John UK wrote: If you apply a little logic, you will see it. It is true, yes, that one who is regenerate is saved forever. They cannot be lost. Now if, as Presby says, the man is born again and indwelt by the Spirit while he is dead in his sins, and then he suffers a heart attack and dies before he repents, he is saved without any repentance or faith. Is that clear enough? God can keep the man alive till he believes and repents after all life and death are in the hands of God. |

John UK wrote: Maybe you have not followed the debate for long? The claim has been made that the indwelling of the Spirit is the same as baptism with the Spirit, and that this occurs with the man being totally passive. That is, the Holy Ghost comes to dwell within a bemused sinner against his will. Now if a man that is born again is forever saved, he is saved without believing nor repenting of his sins. See what I mean? It cannot be. God has chosen not to work like that. No I don't see what you mean. No one on this thread has said that a man is saved without believing and repenting. I ask again show us where anyone said this. |
