Christopher, I agree with you. As iron sharpens iron so one man will sharpen another. While technology drives me crazy it does help quite a bit. We're able to keep in contact with biblical friends or get on here, etc.
US, I thought Obamamcare was suppose to help us?!? All jesting aside will continue to pray for you. Lord knows we've had our share of hard times but despite circumstances we witnessed the Lord do amazing things and quite frankly grew in faith. May God bless you and yours as well
Brother US, there are some things my husband would be willing to overlook in a church knowing that none are perfect and there is other things that he's not willing to compromise on. There has to be a standard of some sort. We had found one and were attending but have since relocated so we're back to searching. Speaking of relocating, memory fails me if you had spoken any more about the job issue with your move. Been praying for the Lord to bless you there if He hasn't already. If He has then may He continue to bless you. Anyways I'm done with this thread. I shouldn't have posted in the first place as it was out of pure emotion, quite a few comments came off snarky though I could have just misread them.
When I got baptized at our old church and became a member I had to fill out a card with my information on it in order to be a member. Now tell me where that is in scripture. You won't find support for that. I'll tell you what a preacher told me is the reason they have to keep track. A preacher or youth pastor is required to have so many people become members or get saved within a time period and if they don't meet those requirements the church will then find another preacher, etc. Again how is that biblical?! I'm fine with submitting to my husband who is fine with submitting to a godly preacher if we happened to find one. But to say that I'm required to fill out a piece of paper that comes from man made rules or to say I'm required to attend a local building where worldliness is applauded and holiness is frowned upon or false doctrine/gospels are preached, to subject my children to that ungodliness then you are out of line.
Sadly this is all to true. It's everywhere. You'll come across it when you search for something innocent on amazon or eBay or the likes. You'll, unfortunalty, see it when you read articles, even on some "christian" sites. The internet is a good tool but can definitely be misused. Accountability is highly recommended. Not just for children but couples should hold one another accountable as well.of course, it doesn't stop at the keyboard. The world is full of it, its at the magazine rack where you stand while waiting to check out at the grocery store, etc, etc. These things really disgust me and make me irate. I'll just stop here as there's no use in preaching to the choir.
Greg, if you say so then I'll take your word for it. Knowing that as christians(who are not just hearers of the word but doers of the word James 1:22) we have put away the old man and follow Epehsians 4:25 "wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth..." Now it would be nice if you and others popped in on threads on theology and not just ones that have to with the election.

CPS A bunch of money hungry busy bodies. Ruining families. I know a family that, by the grace of God, escaped CPS' attempts to steal their children. Terrifying really.
