Leonard Nimoy: First, Parallel lines never intersect. Otherwise they would not be parallel. Second, Calvanists do believe that men have a "will." The question is, is it completely "free," or are its choices "limited" by man's nature? Calvanists believe that man is completely dead in sin and will NEVER choose Jesus Christ as savior, because he is under God's curse. He will, and must choose everything that is against God unless God restrains him from doing so (Common Grace). Therefore, when it comes to salvation, God acts first (like he did with Adam) and changes a man's nature. Once the man's nature is changed and inclined toward God, then he repents and believes. So, man's "freewill" is actually "free" but only free according to man's nature. Fallen free will or Regenerated free will. God determines if you are a Jocob or an Esau.
The armininan thought is that man is not really dead in traspasses and sin and like the "Terminator" movie man can actually turn himself back on after he has been killed and turned off. That may be fine for movies, but it is not reality, and certainly not biblical.

Romans 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Yamil: You said "Infant Baptism, Nicolaitanism, drinking alcoholic beverages, and a fanatical adoration of the divines are common (shared) beliefs between papists and Calvinists"

Here is the difference...One doesn't have to subscribe to infant baptism, Nicolaitanism, drinking alcoholic beverages, or have a fanatical adoration of the divines to be a calvanist. In fact, I and many other calvanists don't, and even repudiate these things.

BUT, You can't deny being semi-pelagian and still be arminian. Sorry your still stuck with the papists.

By the way, semi-pelagianism is a common (shared) belief between papists and arminians.

"open theism" is the logical conclusion of semi-pelagian "free will" theology

L Nimoy: Every person on this site is a sinner. Some are Born again and forgiven, others are perishing. Those that are born again can tell the difference amongs themselves. Can you?

GG: Name one time that I have shot myself in the foot. ANd make sure you use scripture (which you have never read) and not your perverted opinion as the basis. You, like your father, love to twist the truth. He is also a "blamer" like you. Whenever somone point out your lies, you blame others. I'll tell you what I tell 5 year olds. GROW UP. The truth is, they will, but you need to be born again.

Just a reminder that when anyone debates with GG, they are debating with a man who has an un-regerate mind, and has never read the bible. Enter at you own risk. Also, Lance is the model catholic and therefore as superstitious as they come. He argues from blind faith and fear of ilPapa. Once again enter at your own risk. As far as debating with Johnny Y...well, I think you already know.

It will be a fiction since the pope knows nothing of the real Christ.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

GG: Once again you err, not knowing the scriptures. That was not Paul that persecuted the church, but Saul. That's when he was depraved before he was born again. So in that sence he was like you are now. Of course if you ever read the bible you would know these things. But Hey, that's why "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN"

GG: Looks like Paul had the same problem as me...But you wouldn't know that because you have never read the bible.

Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

You are your own god and therefore make up your own laws.

But hey, that's why "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN"

GG: How do you know what "sin and wrong-doing" are since you haven't read the bible? I guess you let the priest feed you his truth like he feeds you your salvation pill. I guess when you become hungry enough, you will turn to the word of God and not the words of men.

Oh GG: You love to change the subject to get the heat off..."I could, I can, If I wanted" Just remember, in your papish system "the road to hell is paved with good intentions...."

But the reality is you really don't desire to read the bible because you do not have a regenrated heart, and therefore do not love the Biblical God. You love the idol that your depraved mind has conjured up.

But hey, that's why "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN"

GG: I'm going by your past track record that you haven't read any Bibles yet. Let me know if you do, however, that will at least give me some hope that that the Lord is working in your cold, dead, depraved heart.

And that's why "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN"

GG: "Rest assured that I won't be reading this one"

I am resting assured that you won't be reading any.

Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Lance/GG/Johnny Y: Since you can't interpret for yourselves, what is the RCC's hermeneutical criteria for taking John 6:56 literally, and mark 16:18 figuratively?

I'll help you with the answer. Since rome has no control over snakes, they can't use it to control the people. BUT, since they can make the people believe in the black magic of the mass, they can have power and control over superstitious people like you, GG and Johnny Y.

Are you so blind not to see this? As one of my brothers in Christ always reminds you "That's why ye must be born again"

P.S. Since GG doesn't read the bible I have included the referenced verses

John 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
