Why on earth would anyone want rap in any true church?
Uh...I am really having a hard time understanding 'rhymn dude'...am I the only one? I guess pot and rap music does much to make one "think on these things..." as long as they are happy things.

It's so funny how the shoe only fits one way. It's not okay for me to "judge" you but it's okay for you to "judge" me. I speak out of love, you speak out of defensiveness. And just the fact that the more you write the more you are trying to sound like a "white educated man", the more those reading your comments realize just how messed up you are.
Like Kenny said, why on earth would anyone want rap in any true church? Because it tickles the senses and scratches the fleshly ears of our human nature. Amongst the musical instruments and choirs of heaven, there will be PID doing their thang'...word up!

That's fine my friend. I am my harshest critic and I know who I am. I know I am a lousy, vile sinner ONLY saved by Christ's work on the cross. I claim nothing in and of myself but Christ. I fully expect to be judged in the same way I "judge" others. Please realize all that I say, I say out of love for you and to bring God glory.

The one true Lord God in heaven do so unto me and more also if I am lying, or seeking to send you on your way down. But I am not the man to refute every conjured up half-bit rendition of knowledge that turns up from the waves of your search. Yes, the world lieth in sin from day one, but you are taking your quasi-knowledge (which everyone can account for perversions and smokescreens coming from demons, or take it hook line and sinker for all that I can try to stop it) and using it to seek to muzzle the ox.
btw: you are rapping right now, man....
I must be tired or something, because I can't help but hearing compromise in your voice. Sorry, but as Leonard Ravenhill once said, "Is the world crucified to you or does it fascinate you?"

Okay fellow, I yield to your lack of comprehension. But You did ascertain that bold speeches and swift communications put over music does not serve God's will to the glory of Jesus Christ...Now, let us level with each other: do you not understand, or, are you just refusing our testimony?
This is the same mentality as those who call themselves Christians and participate in "ministries" such as XXXcurch and Gay Christian network, etc. You WANT and LIKE this music. it is part of your upbringing and family heritage and so because you take into account those factors, you deem it okay to participate in. I am Scottish and my family from Scotland was a war like, drunken clan that could play the bagpipes with the best of them. Do I like that music? Yes, i love it, but that is my flesh speaking. What music is glorifying to God? That which is stems from a heart of servitude and love for God. The origins of certain types of music cannot be ignored. Rap, hip hop and the like have their origins in the demonic tribes of Africa...and you KNOW that! Can you slap a Christian label on a bottle JD and call it Christian? That, my friend is exactly what you're doing.

Me and my bros rap to each other, that is, to reason strongly, to vibe out, to be heart felt, to ramble a string of sentences, and to bring the understanding to a head. Hip hop (maschil, prophesying) is among the fittest of forms for the ministers which are as flames of fire, and to drill the Lord's hypocrites, to administer commandments to attentive listeners, and otherwise to appeal to the brethren, opening the dark sentences over the strings and keys: altogether for men and brethren to begin to bear out the treasure of their heart. FITTEST, and that, BY THE SCRIPTURES.
See what I mean? Have no idea what you just wrote, but I can guarantee, this sort of language is not glorifying to Christ Jesus. C'mon, man, grow up and start talking and acting like a man.

I cannot understand why this subject is such a hot potato. When Christ comes back, if there is in fact music to celebrate, will it be performed by so called servants of Jesus dressed in leather and ripped jeans with tattoos and earrings playing death Christian metal music with their screaming and guttural vocals? Will He tolerate thrash or rap? If Jesus came to your door, would you be ashamed of your clothing? If Jesus came to your house and asked that you have Him for dinner and then asked if you to put on some of your favorite music, what would you put on and what would you intentionally place aside hoping He didn't see?
We all know what's right and what would be acceptable to Christ. The arguments and hostilities always come from the mindset that I want this and I want that, and I will argue to justify my wants. "Singing" or rapping about life will never glorify God. When was the last time a so called Christian rapper took a sacred hymn and made a rap song out of it? Well of course not, you say...exactly.

"The church is designed to be in the world like a boat is designed to be in the water. However, the boat is in trouble when the water gets into it as much as the church is in trouble when the world gets into it. Well, like water in a boat, the world has been seeping into the visible church for quite awhile now, and it’s sinking."

These posts refer to Christians and rock music, but naturally, it refers to anything concerning music that is or is not glorifying too God.

It's amazing that every time I talk to someone who is a "tither", and ask them for proof from the New Covenant that we are commanded to tithe, they either go to Abraham, the book of Malachi or they mention Jesus telling the religious leaders of the day to tithe and do the other things the Law requires. This is not the New Covenant. The New Covenant started when Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead. We are told in 2 Cor. 9.17 that we are to give as we decide in our hearts. We must understand that God owns our money. He owns every cent. We don't give unto God to give back to Him, but give unto God out of appreciation and thankfulness. It's out of love I give to God my money, time and energy, not compulsion or an order.

Great article and well worth the read.

I want to make two points about this:
(1) Given the sales of Creflo Dollar's new book, I'm not surprised he wants to shoot people who don't give him money. My bookstores got in some copies of it last fall, and as far as I can tell, zero of them have sold over the past six months or however long it's been out.
(2) This idea of shooting people is not new. There is also a clip of Benny Hinn wanting a "Holy Ghost machine gun" to kill people who disagree with him. I don't know where you can find this clip right now. It's on the audio tapes of the old "Christianity in Crisis" tapes (Hank Hanegraaff). Look for these on youtube and other places to hear this clip.
The Word of Faith movement has a lot of violent people who want to kill people who don't give them what they want. Scary!
So true. My in laws are hoodwinked over this guy and I sent them the video last night. What they will do with it, well, we'll see. I couldn't help welling up last night while I watched it. Sad!

This is a great story. Congratulations to this young man! God made them male and female, which signifies a difference and a distinction between the two. Women are the weaker vessel.
I dislike seeing females involved in rough physical sports like wrestling and football. It is simply not a suitable place for them.
You are so right. These girls are doing this on purpose because they know that this can be an easy track to success. I have seen this before in other sports such as hockey where the girl, all empowered to think she's just as good as the guy, finds out in a quick hurry that she is in fact the weaker vessel. When the boy pins her and hurts her, then all the feminists cry foul. "He was too rough...he did it on purpose...chauvinist!!!" Etc.

To read an article about the beliefs of C S Lewis, go to the link below. He was NOT a Christian in any way, shape or form.

I have one question for the commenters here, then I will say goodbye...for now.

"Are the works of the RCC of God or of man?"

In other words, are they ordained by God, or are they solely a product of man?

Please stick to Scripture and I will converse with you. I won't listen to man's word if man's word cannot be backed up by Scripture. Is this a foreign concept to the lot of you? Sad if it is. Yes Catholics as they are, are servants of Satan, doing his work and going to hell. Enough said. Am I equal with Jesus? In righteousness only. His righteousness, His grace, His work on the cross. I am merely a humble servant who was picked by God to be saved, not by my works or merit, but by His unmerited favour, by His irresistible grace. If these words offend you, you are in trouble!

After years of practicing, Zen meditaion, Tantric Buddism, Guided visualization, and an assortment of other eastern discilpines; I concure with this authore analysis of Indian yoga.
Yes Americans (Chistian Americans included)do synchornize and Homoginize everything, so that the yoga you do at the local gym may not be as concentrated (no pun intended) still, many of the world view element of mysicism can still be found in it.
Who would ever deny that American Christians need discernment?
Probably the reason most people disagree with this article, is not because they believe it is over stated, or that the Bible backs up yoga. But, because they like it and don't want to part with it. It has become so culturaly acceptable that if culture comes into conflict with scripture, many people will choose culture.
Good for you for getting out of that trap, X New Ager. It would be interesting to know where you are now, the influence your past has had on you today and your struggles with putting to death your "old masters". You can email me or contact me on my blog, either way it would be very beneficial for "Christians" to hear it from someone like yourself on the dangers.

Yoga will not kill the church, because the true church cannot be killed. Yoga appeals to pseudo-Christians, who live the life, but are not saved. Those are the ones who live like the world yet wear a mask of Christianity. Yoga, just like media, music, dress and other things that describe our culture will only lead those who are lost straight into hell. Those who are broken and saved by the work of Christ on the cross alone, know better and hate the sin as much as God does.

For a man to become President, he can't possibly be a Christian. Can you imagine the things he must know, agree to and turn a blind eye to?

I wrote what the Bible spoke about on the anitchrist that it would be a man. I did not say it would be a certain man, such as the myriads of commenters are trying to say. I said according to Scripture it would A MAN. I cannot bring myself to use man's words especially when those words tend to fill in the lines where the Bible is silent. Criticize me, ridicule me and call me names, that's fine. Jesus was called a demoniac, and you call me a Catholic, same thing as I see it. So be it.

Is that directed at this "closet Catholic"? I guess I am guilty as charged. It would be nice though if SOMEONE backed up their intellectual diatribe with Scripture...?
