tongue. I am still waiting for some of you jibber-jabberers to explain the points I made in my earlier post.(1-18-07)Namely:The Bible is our authority.Not feelings or emotions or what "Rev."so and so said.I had 4 points from 1Corinthians 14 that I would really like to see explained.That should be interesting  (1.)Have an interpreter BEFORE speaking,(2.)No more than three to speak,(3.)Speak one at a time,(4.)NO women to speak! At any time! I wonder if the tongue-talkers really care what the Bible says about anything? I believe that if the Holy Spirit was in this,we would have evidence through out Christian history,rather than just the last 100 or so years.And why cant we find one of their most used quotes:"filled with the spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues"in the Bible? Well,mainly because it is NOT there!And if "miracles"are still valid,then what about "raise the dead"?And why arent you doing them? And lastly,why emphasize the Holy Ghost when the HOlY Ghost emphasizes JESUS |

There are NO unknown "tongues"in the entire book of Acts The only place in the New Testament that "unknown tongues" is found is in 1Corinthians 14(6 times).When tongues are mentioned in Acts it is when at least two language groups are present.Nothing to indicate any such jibberjabber as goes on today.Also, there are only three places(NOT"all thru the book of Acts"to chapter 20)that tongues are mentioned and that is chapters 2,10,and 19. Tongues simply means languages Stop trying to make speaking in "other tongues"any more than the Bible does and that is speaking in a language other than your native tongue. I am sure that the modern "unknown tongues"of today give a boost to the old pride,but it cannot be upheld by any honest examination of the Bible.No tongue-talking groups that I am familiar with follow the Bible guidelines given in 1Cor.14. 1.Have an interpreter BEFORE speaking,2.No more than three to speak,3.Speak one at a time,4.No women are allowed to speak!Anytime! The Bible is the authority for Christians,not feelings or experiences or twisting scriptures Every gift of the Holy Spirit has a useful purpose and a function that edifies the body of Christ.Jibber-jabber does not.Filled with the Spirit does! |

Just a few questions:If Islam is a mostly peaceful religion,where are the mostly peaceful practitioners? Where is the outcry against the Jihadists? Why is there a powerful movement in America and worldwide to try to justify the terrorism and murder of innocents by cowardly sneak bombers(blowing up children,old people,women!!Real Heroes,right?)? Why is there not marches,protests,mass movements by the so-called "peaceful Muslims"to try to stop the MURDER? Why do they not turn the murderers in? Why do they hide them and keep their plans secret?  Why is there not such an outcry as was found when the sex scandals of the Catholic child abuse and perversion cases came to light? And one statement:If the Bible taught what the Quran does(I have read all of the Bible and quite a bit of the Quran)I would NOT be a Christian,  and since it doesnt I AM a devoted Christian  |

Well,whoopee,we had to have a "study" in our mind numbed,spiritually dead society to tell us that people who listen to garbage act like it We surely have some rocket scientists here Anyone who would listen to that trash just reveals who and what they are. To know that we have sold our young people out to hoodlums and scum like the rock and rap stars of today just makes my heart ache.  And worse than that our churches have also bought into that garbage.Just get a good dance band,dress like a beach bum,throw out every part of the Bible that tells us how to please God instead of ourselves,and promote the "feelgood",positive thinking cotton-candy religion so well liked today,and you can fill a building with hypocrites and your pocket with money. Think about it.Get 20,000 to 30,000 people to just give a tip(not a tithe)of just $1.00 and rake in thousands each week,meeting once a week to have a good time and pretend you are "worshipping"Jesus People had better wake up before they wake up in HELL Jesus said the gate is straight and the road narrow that leads to life,and few there be that find it.The wide gate and the broad road leads to Hell and many go in thereat.It would be wise to listen to HIM |

have been hiding all this from us for years. "They"just dont want us to go to another planet and not pay taxes here for them to steal. Or perhaps "they" are afraid we will put THEM on a space ship to another planet.Do you not see the conspiracy? We need to look at all these films on the internet to get our information.They are all true and accurate to the nth degree.None of the news reports are true.Of course not!They are part of the PLOT,are they not? The two political parties are just as corrupt and need to be replaced by some real donkeys and elephants.We would have better government.America is in grave danger whenever Congress is in session.This Prescription Drug Plan D is a warmed-over Hissary Clinton plan to make the Insurance companies,drug companies,and politicians richer and us poorer.Why does this have to come through Ins.Cos?
We already had Medicare/Medicaid in place.Why not just do it through them? The answer is,of course,NO MONEY for the Big SH_ts Big Brother and my rich uncleSam is breaking me And I see no hope in getting back to Constitutional government |

Wow,it seems to be a lot more unbelievable that some group of people somewhere who wanted to collapse three buildings and already had the explosives set and ready would not just blow them and blame it on a few Arab Muslims.It surely would be easier than commandeering four airplanes(one of which apparently missed its target)and then detonating the explosives at precisely the right moment.And what about the Pentagon? Was that just a botched implosion?Or did the Muslims just decide that they were being used by the "infidels"and back out?I think the twin towers and bldg 7 are still there.YesSirree And the democrats used David Copperfield and his mirrors and smoke,then swore all the people who work there to secrecy or else they will be given to Bush to torment and torture till they learn obedience. HaveYouNotRead hit the nail on the head Not only is homosexuality condemned by the Bible, but a woman being a bishop is also. You could read,show,refer them to a hundred scriptures and they would not even blink,because the"god of this world hath blinded the minds"(2Cor.4:4)of them that believe not 1Tim.3clearly defines the office of a bishop as gender specific, and that gender is Male"If a man..husband of one wife..ruling well his own house..having his children..if a man know not..rule his own house..how shall he..he fall..he must have..lest he fall" So if she doesnt obey this,why should we expect her(and others like her)to obey anything else? This sin should be repented of and rejected like any other sin.I was born a normal"redblooded"American male,but that does not give me a right to whore around with every female I can find, does it? Where did these religious infidels get the idea that we have some kind of "right"to sexual expression in the first place? God limited sexual expression to that between a man and his WIFE not his girlfriend or his friend. God made Adam and Eve and quit,NOT Adam and Eve and It. Tongues(languages)are useful for communication.Tongues(jibberjabber,blabbering,jibberish,etc.)are useful for nothing but to exalt self,give a false sense of spirituality,and grieve the Holy Ghost It also seems to puff up the old PRIDE The tongues(languages)at Pentecost(Acts2)were not unknown,but "other" tongues(languages) that were understood by people who spoke 17 different tongues(languages).In every instance in the N.T.where God gave tongues(languages)they were never jibberish,but known languages(tongues) and always had at least two language(tongue)groups present.Never once in the Bible is such jibber-jabber used if only one language(tongue)group was present,not ever Not even at Corinth,which was a center of world trade and had tongue(language)groups present from all the known world.Paul,the Apostle,could speak at least 5 languages(tongues),so of course he spoke"with tongues more than ye all"and when he prayed,he prayed in the spirit and he understood what he was saying.I would not "forbid to speak with tongues"at Old Paths Baptist Church if there were two tongue(language)groups present. And if it were done with an interpreter so that everyone could listen and learn from scriptural speaking.But jibberish?NO |
