Kev,
I have given an answer to your posts. How is it you do not answer the question: who is the determiner of sanctification? Do you or does the Holy Spirit set how and when someone is sanctified? Plus, for all those who attended Mass during the Reformation, were they not bearing fruit of salvation as well?
So none of the scripture I present is applicable to you or the anti-troll cohort, but all scripture you present is ONLY for me and not aimed at yourself?

Ladybug,
A couple things:
1) I apologized to you et al for ad hominem attacks. Should I expect public forgiveness?
2) Again, I am not SteveR nor a defender of the RCC.
As for your questions, Hitler and Obama have said and done things which conspicuously anti-Christ and affirmed them continually, so no I do not believe they were (are) Christians. Unless I see a post from John Y which affirms anti-Christ positions, then I can only hope and assume he is Christian. I know he attends Mass, but then states he does not believe the doctrines of purgatory, trans substantiation, or mariology. I can say he’s lying? Can you? And how would you know?

Finally, maybe you should read yourself sometime and do some self reflecting as well. Because in your post you described me as foolish ( a fool) for adhering to belief you constructed and I do not affirm. What does the scripture say again about calling someone a fool?

Kev,
Who is the determiner of sanctification, you and the anti-troll cohort or the Holy Spirit?
God in Christ did say all those thing you present, but also said he is long suffering for His people. To think you or anyone can set the parameters for sanctification or conclude absolutely someone’s lack of salvation by mere reading of posts is not the extent of “knowing them by their fruit” it’s presuming their fruit.

Ladybug,
When you asked a couple of weeks ago whether I used another moniker, I said yes, because I did. You teally have no proof to prove otherwise, just like with John Y. How in the world can you say this man is not saved by merely reading sporadic posts on a website? Seriously, how does one who doesn’t live with someone state emphatically ANYONE is not of the faith.?
As if there are NO levels of maturity to where a babe is struggling with something more mature folks see as crystal clear and easy to avoid or conquer. I have NO AFFINITY OR SUPPORT FOR THE RCC, none. I speak specifically of John Y the person.

No, I never posted as SteveR, he is his own man.

I believe John Y is according to his profession, a believer. I cannot say for sure, as no one here can either. I have read his remarks for the past 7 or so years and see someone at war within himself, as I was and still am, over his attendance of Mass and in a Protestant Church. He has said off the Wall things, which I considered as such, but have pity for him. He doesn’t defend well and has been confronted, but it has become a constant pile on. I just can’t sit by and see this over an over again.

If you and the ant-troll cohort feel it is necessary to continue, then so be it. I DO NOT refute the biblical mandate to rebuke, it is clear. I just feel bad for him for some reason.

Using the term “pilgrimage” is funny because that is the exact opposite of what these people are doing. A pilgrimage denotes a desire for a spiritual experience, like Luther when he went to Rome. But, praise God, Luther realized Rome was the seat of corruption and church was in need of reform. Though he held to RCC during his sanctification in the time of the Reformation, God used him as an agent for change. I celebrate our brothers and sisters who were guided by the Light of Christ throughout history. SOLI DEO GLORIA!

So, because those on this site have repeatedly loaded up the cart of the lovingly described “Roman Catholic Troll” with scripture verses void of love and resort to constant “rebuke, rebuke, remove him from this site” gentleness, John Y has had ample warning and should have repented and changed his ways long ago? As if any on here sets the pace and timing of someone’s sanctification. Peter denied with vehemence the Lord after maliciously attacking someone in the garden with a sword. Then, further in the NT he was confronted for siding with the Judaizers against the Gentiles. According to some here Peter “never really made a clean break” from the dead religion of the Jews. Again, look at all the posts from multiple people jumping in NOT to really help or edify, but defend or justify piling on ONE searching professed Christian and lambast the person who dare defend HIM and NOT RCC DOCTRINE.

Kev,
I have used biblical truth. There are different levels of spiritual maturity. Instead of calling John Y a “troll” or “unregenerate” maybe people could either approach him as he professes...a Christian. He seems to be moving from his attending mass and attending a Baptist Church. He had repeatedly said he believes Jesus to be the Christ and Lord of his life. To not believe him IS sitting in judgment. That is NOT biblical rebuke, but presumed judgment. Merely citing scripture doesn’t automatically grant positional authority. Paul does say we are to correct a brother new to faith gently so as not to frustrate or discourage him. It extends to all who may be struggling or is searching. Plus God assures us that he is long suffering and doesn’t wish that any of his should perish.

Kev,
Thanks for proving my main point. This site is a public forum and John Y has hardly created a RCC platform of discord. How is edifying when at least 5-10 people simultaneously “ rebuke” him? Then turn around and spiritually high five each other.

I do not advocate a mish mash of bad teaching with good. I do believe there were saved in the RCC during the Reformation because it was the ONLY visible church. As for Timothy, I presented it because Paul did circumcise Timothy not because he was preaching in a synagogue, but rather he was part Greek and the Judaizers ( like the RCC) demanded his circumcision. Now, according to some’s critical scrutiny, Paul and Timothy’s capitulation was mish mashing Christianity with the dead religion of the Jews.

I do have a question:

Were there ANY saved souls in the RCC up to and at the inception of the Reformation?
Further, did not Paul circumcise Timothy AFTER Christ ascended to appease the RCC of their day, the Judaizers?
All this “mark this person” and spiritual high fiving of multiple people over ONE searching professed Christian IS piling on.

I have a hard time reading this string of excuses. John Yurich either doesn’t want to or hasn’t the ability to defend himself. I know what he has written in the past about others, but to say that is warrant to pile on him is rather weak. As to whether I believe some are not saved, the presented examples would incline me to say no, they are not saved. BUT that’s because of conspicuous evidence or actions which would deem them so. But, John Yurich states he is committed to Christ and that Christ is God and his Savior. The rest of his Roman Catholic rubbish is rubbish. But I know God is long suffering and there are babes, young men, and elder Christians. All are not at the same stage and some may just escape Helll’s fire with no jewels in their crown...but are SAVED. So, I will heel now and leave at that.

I know this, John Yurich is an easy target because he doesn’t really defend himself. Plus, this is a forum related to articles posted publicly, so like the Areopagus during Paul’s day, it’s a place where people can present ideas and thoughts. Of course, challenges to others views are part of the process. Yet, there is a constant stream of ad hominem attacks on John Yurich which doesn’t befit professsd Christians. But, of course this always seems to fall on deaf ears (eyes) because it’s never wrong to call someone a “troll”, “Jesuit troll”, “unsaved”, “unregenerate” , on and on to some. Plus, if someone like myself points it out then I’M the one doing the devil’s work. I have yet to see anyone of you apologize to John Yurich for calling him a troll or even worse unregenerate. Are you really saying you know a man’s heart via a news article forum?
Be reasonable already.

Something to behold here on this thread. Calling for the permanent removal of someone you dislike.

Is this how you resolve issues in every day life? “I don’t like what he said, he should be removed from my presence.” I start to wonder, “if the John Yurichs, Jim Lincolns, and others (probably me) would never post again, then who would you have to direct your indignation toward? These boards would be empty or posts significantly reduced.

“but did you know that as soon as you dress up, whether you color yourself or put on a costume, the enemy owns you? Because by doing so, you have turned over your legal rights, and you have dedicated yourself and your kids to celebrating the devil's holiday..”

Give me a break. This hokey pokey superstition. CharismaNews is part of the Pentecostal speaking in tongues jibber jabber paganesque movement. Halloween is dopey and unbiblical, but for a far worse institution to point this out reveals the true modis operandi of the devil; over emphasize a conspicuous folly under the guise of discernment while leading people astray with truly demonic teachings.

Yet, the Congress is falling over themselves to outlaw bump stocks. This is a horror show we’re watching. PP the monster is not only still alive, the people who should be destroying it are actually feeding it—protecting it. I need to read Psalm 73 and calm down.

God is not subject to time or His creation, everything is “now” with God, to include all of existence. So on our end ( subject to time) He has PRE- determined all that has occurred. Pharaoh, l Caiphas, Judas, Herod were predestined to do their part in God’s, but chose to do so according to their spiritual disposition (deadness) therefore are liable. Likewise, Jesus knows his sheep because He predestined them to be his sheep, hence the reason they know his voice. Further, Jesus states in John 6! that NO one comes to him (Christ) lest God draws him. Couple that with Romans 5:8, while we were STILL sinners, Christ died for us and it gives in insight into God’s predetermined will relative to the elect ( chosen) and leaving others in their dead state (see Romans 9:22).
God DOES predestine some to eternal salvation and some to eternal damnation.

Another Michael,
Calvinism is a label, it’s the object or what is being described that holds the weight. It is biblical exegesis and hermeneutics. Plus, no one can separate doctrine from duty or faith, they are inseparable. Paul spoke of predestination not as a separate reality or doctrine disconnected from Christ, but the truth IN the faithful proclamation of knowing nothing else but Christ. Christ and His doctrine are interwoven—that’s what Calvinism points to and faithfully asserts.
