Some thoughts Those that jumped out of the World Trade Center towers because of the intense heat were not technically "committing suicide." Their bodies were experiencing the natural reflex of avoiding extreme heat. They had no time to reflect on: "when thru firey trials my pathway shall lie, Thy grace all sufficient shall be my supply."
Great Sermon! I'm sorry but sometimes a Christian can be so mentally ill (physiologically speaking) that he doesn't know what he's actually doing. Therefore, I would never make the blanket statement that "Christians cannot suicide."
Forgotten doctrine This doctrine is virtually unknown in 90% of today evangelicalism. And yet it's part of the "whole counsel of God." Come on, get with it, preachers!
Great Sermon! Dr. Cairns says, rightly, that baptism is not essential to salvation, but in these 4 minutes does not cover the problem of a professor of Christ who refuses to be baptized even when instructed that Christ commands him to be. "My sheep know my voice, AND THEY FOLLOW ME." If they don't then they have no claim on full Christian assurance.
