"In closing, it is very significant to note that, aside from various cult groups over the ages (i.e. Montanism, Mormonism, etc.), tongues and prophecy were not recognized by anyone in the history of the orthodox Christian Church as continuing. It was not until the early part of this century (20th) that they “made a comeback” in mainstream Christendom with the Pentecostal Movement and gained popularity in the 1960s with the Charismatic Movement. It is also significant that the vast majority of those who claim to possess these gifts today are grossly ignorant of the most basic doctrines of Scripture and are, in many cases, proponents of outright heresy which denies Christ (i.e. adherents to the Faith Movement, the Manifest Sons of God, etc.). As a whole, modern Charismatics are guilty of willfully rejecting the Word of God in favor of “ear-tickling” false prophets. Does it not seem strange, in light of how God dealt with the Jews for this very same sin in A.D. 70, that He would choose to “pour out His Spirit” upon such rebellious people today via tongues and prophecy, while failing to give such “blessings” to those in the Reformed faith who have remained true to His Word and faithful to His covenant?"]]G.L.Durand

In connection with this article,
I would commend to your reading the heartfelt exhortation given by Ivan Foster, former Senior Pastor of Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church expressed in his article written January 10, 2009 . . . entitled:

Ignoring sin . . . no basis for blessing!
A plea to Free Presbyterians
here: ]]http://www.ivanfoster.net/pdf/Jan0901.pdf
Excerpt:
"It has been felt by some, I fear, that the divisive events of recent years are best dealt with by ignoring them and simply acting as if the tragic series of events that began in 2006 and
which saw men turn their former views and commitments on their heads, never took place.
Such are the foolish notions of those who wish for peace and unity and feel that it may be obtained at the expense of truth.
Furthermore, such folly, it is believed, it will lead on to
revival and blessing. Whatever God in His sovereign mercy may bestow upon His beloved people in Ulster, it will not be because of such actions. Rather it will be despite such stupidity.
God does not ignore sin even though we may do so. The events in 2 Samuel 21:1-
14 are recorded to teach us this lesson."

Excerpts/letter written by
Revs Barry Galbraith (Moderator)
& Philip Murphy (Acting Clerk)
Ref.Pres.Church of Ireland
9/04/07
Dear Dr Paisley,

“Firstly, we are greatly troubled that at this year's 'Gay Pride' parade in Belfast a new low was reached by the unhindered display of a placard blaspheming the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. As you know, your government subsidises this obnoxious event and yet, to date, we have not heard of you or your party resisting this iniquitous misuse of tax-payers' money. Will you be writing to the DCAL minister,Mr Edwin Poots, and to the Director of the Northern Ireland Events Company to object to the funding of this parade? Has a complaint from you been lodged with the Parades Commission?

To participate in implementing legislation that promotes sin is to participate in rebellion against the Lord Jesus Christ. The fact that the higher authorities in Westminster or Brussels may require it is no justification; 'Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye'(Acts 4:19); 'we ought to obey God rather than men'(Acts 5:29).Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not bow down to the golden image despite the fact that the human law requiring it was crystal clear(Dan.3:16-18)."

PAISLEY SILENT THEN

"I`m not quite sure what your point is . ."

Perhaps what Ehud said in a prior post will end your confusion:

"Had they been consistent in their approach then a degree of credence could be attached to their standard.

Now their trumpet cannot even make any sound due the glaring hole of hypocracy allowing all hot air to escape.

The bible speaks clearly on Sodomy as well as lying, murder, false prophets, idle shepherds and hirlings.

The fpc cannot be selective about sin they have not set their house in order hence ichabod.”

I might also suggest if you need further clarification, that you carefully read all the articles cited in prior posts written by Ivan Foster, FPC Gospel Minister . . now retired!

They are pretty straightforward!

Let each readers of this blog draw their own conclusions from the article posted by Ivan Foster, former FPC Gospel Minister here:

Here's another link that speaks volumes.

August 9, 2007 by Ivan Foster, FPC Minister of Kilskeery FPC

Does the picture at this link look familiar? Now, note the picture and caption on the current article at Sermon Audio reproducing the recent Advert of the FPC's which reads:
“The ad was a response to this behaviour, which went unchallenged at the previous year’s ‘gay rights’ march.”

Remember . . .

The only voice rightly raised in protest against this blasphemous display called a “gay parade” within the FPC in the summer of 2007 was that of Ivan Fosters, who was unfairly castigated and demonized for so doing, even accused by Ian Paisley himself & his loyalists of “doing the devil's work” here:
The ? arises . . why now . . . coincidentally after Mr. Paisley's untimely departure from the Off. of 1st Min. & FPC Moder.?

The inconsistency of the FPC's trumpet is fully documented below by the witness borne by recently retired FPC Gospel Minister Ivan Foster,in a time when sodomy funding was being facilitated by other "so-called" Servants of the Lord in the FPC:

and here . . .

Excerpt:
"It has been repeatedly denied such funding was ever paid over by that office during the tenure of the previous First Minister, Dr Ian Paisley."

In the stand against error this double standard must be addressed.

The Statement of 'Concerned Free Presbyterians'/summer of 2007 betrays the uncertain sound of the FPC trumpet.

"Sponsorship of Sodomy
We are without doubt when it comes to what the Bible has to say about homosexuality. We take exception to the stance recently adopted on it by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. And yet we are in the position where the Moderator of our church presides over an office which grants huge sums to promote the “rights” of people whose behaviour God describes as an abomination. Last year Dr. Paisley told a Craigavon DUP Councillor who broke the party whip that he had “sinned” in voting against the Civil Partnership legislation when it came before Council. This issue also raises the question of the terms of the Pledge of Ministerial Office which Dr. Paisley has taken. Why has he been unable to comment on the remarks of Ian Paisley Jnr about homosexuals? Is it possible that our Moderator is now legally bound and cannot criticise homosexuals even to the extent of defending Ian Paisley Jnrs’ right to say what he said? Does any such legal restriction extend to the pulpit? This is a very serious issue and one which our church should demand an answer to immediately.
