Whether you are in a wheelchair or running at full tilt, to see someone blindly heading for the chasm of oblivion is a sad sight to be sure.

Uhh, am I missing something here? Here we are, in the western world, Canada and the US, founded under God and the Bible, teaching our children that "orgasm can wait until after kindergarten" and seeing as though you will have sex, use a condom...and in a communist country, a godless nation, where morals and rights are far less important than commerce and industry, they are teaching their children abstinence???! What is going here??!
What do I know: I'm a Canadian, a woman, a head injured cripple, and a schizophrenic! Haha! Any prayers would be appreciated!
Hey Jessica, Take a gander at my blog. It deals in depth with suffering, pain and God's purpose in it. We will pray for you, remember this (I speak from experience), you can look at your situation as a crisis or opportunity.

Completely agree Geoff. Much of what is being taught in church today is a piece meal approach or a potluck approach. A little of this and a little of that and you have got the Gospel. Leave out the bad news, of course and focus on the good stuff...like spiritual cotton candy, it rots us out from the inside.

Take a look at what another "upstanding individual" is doing at his church...how God must weep.

"If you don't believe in an intelligent personal God, rights and laws are at the mercy of whoever is in power. This is the fundamental underlying debate here in the USA. We are a nation of laws--given to us by God, who created us and has standards that we are to live by. Those not believing that will take away our freedom and rights at the whims of the current political flavor. And this Professor is being logically consistent with his monstrous beliefs. The world in which God is not honored is a scary one indeed. May God have mercy on us."
Remember the book 'Lord of the Flies'?

I had a discussion with a friend just today, and we talked about this "smart" man and we couldn't keep from laughing over his foolishness. I said something that I feel might let others who read these posts who claim that God either doesn't exist or He used evolution to create the cosmos: Why do you fight against that which you believe doesn't exist? I don't believe in leprechauns, unicorns or UFOs. Do I spend my life, time and money proving their non existence? How does one prove something doesn't exist especially if that thing (or in this case Person) is invisible? If you don't believe in God, then leave it at that. Stop fighting against that which you don't believe in...or could it be, that something down deep keeps telling you that He does exist?

You would think that in this day and age, we would learn from our ancestors to stay away from trinkets, charms and idols to give us "help". But alas, the package is prettier, flashier and more streamlined but the insides are still the same. The problem with God is that He is invisible, oh wait a minute, God showed Himself in signs and wonders in the Old Testament and the people still rebelled and worshiped idols...sigh.
BTW, I am left handed, Scottish and come from a long line of unrepentant psychics...so look out if you are superstitious!

I do not agree with sterilizing the mentally and morally unfit, but back in the day, sexual offenders, rapists and molesters were sterilized, and that solved the problem quite quickly. Now the offender goes through a humanistic rehab, gets his feelings validated, then is released back into the public and guess what? Offends again. Why? Because he is sick. He doesn't want to change and will jump through any and all hoops to get back his freedom in order to slip back into his old lifestyle. Unless there is a wholesale change of heart by God, these offenders will never change, just learn from their mistakes and learn how to cover their tracks better. I know this will generate a lot of flack, but the alternative could be God's law and we all know what He says about this sort of crime.

Sex Offenders belong in prison, not in church. If a "Sex offender" comes to church he better be there to get genuine help or he needs to be told to leave and don't come back. Once one of these perverted monsters gets their hands on an innocent child, that child is ruined for life.

Hello Ouini,

Yes I indeed meant those who were living a Christian lie, who thought they were Christians, who thought they were saved, but in the end couldn't keep up the facade. This is what I meant by the Scripture I used. They left us because they weren't of us. They weren't saved, sealed and elected, therefore they couldn't hold on and keep up with the pace we are running the race at. The Bible is clear about the separation of the tares and wheat, goat and sheep, the fake from the true. This is all that is happening now, and has been happening since Christ ascended into heaven.

Here's a link to this abominable book. It has caused so much damage in churches and will be just that more effective once it gets to the movie screen. A lot of people don't have the patience to read a book, but will sit for two hours in a stinking movie theatre and allow this deception to mold their minds...

I might be wrong here, but isn't the USA (along with a lot of countries) producing more paper money than they have gold to back up with? That being the case, then most of the money being produced could be considered counterfeit. Just the way my mind works!

What I have seen for some time now is a constant drive toward equality in every area of life. The Scriptures say that there is one area where men and women are equal and that is salvation. Men and women are not equal nor did God create them to be. We are different and have differing strengths. When women "excel" in big business, they do so by becoming more...like a man. Women go home. Be mothers and wives. Lead the home and do the job your were created to do. If the family can't afford for her to be at home, then trim your expenses until you can. If we get the balance back, then society will benefit and thrive.

I wonder how far would the powers at be go to respect the Christian Holidays of a believer? Rhetorical question I know, but for those who say that we must take America and Canada and all the other defiled nations back for God...the Muslims already have them and don't expect them to give them up without a fight.

"They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us."

If they left the faith, then they weren't truly saved in the first place. It's a hard road and many will abort when the pressure gets too much.

Freedom from religion sounds wonderful! But as with most people, they make the mistake of considering Christianity, or following Jesus Christ as a religion. Following Jesus is the most wonderful, liberating, freeing "lifestyle", for lack of better term that one can imagine. To lay yourself at the feet of a holy and righteous God in submission is true, real freedom. The problem with most people and God, is they don't think God has the right to tell them how to live their life. The mistake with that is this: It's not their life. They didn't create themselves, therefore they have no rights over themselves...they belong lock, stock and barrel to God.

1 Timothy 2:1-4
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Romans 10:1-4
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

I have been corrected by a brother and apologize for my ignorance. Thank you for all of your input. I am growing and even though I try to hit the bull's eye, I miss so very often.

John UK wrote:
I take it when you say "pray for sinners" you refer to "pray for sinners to be saved"? If not, 1 Tim 2:1.
Thankfully, there is no need for us to pray for fellow sinners to be saved, because the Great Intercessor is already doing that, and far more effectively than we converted sinners ever could.
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:25 KJV
Completely agree...and yes, praying for one's salvation is not Biblical.
