Leonard Nimoy: First, Parallel lines never intersect. Otherwise they would not be parallel. Second, Calvanists do believe that men have a "will." The question is, is it completely "free," or are its choices "limited" by man's nature? Calvanists believe that man is completely dead in sin and will NEVER choose Jesus Christ as savior, because he is under God's curse. He will, and must choose everything that is against God unless God restrains him from doing so (Common Grace). Therefore, when it comes to salvation, God acts first (like he did with Adam) and changes a man's nature. Once the man's nature is changed and inclined toward God, then he repents and believes. So, man's "freewill" is actually "free" but only free according to man's nature. Fallen free will or Regenerated free will. God determines if you are a Jocob or an Esau. The armininan thought is that man is not really dead in traspasses and sin and like the "Terminator" movie man can actually turn himself back on after he has been killed and turned off. That may be fine for movies, but it is not reality, and certainly not biblical. Romans 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. |

GG: Once again you err, not knowing the scriptures. That was not Paul that persecuted the church, but Saul. That's when he was depraved before he was born again. So in that sence he was like you are now. Of course if you ever read the bible you would know these things. But Hey, that's why "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN" |

Lance/GG/Johnny Y: Since you can't interpret for yourselves, what is the RCC's hermeneutical criteria for taking John 6:56 literally, and mark 16:18 figuratively?I'll help you with the answer. Since rome has no control over snakes, they can't use it to control the people. BUT, since they can make the people believe in the black magic of the mass, they can have power and control over superstitious people like you, GG and Johnny Y. Are you so blind not to see this? As one of my brothers in Christ always reminds you "That's why ye must be born again" P.S. Since GG doesn't read the bible I have included the referenced verses John 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. |
