2015 theme of “The Christian’s War Against the World”
Where in Scripture are we told to wage war against the world? We are told that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, that it is not against flesh and blood we fight (i.e. political). We are told that Jesus'(our)kingdom is not of this world, but if it were, then we would fight. A direct implication that we are not to fight against this world.
How can they justify their dominionist ambitions by taking a few passages out of context when the Bible overwhelmingly rejects this purpose for the Church?
The Scriptures make clear the hostility of the world towards God's elect but nowhere in Scripture can it be found where the elect are supposed to wage a carnal/political war against the world.
They (the world) are coming after us, to be sure. They will overcome us and kill us but where do they find we are supposed to resist them? Jesus says otherwise.
There is NOW no fence for them to walk on in their effort to be so-called “Christian patriots”. They must admit to an other-worldly Kingdom, one that will be established ONLY by Christ Himself at His return.
Michael Card quote What an appropriate place to repeat that line from Michael Card's song, "God's own Fool".
"So come lose your life for a carpenter's son
For a madman who died for a dream
And you'll have the faith His first followers had
And you'll feel the weight of the beam"
Thank you brother Paul!!
