I agree, Stevenr. This seems to be more about politics or “social justice” than Christianity. When someone mentions explicit profanity in speech or actions(middle finger) in this context there’s good reason to doubt if they know the true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent.
“And take heed that thou dost not enter into doubtful points with them that are weak (Rom 15:1). But deal chiefly, lovingly, and wisely, with their consciences about those matters that tend to their establishment in the faith of their justification, and deliverance from death and hell. “Comfort the feeble-minded, support (confirm) the weak” (1Th 5:14).”

Mike, because of Jim Lincoln’s “comments” on here my left wing has not been well. It’s very sore and changing color. Very concerning! Now, whenever I stretch them out and give a hop to fly I always swerve to the right. Needless to say, it makes for some pretty rough flying. Some people run for politics; I fly.
No, it’s not the government’s responsibility to smack for smacking. It should be smacked out by a private association of smacking smackers called Softysmax. All revenue brought in through this initiative should be used to educate people on how to eat without smacking.
When I read the headline I thought that the Welsh had a problem of smacking their lips when they eat. Allegedly, the Chinese would traditionally do this to show appreciation for the good food. I can see the Welch enforcing “proper eating” in non- Chinese restaurants, but sloppy eating in the privacy of ones own home should be left up to the individual and their family. Now children who noisily smack their lips while eating dinner in the presence of adults should definitely be soundly smacked unless, of course, the parents themselves are noisy eaters. In that case, both should be smacked, parents and children—smacked for smacking!
Douglas Fir, it’s not that bad. Don’t change your plans based on fear. Find a reputable financial advisor and make a plan if you don’t have one yet. Thousands of people die from the flu every year. Not sure yet if this corona thing will be worse than that or not.
Using your money for the Lord’s work is good. I do warn you though that there’s a lot of folks out there who claim to be doing God’s work but are merely fattening themselves on donations. I have worked internationally in ministry and there’s so many people out there who are wolves in sheep’s clothes.
Just because someone disagrees with you does not mean that they are wrong. Nor does it mean that they are against you in any way. They may rightfully be against your faulty position or view.
