Today the UK should hang its head in shame. The 'Same sex marriage bill' has just started (literally about 90 mins ago) its proceedings through the House of Parliament. There are quite a lot of MPS's who will oppose this bill, sadly there is a large enough majority for it to be passed - unless God in His mercy (or judgement) intervenes. Sadly, the public opinion is approx 60/40 in favour of same sex marriage and this is cited a sufficient reason for this law to be enabled. The government claims there will be a 'quadruple lock' for those churches who will refuse to participate in these 'so-called marriage ceremonies'. However, this is already being challenged under the auspices of the European Human Rights Act. Many of us believe there will be no protection and further persecution will occur. The article re the teachers who may face lose the jobs as a result of opposing same sex marriage is evidence of this. What can be done? Genesis 18 v 23-33 gives us an answer. Abraham ceased not in prayer - even if only 10 righteous could be found in the city. Surely that must be a our priority - prayer, prayer and more prayer. There are many praying in the UK, even as I write this, for God to intervene - please join with us. |

Great Sermon! We need to know we are all one in Christ, separated by time and space but not by spirit, I was so moved and edified by this great sermon, by our great book given to us for the purpose of our understanding, while the world is moving towards destruction, we need always remember we are all one, one God, one savior, one church |

$24.5 million dollars? Are things getting out of proportion here? I can think of many stuggling pastors, missionaries and evangelists who are seeking to preach Christ and yet here we are spending $24.5million on something that only a 'privileged' few will see. Consider for example the words of the Govenor - his main concern is about the 900+ jobs it will create. Now if that were 900 souls saved then that would be worth talking about. I applaud and support the efforts of AiG and their stand on a literal 6 day creation but I am afraid to say this one it is out of order. We would do well to remember the words of our Lord in Luke 16 v 31. Do we think that a very expensive model will do any better than the faithful preaching of His Word? Sorry AiG - let's get back to basics. |

It is a tragic testimony to the current state of the world to witness the garbage that is being poured out over this man's life and death in our papers and over the airways.Death is not a pretty thing whoever it is and the death of an unrepentant sinner is as much to be mourned as the death of a saint - perhaps even more so since at least the death of the righteous leads them on to eternity with God. But how sad that those who claim to mourn find their expression in his 'music' and other trivia that littered his life. Surely this is man's way of sanitising death and trying to put out of their mind the fact that one day they will travel the same road - and - their complete ignorance of the Word of God. My response to anyone speaking to me of his death would be to remind them of our Lord's words in the parable of the Rich Fool in Luke 12 "Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee" and to ask them if they are prepared to stand before their Creator and righteous Judge of all the world - and if not why not? |

In the Church of England there many fine Bible believing, God honouring Christians. Unfortunately the head of the established church, Rowan Williams, is not one of them. Examine his record on Bible inerrancy, homosexuality, or whatever you like and you will find him lacking and this latest comment is not to be unexpected. What grieves me most though is that because of his position the name of my Saviour will be brought into disrepute. His reputations matters nought to me but the name of my Saviour, whom he pretends to represent, does. If this man had anything about him at all he would be preaching the Saviour and His death on the cross and His resurrection and the need for repentance. Where my friends are the Bunyans, Whitfields, Spurgeons and Ryles and countless others who knew nothing but Christ crucified!! For those of you who are not from the UK let me assure you the Lord still has a remnant here, who will faithfully proclaim His name and His wonderful Gospel message to a nation who are 'going to hell in a hand-cart'. |

Quote from the article: "And my sense, after years of examining megachurches, is that 80% of the people who join, including those who go through new member classes, are gone within the first two years." You know the old saying - 'the chickens will come home to roost' Sound Biblical teaching, doctrine and form of worship will always last. The rest is wood, hay and straw. |
