Great Sermon! Oh, dear brother, I was indeed 'numb-struck' by this precious sermon - when you were only half-way through. I was struck by the 'awe of God' and the profound awe by which you preached throughout. I treasure it. I envy the glorious spirit in which you preach and proclaim the Word of God. We remember you, and love you brother. May the Lord richly bless your ministry.
Great Sermon! Stirring, uplifting, encouraging and deeply passionate. The preacher is a man with a burden, a vision and a deep love for perishing souls. May the Lord, dear brother, bless your ministry and all your evangelical labours in Ayr and surrounding communities. May He be pleased to give you very many souls for Christ.
Great Sermon! This is a very discerning sermon, and should be heard by every "genuine" minister across the country. It is both sobering, searching and deeply challenging, and should stir us all into action, privately and publicly.
The dark treads are as needful.... Memories came flooding back, after listening to this tonight. It was the life of Jim Elliott, Nate Saint and colleagues that was instrumental in toppling my little life upside down. Their inspiring missionary witness in reaching the unreached and the unsaved was instrumental in giving up 'all' to bring the gospel to the unreached and the unsaved of Scotland. The Lord has so many beautiful treads in every glorious pattern He is weaving together "the dark threads are as needful in the weaver's skilful hands, as the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned." I wrote to Jim's wife, Elizabeth, after going to London, in 2000 to engage in a course of theological and pastoral studies and shared with her my testimony. I have been actively engaged in gospel outreach work across Scotland now for 11 years, seeking to do exactly what Jim and Nate were doing in Equator in 1956 'winning souls for Christ.' I am thankful to God for their life and testimony, for their zeal and witness...which they endured unto the very end. What a glorious Church the Lord now has in the very country in which they lost their lives, through which precious souls have been won for Christ. We battle on, just as they did, trusting in our great Commander-in-Chief.
