With all the utterly ruthless, fanatical Trump haters around, both in and out of gov't, I'm surprised he's survived this long.

Good point. And it applies to pranks, too.

I concluded that categorical jokes (say, about the Jewish American Princess) are for insiders only.

Even AiG doubts that claim:

They also mention USAF recon pics taken in '49 and publicized much later. BTW, that was from a time when several US recon planes were lost around the Soviet periphery, being shot down by fighters. These incidents were kept secret from the public.

Given the Progressive tendency to turn every real or imagined sin into a therapeutic problem, this is an unsurprising conclusion.

Democrats are trying very hard to take over.
They'll succeed; it's only a question of when Trump leaves office, this year or 4 yrs. hence. Then D.C. and Puerto Rico become states so Repubs are outvoted, fully socialized healthcare, universal income, millions of illegals and felons given voting rights, children taught to be perverts, and further suppression of churches. There is no way people will ever vote to deny themselves the "free" Snake Oil Progressives have given them. It would have to be taken away by force, but then we would have another problem.

Repubs will be history, not that they've offered much opposition anyway because they have no fixed principles. We will become a bankrupt, hyperinflated 3rd-world country like Zimbabwe and Venezuela. But hey, maybe it'll get so bad, illegals will then go home.

The trends are irresistible and persistent; every generation becomes more depraved and hostile to God. Progressivism is a Black Hole from which there is no escape except death.

Frank, it's true we should not "Follow the Leader" blindly. However, there is a cost to this: We have found from experience that if one dissents with pulpit teaching, even on minor points, be prepared for treatment similar to that which "Woke Leftists" dish out to contrarians these days. Whoever owns the microphone wins.

This is tragic, for you can learn a lot from principled disagreement, whether you ultimately agree or not.

'difficulty understanding Scripture when they read it on their own."

I question the value of such poll results since they are asking a Complex Question: Not all Scripture has equal difficulty in understanding. Many verses are trivial narrative (e.g. "So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah") while others can be really thorny or disputed, e.g. the symbolism in Revelation, as implied by the diversity of commentary interpretations.

But what is necessary for salvation is comprehensible to a mind prepared to receive it. And the 10 Commandments, where our duties towards God and man are summarized, aren't Rocket Science.

Which in itself is not necessarily a bad thing considering the Progressive rubbish taught in college Liberal Arts courses. But he, like many other influential programmers such as Richard Stallman and Linus Torvalds, is an example of a talented fool.

Bizarre but true: Kim Il-Sung, Commie founder of N. Korea, was born to Presbyterian parents; his father was a missionary-schooled elder.

Also strange: the Party's logo has a Confucian scholar's brush, emblem of the intelligentsia, added to the Hammer and Sickle. By contrast, Mao tried to suppress Confucianism in China.

Japan has a Korean minority who are not citizens but merely resident aliens, many of whom identify with N. Korea, not the South. Naturally this doesn't help their local reputation.

As for Wild West days, well the UK has some dirt in their past we can bring up too. Tis the way the world rotates.
The Opium War was by far the dirtiest thing the Brits ever did during that period.

British Victorians helped finance the railroad and ranching industries in the Wild West, and sold weapons to both sides during the Civil War (e.g. Enfield rifles, Whitworth breech-loading cannon).

Tip: Most Western movies are fables; look up historians instead if you want to learn more about the Old West. Much more fascinating, too. Fun Fact: many cowboys were actually from certain native tribes, those good with animals.

How do you know? Have you studied medical curricula? Professionals aren't always right, I grant, but fanatical amateurs are far less trustworthy. My "ill informed" relative's advice once saved my son's life.

You overlook that many other countries have enacted similar measures. Should I believe that *all of them* are doing this just to harm Trump? Rubbish!

Face masks seem to bother you more than recent gov't impositions on religious liberties. Unless anti-facemasks *is* your religion.

I think you mean "Barbary," as in Barbary Coast. Americans back then did not appreciate having to buy them off to sail safely past N. Africa.

"Barbarian" was a pejorative used by Greeks, Romans, and Chinese to refer to presumably uncouth foreigners who talked funny and didn't wear proper clothing.

For example, Vietnamese were labeled "Southeast Barbarians" by the Chinese. Naturally this was not taken well, and several times long ago, Vietnam revolted against Chinese rule.

Since I don't run for a living, that doesn't apply to me. And I don't use anti-bacterial gel, nor does anyone else I know. Actually I only wear it when in proximity to others. So far I haven't fainted or had any heart attacks.

A relative who's a credentialed Nurse Practitioner recommends masks, so I'll take her advice rather than yours, as you sound like an amateur.

That generalization is as impossible to prove as the claim that they're always beneficial. And this isn't even relevant to the news subject.

With the recent Supreme Court ruling on the NV church, it's worth pondering before it comes to your state or jurisdiction.

This begs a big question: Where do Protestants get the idea that pastors/elders must officiate weddings? I think this is a holdover from the Catholic sacraments, for I can find no evidence in the NT for this.

Now if one wants to have a pastor as MC for a wedding, or counsel the couple beforehand, that's fine, but it's not required and no more legitimate before God than if done before a Justice of the Peace or even Notary Public. As I see it, the essential point is that it's witnessed (both families) for accountability, and in good faith by both parties, like signing a contract.

Given the nature of bureaucracy in general, and the military's in particular, I would never expect them to be able to deal with as subjective a problem as this.

"One size fits all" cookbook conformity is what the military is all about. Not without reason was the Pentagon nicknamed "Fort Fumble" by Vietnam servicemen.

When you compare how mentally "ill" behavior resembles Biblical descriptions of those possessed by demons, it's hard to resist concluding that modern psychiatry has its own "mental illness" in its materialistic denial of the spiritual and assertion that environmental/biological elements are solely responsible for insanity. They would never allow that narcotic abuse, for example, might open the door to fits caused by demons.

It's not hard to shoot down secular psychology anyway, being grounded in the fallacious Scientific Method and reliance upon patients telling the truth.
