Watered-down gospel leads away from biblical truth. The days of Noah also were watered down with righteouss judgement from the LORD. Welcome to the days of Noah that Christ spoke upon before His return. Laodicea had Him knocking on the door and today man's imagination is manifested in all their actions and decisions.
To lighten the debate: two biblical scholars were conversing on baptism. One asked the other, "Do you believe in infant baptism?". The other perked up and confidently stated, "not only to I believe it, but I have seen it done!"
Good job, Walt! I especially like how you used one of Abigail's own verses against her. If she would take the time to study the text she would see that Jesus is telling these government employees how to properly do their jobs; don't extort, don't intimidate needlessly, be content. If Jesus wanted them to know that their jobs were sinful He could have very easily said so. However, it's easier to just quote a verse to support our opinions than it is to study the text and let it speak for itself!
