I was beginning to think that there was little or no hope for modern evangelicalism. Never, never, never doubt the sovereignty of God to overturn man's money changing tables |

Oh how wrong can one poor soul be?? In the first place we must remember that Elton is blinded to anything truly spiritual by his unrepentant homosexuality. It is just such deception that makes this poor man think that his desire to ban religion is valid, and achievable. Of course Elton is not speaking of religion in general. It is obvious that his 'bone' is with Christianity in particular. Even though Islam and Judaism are opposed to homosexuality in principle they do not speak with the same authoratative tones as Christianity does. God, in his word (the Holy Bible), utterly condemns sodomy and sodomites out of hand, calling such practices abominable! This is what offends poor Elton so. And why not? For even his conscious has already condemned him for his inordinate lusts despite the fact that he has suppressed it, perhaps irretrievably. It is sad, to the point of weeping, that Elton's rebellion against God and His law has made him hard and spiteful. It is sadder that he thinks that puny, foolish and idolatrous men, symbolized by the likes of John Lennon, could turn the tide and make the world 'safe' for the commiting of gross iniquity. Ah, such is the deceitfulness of sin, affirming putridness, defying God and causing man to believe the Serpent's lie! |
