“ YOU ARE A SHINING LIGHT!! ”
Your preaching is so refreshing in this day of DEAD churches.  Even though, Pastor Jeff, you are in your "hoary head" years, He Who Is Sovereign has you "flourishing like the palm tree and growing like a cedar in Lebanon" (Ps. 92:12).  The Lord is granting you and MZBC a time of GREAT fruitfulness -- the spreading of The Gospel world-wide through paper preachers who are faithfully proclaiming "IT IS WRITTEN".

“ SPIRIT-FILLED SERMON !! ”
I am praising God for it.  What a JOY for me to hear your sermons, Pastor Pollard, regarding the meaning of The Lord's Supper. The church that I was brought up in from infancy (and that I separated from when I "really" was born again at age 50) was one of those churches that relegated The Lord's Supper to every 5th Sunday.  Was the meaning of Christ's Supper ever preached there?  NEVER.  What a tragedy!  Thank you for faithfully preaching Thus Saith The Lord.  God's Word is powerful and effectual, and answering all its great intention (Isaiah 55:11). Christ always has a "little flock" in the world that is hungering for The Truth and desires to honor Him.  I am one of His Sheep being blessed by Him through your ministry.  Continue to preach with fervency!  Cheering you on.

“ THE COURAGE TO CONFRONT! ”
God emboldens some to speak truth to power. For David, it was Nathan. Nobody is above God's Law, not even "the apple of God's eye" (Psalm 17:8). This sermon is filled with strong meat, requiring much chewing and digesting -- a meal not for the slothful! Thank you, Pastor Simmons, for your labor in the preparing and presenting of it. A job well done!

“ STRAIGHT-FORWARD, PLAIN-STYLE, ON-FIRE !!! ”
I'm loving your preaching with intensity. Christ Jesus did NOT preach "smooth things" and His ministers are to follow His example. I encourage you, Pastor Pollard, to NOT go mealy-mouth in this day of great apostasy.

“ VERY HELPFUL !! ”
Excellent message. Thank you, Pastor Dilday, for being willing to give personal examples. More congregations would be helped if their pastor were willing to say, as you did in this sermon, "this is how at times it has been at my house and may you take a lesson from it." Thanks for being willing to share what has and hasn't worked for you and your wife.

Sermon:
A House Comparatively Mean
Pastor Steven Dilday

comment
“ GOD HAS A WORK TO BE DONE AND A PEOPLE TO DO IT !! ”
It pleased God and served His purpose to have a “house comparatively mean” built. God marks out for each in His purposes beforehand the particular good works and the time and the way which He sees best for those works to be accomplished. He both makes ready by His providence the opportunities for the works and makes us ready for their performance. I like, Pastor Dilday, your mentioning of Matthew Henry in this sermon. God desired to have a commentary written on the whole Bible. And, He chose and equipped Matthew for the doing of it.

“ THE DUPED ONES !! ”
Arminians do not want to accept the reality that God is in control of ALL things, including where every individual will spend eternity. They have bought the lie of the Devil that they are in charge of their destiny. They are in a state of contentment that will not last because their happiness is based on illusion or false hope. Thus, Arminians reside in a fool’s paradise! ... so much so that they make up their own heretical version of the Scriptures and show no remorse for doing so!

“ TELLING IT LIKE IT REALLY IS !! ”
Thank you, Pastor Chompff, for not sugar-coating the scriptures. Most of today's pastors say what they know that the people want to hear, gliding around the hard-core truth of the gospel. I encourage you to press on in the ministry work to which God has called you -- to work the works of Him that sent you while it is day, night is rapidly approaching!

“ DOERS OF THE WORD !! ”
Thank you, Pastor Gables, for including in this and last week’s sermon how God caused a young man (who was in need of a show of mercy) to cross paths with you. Scripture (James 1:22) tells us “...be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only...” And, that scripture goes on to tell us that “we deceive ourselves” if we only hear the Word of God and do not put it into practice. Thank you for being obedient to God’s Word and assisting the young fella on his way to his destination. And, more importantly, thank you for giving ALL the glory to God. May it please Our Heavenly Father to use the encounter that the young man had with you to make for such a positive and lasting impression on him that his life will be changed for the better (that he will have seen Christ in you and be drawn to Him). It is as William Cowper wrote, “God moves in a mysterious way, his wonders to perform.”

“ A NATION IN REBELLION !! ”
It is good that you, Pastor Dilday, are not bashful about pointing out that God is presently judging America. Often through providence, God punishes national sins by national calamities. America’s biggest problem is that she has made God Himself her enemy. She insist on ignoring His Sovereignty, takes great delight in spurning His law, and exalts her own way over His will. In so doing, she has separated herself from the very source of all blessing. She is following in the path of the people of Israel of which this was written in Isaiah 64:10: “But they rebelled, and vexed His Holy Spirit: therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.”

01 Introduction & Brief History

“ IT'S BIBLICAL !! ”
God bless you for undertaking this teaching. It needs to be brought out of the dark and into the light of day again! (To say, as alas! many preachers are saying -- God is willing to do His part IF you will do yours, is a wretched and excuseless denial of the Gospel of His Grace. To declare that God helps those who help themselves, is to repudiate one of the most precious truths taught in the Bible! The Bible alone teaches that God helps those who are UNABLE to help themselves, who have tried again and again only to fail. To say that the sinner’s salvation turns upon the action of his own will, is another form of the God-dishonoring dogma of salvation by human efforts. In the final analysis, any movement of the will is A WORK: it is something FROM ME, something which I DO. But, the doctrine of God’s sovereignty lays the axe at the root of this evil tree by declaring, “it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, BUT OF GOD WHO SHOWS MERCY” (Romans 9:16) –A. W. Pink.)

“ GIVING THANKS !! ”
Thank you, Pastor Dilday, for viewing all the aspects of your ministry as part and parcel of what God has called you to do, as God’s will for you, and therefore engaging in those tasks joyfully and willingly. I am benefiting greatly from your ministry. I pray that God will never allow me to take you for granted, but to always see you and appreciate you for who you are ... a gift from Him, being used of Him, to glorify Him.

Sermon:
Many Antichrists? (Part 1)
Pastor Steven Dilday

“ THE ROMAN POPE -- THE GREAT USURPER !! ”
Thank you, Pastor Dilday, for this sermon series. May it please God to draw many “hearers” to it. Rev. J. A. Wylie, LL.D (1808-1890) wrote this: Paganism was a system of deceivableness. It was the worship of a false god, under the pretence of being the worship of the true God. But popery is a deceivableness on a scale far beyond that of paganism. The one was a counterfeit of the religion of the Gospel. Popery has a god of its own -- him, even, whom the canon law calls the “Lord our God” It has a savior of its own -- the Church, to wit. It has a sacrifice of it own – the Mass. It has a mediator of its own -- the Priesthood. It has a sanctifier of its own – the Sacrament. It has a justification of its own -- that even of infused righteousness. It has a pardon of its own -- the pardon of the Confessional; and it has in the heavens an infallible, all-prevailing advocate unknown to the Gospel –- the “Mother of God.” It thus presents to the world a spiritual and saving apparatus for the salvation of men, and yet it neither sanctifies nor saves anyone. It looks like a church; it professes to have all that a church ought to have; and yet, it is not a church. It is a grand deception -- "the all-deceivableness of unrighteousness."

Seek Ye First...
Pastor Steven Dilday

“ FIRST THINGS FIRST !! ”
There is a tremendous example given to us in the Old Testament of a man whose desire was not for the things pertaining to his own affairs, but for the affairs of God. Solomon, upon his ascendancy to The Throne of David, sought the wisdom of God (“...give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people” -- 1 Kings 3:9). Because Solomon sought FIRST AND FOREMOST to please God in the governing of His People, the Israelites, he received from God not only wisdom, but those things that he could have sought after, but did not, were given to him also -- “And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and understanding heart … and I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches and honour …” (1 Kings 3:12-13).

The Crying Sins (II)

“ A BOLD SERMON !! ”
As I listened to this sermon by Pastor Dilday, it reminded me of something that I had read that the English Puritan, John Trapp (1601-1669), said -- “Truth must be spoken however it is taken.” Thank you, pastor, for making the truth known that Hurricane Katrina was NOT caused by some mindless “Mother Nature,” but Katrina was an act of judgment of God. He used that storm to hold the world’s most powerful nation hostage in a devastating grip. And, what did America do?! Foolishly, she went on in her wicked way, proud of being the nation to champion the correctness and the right to “go after strange flesh.” Today, she stands with a defiant fist raised in the face of He who rained down fire and brimstone, destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, and who once exterminated every breath on the whole earth (save Noah and his family) for the sin of “going after strange flesh.” God says that “going after strange flesh” is unnatural, it’s against the normal sequence of His creation of producing after one’s own kind, and He will not allow it to continue. Obviously, based on scripture, “going after strange flesh” always includes some form of a very severe punishment. Thus, I hold the belief that America is on God’s “hit list” and rightly so because she shows no desire to repent!
