Not true. The Godly never actually ruled America. Most when compared against scripture were at best unregenerate men who may have had nothing more than some moral character.
[AUTHOR]Strat[/AUTHOR]No surprise, the Godless almost always rule the Godly because the Godly are usually to busy being above it all. The Godly used to rule America, they were not perfect but they did at least uphold some semblance of righteousness, decency and reverence for God,then all the shiny things began to appear and they went chasing after them leaving a void Satan was more than happy to fill.
Matt 26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. 52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. 53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
Jesus Himself teaches that the sword is not necessary when the work of God is being done. He could have called legions of angels to defend Him but demonstrated that it was completely unnecessary because the event was under the power of a sovereign Lord.
When you are about the work of the Lord whether at home or whether in foreign dangerous countries God is your shield buckler and defence. Try trusting in Him.
Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
