Something To Think About Isn't it sad that even in many churches wickedness is now being called a sickness, a disease, a weakness. Nor is there a call to repentance. And worldly sorrow is mistaken for godly sorrow.
Looking Forward to Being Spoiled This start to the Life of David series was very good. I am looking forward to being spoiled because—thanks to your uploads—I will be able to compress two years of excellent teaching into, possibly, a couple of months. :-)
A Good Message Pastor Gallagher points out how we are to judge. He says the text wasn't given to us so that we can play God, nor can we know all trees. But, he says, when a tree is known, like when they say you can be saved without Jesus or, they say they love Jesus and live like the devil and could care less what Jesus commands, well then make the judgment according to God's Word.
Also, information was given about the deceitful practice of using ghost writers in the Christian community.
@Frankie Frankie, on the speaker's list of sermons page there is a "keyword" search box right above the start of the list. Put in word then click on magnifying glass icon. (If you're using the SermonAudio app, click on the magnifying glass icon that's at top of the list and the search box will appear.) I just put in "cathol" and got a list of Dr. Fernandes "Catholic" messages/debates.
Hope my instructions are helpful and work for you.
We Have A God That Doesn't Need To Be Carried! Praise the Lord for being the great God that He is! Unlike an idol that needs to carried, God does the carrying. What great love He has for us. I am enjoying this series that reminds me that there is no thing and no one that is God's equal.
Great Sermon! It seems that these two doctrines each have a flawed/limited understanding of the sovereignty of our Lord God and how He operates. We can't fully/totally explain His nature (the Trinity), so how is it that we think we have a full understanding of His sovereignty? Thanks for your presentation, Bro. David. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.
Great Sermon! My friend told me about a church she had attended where the music minister was verbally abusive. Members would "pat the hand" of the abused and apologetically say, "Don't be hurt by what he said, he's a blunt, very direct speaking person. That's just who he is."
Great Continuation! A tiny part of the sermon: "Salvation doesn't belong in the election of a new president. Mercy, it does not. Our hopes are not built there, they are shifting sands. Our hope is on the solid rock and foundation of the mighty purposes of God..." Bro. Derek, that so right there isn't room for more right. Our God reigns.
Excellent! Excellent! Thank you, Bro. Derek, for this sermon. I'm lookin forward to listening to the rest of the series which includes a repeat of "I Am the Only God..." The LORD our God is truly absolutely wonderful in every way!
Our Programming by the Enemy We've all been subjects of social experimenting/programming through schooling, entertainment, the news and social medias, and good old peer pressure. Our “roaring like a lion” enemy has been very busy deceiving us with thoughts like:
To be a Christian means you are ignorant, believing in fairy tales.
To be black and a Christian is to be mentally enslaved to “the white man's religion."
To be black and a Republican is to be a sellout/a traitor because “the Republicans don't care about us, it's the Democrats who's done the most for black folks.”
Not denouncing the flying of the Confederate flag means you support racist white folks.
To be a “conservative” means you don't care about the disenfranchised people of the world.
To be a woman who wants men to assume their headship means you want women kept barefoot, pregnant and abused.
To express concern about "pro-life" candidates (for me it started with “Baby Bush” a.k.a. “George W”) means you want the abortion mills to continue their murderous operations.
And—talk about programming!—my very best friend is an upper middle class conservative Christian white person who hates Obama, Hillary and Muslims. “I just can't pray for them,” she has stated. Yes, we've had some strong “discussions.”
The Enemy's Hegelian Dialectic - pt 2 Just today my best friend (a victim of the enemy's Hegelian dialectic tactics) asked, “So, do you feel any better about Trump?”
“No,” I said, “I still hear the hiss.”
“H-i-s-t?” she questioned.
“No, h-i-s-s,” I answered. “You heard the words; I heard the hiss.”
“Well, I think God's going to use him. I just don't think God is through with us yet,” she replied. “Having Hillary in office would have been horrible.”
“If you will, let's call evil clay. The Republicans and the Democrats have the same amount of clay,” I stated. “I just think the Democrats have given more shape—greater detail—to their clay than the Republicans. But they both have the same amount of evil. Listen, when the Republicans were in control, if they were so pro-life liked they claimed, they could have done something about abortion, but they didn't. They've been riding that 'pro-life' horse for years just to get our vote.”
“Lets not talk about this any more. It's upsetting.”
But she's the one that keeps bringing up Trump's name, hoping that I've change my mind about him.
Nope, I still think he's one of Satan's kids and talks just like his daddy.
The Enemy's Hegelian Dialectic Tactics - pt 1 After listening to your message again, Brother Jason, I just want to say to you, “Thanks for exposing this linguistic scheme of the enemy of our souls.” Being “the father of lies,” he has through the millenniums adroitly used semantic maneuverings to coerce, intimidate, and to produce guilt where none should be. Another pastor has said that to be “innocent of evil” does not mean being ignorant of evil.
