'Exception Clause' Destruction Like a thief's cutting torch on a bank vault lock is the "exception clause" (Matthew 19:9) on the bond of holy matrimony. Great message Pastor Swanson! |

normal wrote: Two mums will require the sperm of the male to fertilize the egg, which is THREE and that also is adultery. Good point. Never thought reproductive technology would lead to adultery. The violation of Natural Law -- that is, the violation of "common sense" -- is so common that most Christians never even bat an eye when they hear it. Thus, it's only a matter of time that Disney will have to even cater to our disordered worldview by creating a "gay" character that we can relate to. |

Great Sermon! Will you go away? (a) Many NT Jews would have been stunned to hear Jesus advise them to “eat My flesh and drink My blood” (John 6:53) since this was forbidden by OT law. (b) The large party that heard Jesus require them to “eat My flesh and drink My blood,” “went away and returned no more.” (John 6:66). (c) Though many disciples departed from Jesus, He didn’t beckon them to clarify their understanding of John 6:53. (d) Thus, Jesus was meaning “eat My flesh and drink My blood” (John 6:53) to be understood literally. (e) Isn’t one who also rejects Jesus and won't "eat My flesh and drink My blood," actually denying Christ and losing his life? May we never go away from Christ. Thank you Pastor Eshelman! |

Divorce Scandal: Why Would They Want Christ? Thank you Brother Stewart! Marriage is the universal symbol of Christ’s unfailing devotion to His bride, the Church. However, since studies indicate a 50% divorce rate, even in the Church, isn’t this the collective message to the unbelieving world?:
(A.) Our marriages are no better than yours.
(B.) Our families are destroyed like yours.
(C.) Our Christ has failed us.
(D.) If the "exception clause" (e.g., Matthew 19:9) has been correctly translated, why would the hurting world even want Christ and His Church?
Hasn’t divorce in the church become a scandal even to evangelism and missions?
Blessings In Christ. |

Obedience to Which Version of the Gospel? How does one obey the Gospel, when there's no Evangelical consensus:
"Although known as gospel people, evangelicals no longer share any consensus on the Gospel's meaning."
-Eminent Evangelical Church Historian and author, Dr. Carl Trueman quoted from his book, "The Real Scandal of the Evangelical Mind". Thank you for this message. |

Why doesn't any U.S. denomination own copyright to an English translation? We've given over control of the Bible contents to large corporations? Perhaps the SBC will create its own version, otherwise, a la "1984," corporations will continue to publish new Bibles with "better" (i.e., politically correct) content and obsolete the old. Christ have mercy upon us. |

Great Lesson! 'Exception' Clause Issues Thanks for your concern with the modern "exception" clause (Matt 19:9) interpretation and application. Because the majority of Evangelical leaders interpret the "exception" clause to only be applicable after a wedding, isn't this a leading cause for the divorce tsunami flooding every denomination? By this modern reasoning, when a Christian husband is guilty of sexual immorality (pornea) because of Internet pornography use, wouldn't it follow that his Christian wife may divorce him and marry another? How many Christian homes and pulpits are being wrecked by this scenario? Who will stem this devastating riptide and save the little ones swept away? Keep preaching it Brother! |
