They were part of a church group who had left their homes in California to start a school in Kentucky. When they decided to marry, they went and got a marriage license. However, after they had gotten it, they realized that they had a limited amount of time to get married and that their pastor - who was enroute to Kentucky - would not arrive before the license expired. My grandparents went to the justice of the peace and got married, but they did not live together as husband and wife until their pastor arrived and they were able to be married in a Christian ceremony. They never celebrated their marriage on the "legal" date, but on the day that the pastor married them.
Rodney K. I like your story very much and I wouldn't be surprised if something very similar happens to me in principle. If so, I am going to make sure we wait for the church wedding before certain things happen as a result of a civil wedding.

Personally I loved Chuck Berry's rendition of Amazing Grace a lot.
Mind you Dopey went and spoiled the song for me when he suggested the song was actually about a woman named Grace. Now I'm not so keen on Chuck Berry's version of Amazing Grace.

How different from the fellowship of true believers which we enjoyed earlier, despite differences, between Observer, Michael Hranek and myself. ______________________
Dolores is a kind hearted woman who will talk to anyone. Still I would hope that she knows who you really are.
That leaves your fellow Jesuits John Y and SteveR.
Funny that you hold to futurism. Ever heard of ]] Jesuit Francisco Ribera?

Dopey wrote: You are a hoot, you really are I am afraid you can't get away from your foolish claim to be God! The heading reads God's word to Dopey and you wrote the heading thus you are in fact stating you are God
Then every time you write "God" before quoting a verse you are guilty of the same stupid!
Everyone sees you for who you are, except you. Wonder why?
Dopey wrote: I won't bother with the rest of your nonsense Dopey2 as you keep piddling yourself and need to go home and change your piddled underwear.
Sure Dopey, try and mask your claims with ridicule, but let's start with this:
2/20/14 12:49 AM Dopey
"..I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth such an one caught up to the third heaven. (2 Corinthians 12:2)
PBS has not worked out yet a rights agreement with where I dwell: "the third heaven", so I guess I will just have to wait till later to see the video."
Live in the third heaven do you Dopey? Know of anyone else who ever had that experience? But by making that claim you're not claiming equality with the apostle?
What about your ridiculous post of 2/21/14 12:57 PM Dopey to GSTexas, trying to lord it over GSTexas by trying to claim that you understand what "private interpretation" means better than he does and yet you yourself cannot prove any part of your pre-trib rapture tenets.
Dopey is a Dopey does.
Clean up your own mess, and turn the lights out when you leave. C'ya!
Dopey wrote: People beware of false Dopeys (did you hear that Dopey 2?) : But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2 Peter 2:1) Only the Dopey of over 500 comments has received among Dopey commentators his "third heaven" certification for teaching Bible prophecy.
Granted that in the Dopey stakes you have a head lead, but you're delusional if you think that your Dopeyness somehow makes you sounder in the faith or entitles you to a third heaven certificate. Pretty silly Dopey to claim to be equal to the apostle Paul in Christian experience and knowledge. Even Dopey pride is pride that can lead to a fall from Dopeyhood!
If you're counting on a secret rapture to rescue you from your Dopeyness you're going to be sorely disappointed, because it's not going to happen. It's not taught in the Bible. Maybe like Presby you're claiming a special revelation and you find stuff in verses which just aren't there, eh? Now that's real Dopey!
Dopey wrote: 19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye [GSTexas and others] do well that ye [GSTexas and others] take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:19-21) GSTexas , you have given a private interpretation, that is, one of your own concerning a "prophecy of the scripture" written by "holy men of God" that "spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." You are not supposed to do that GSTexas . Do you have something against God and his "holy men of God" that "spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" concerning the prophecy God wanted put in the Bible to demonstrate His glory and love for sinners? Well if you don't have something against Them, why are you giving a "private interpretation"?
Hey, that's a Dopeyer comment than I could ever make! From where I'm sitting the secret pre-trib rapture is YOUR PRIVATE interpretation.
