Powerful Sermon for the chaff and the wheat! Pastor preaches from the perspective that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Pastor spoke of the fact that our Lord Jesus spoke more about hell than heaven during his earthly ministry. Also, that those who are considered the chaff are those who have not been converted and are on there way to hell for an eternity to pay for their sins. Listening to this sermon has increased the urgency in my life to be as faithful as a witness as I possibly can be through God's grace in order to help others to see the light of the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ which sets the captives free from the bondage of sin and Satan. And some have compassion, making a difference. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Spurgeon-like Pastor of Westminster MD A great sermon on the sufficiency of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ! Pastor also gives a good explanation of what it means to be regenerated/born-again/quickened by the Spirit. The basis of our forgiveness is Jesus Christ and we are complete in him. Oh what a relief it is to be enabled by the Spirit to trust in Jesus and his finished work on the cross!
Motivated to shine for Jesus! Been fellowshipping at Calvary Baptist in Westminster MD for 8-months now. Every so often I log onto Sermon Audio to listen to one of Pastor Leaman's messages from before I started fellowshipping at Calvary. I am so blessed to hear God's word faithfully expounded and taught. It truly helps me to fight the good fight of faith and to want to shine for Jesus. However I know that it's really Him shinning through me because I am crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live but Christ who is taking up residence. For the life I now live in this flesh I live by the faith of the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. God forbid I should glory save in the cross of my Lord Jesus Christ. To God be the glory for the great things he has done through the preaching of the gospel. Amen.
