Hey brothers, I was brought up with the KJV. I use both the KJV and the NKJV. We use only the KJV in our church. I need a new Bible and I'm between a rock and a hard place. I find the NKJV is easier to read and alot of the terminology is up-to-date. All being said, I still feel more confortable using the KJV. I'm still a "Thee and Thou" person as well, although most of our younger people use "You and Your" in their prayers, etc. At our men's home Bible study group, most of the guys use "You and Your" when praying to God? What type of Bible should I get, brothers??? ty
Brother Don,

Contact the Bible for Tday and order the "Defined" KJV which Dr. D.A. Waite publishes. It has the difficult words in bold face and they are defined on the bottom of the page. They are with or without index and very reasonably priced. If you order 12 there is a big discount, but they are perfect for bible study.

Dr Waite is one of the speakers on SermonAudio and is a staunch defender of the KJV. He has some sermons here that will explain it better why it is the correct English bible for Bible Believing Christians to be using!

If you can't afford it, I have an extra I will send you for nothing if you give me your address.

"This guy" is Kent Hovind. He is a faithful, zealous, evangelist of almighty God. He is not hiding behind his religion, he is shining his light before all men. His priority is not "making money" his priority is disproving evolution and making an argument for the Christian account of creation. He had a ministry dedicated to this and had ministers that supported this effort. These ministers he gave love offerings to as the Lord made them available. Caesar says, they're not ministers, they're employees and so Mr. Evangelist you must be a publican and collect taxes on my behalf. Kent Hovind chose not to be a publican, which he should have the freedom to do in a free country. He also chose to withdraw cash from his accounts in increments of less than $10,000 without reporting it to Caesar (this constitutes the bulk of the charges). In a free country he ought to be able to do this. Finally, he prayed against his enemies and the IRS took this as a threat. Therefore, not being a publican, withdrawing money from his own account and praying to God = 10 years in prison.
Jeff, that was extremely well written and I applaud you for posting that. It is more proof that this country is turning their back on God and punishing His people!

Jim/Gil,
Go over to the UK or anywhere else or just stay here in the US. Print a 100 page Gospel booklet and quote the AV extensively throughout. Even quote Bible (AV) verses that account for more than 99% of the booklet. Quote, quote, quote. Sell the booklet or give it away, whichever you prefer. Let's say it becomes a worldwide best seller! The masses are clamoring for it! You know what will happen? No one will bother you at all.
Now try that with the NKJV, NIV or the new darling of the modern version crowd, the ESV. Thomas Nelson, Zondervan or Crossway would have you in court so fast you wouldn't have time to say 'Gil Rugh'. These Judas publishing companies won't even let you quote their 'Bibles' in a church bulletin without their permission! And you call these books God's Word?
The AV continues to be the best, most accurate, trustworthy and effective translation of God's Word in the English language. Nothing else comes close and I can assure you that you can quote it or print it to your heart's content. It is God's Word.
Amen!!!

It is good to know we have true Bible believers like you here Kenny to show pretenders like Jim Lincoln, Gil, NY Mike, etc. are going to the gargage can trying to get eatable food!

"If you prefer the KJV and want to use fine, It is elegance over accuracy,"

What I just commented on the NASV is proof that it is corrupt. Jim Lincoln made that statement above about the accuracy without any proof. That is a lie and therefore he is lying to be stating that without any proof.

The KJB is NOT copyrighted, but all these other corrupt versions like the NASV have to change or ommit words in order to get a copyright. The example I have shown is for the NASV, but all the others have made similiar changes.

Again, If any here are unsure about bible versions, don't be foolish and believe what Mr Lincoln has said on this because it is untrue. Listen to what a bibical scholar and authority like Dr. D.A. Waite has said on this very important issue about the KJVO here on SA.

f) The NASV questions Christ’s Divine SONSHIP in John 6:69.
KJB: “Christ, the Son of the living God”
NASV: “the Holy One o God”

g) The NASV eliminates Christ’s title “Son of God” in John 9:35.
KJB: “Son of God,”
NASV “Son of Man.”

h) The NASV removes the title of “Lord” from Christ in 1 Cor 15:47.
KJB: “ the Lord from heaven.”
NASV “the second man from heaven.”

I) The NASV eliminates references to our Lord’s INCARNATION in 1 Tim 3:16.
KJB “God was manifest in the flesh”
NASV “He who was manifest….

j) The NASV dilutes the doctrine of INSPIRATION of Scripture in the margin of 2 Tim 3:16
KJB “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.”
NASV (in margin): “Every Scripture is profitable.”
This NASV marginal note means that not ALL Scripture is inspired by God.

k) The NASV omits reference to our Lord’s ASCENSION in Luke 24:51.
KJB: “And it came to pass…He was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.”
NASV: “And it came about…He parted from them.”
The NASV omits “carried up into heaven,” thus removing a reference to our Lord’s miraculous bodily ascension into heaven.

In the places above, these verses PROVE the NASV is a CORRUPT VERSION!!!

These are some of the reasons Dr. D.A. Waite has given that shows that the
NASV is a CORRUPT VERSION

NASV

a) The NASV questions the ETERNAL PRE-EXISTENCE OF CHRIST by tampering with Micah 5:2, removing the word “everlasting.”
KJB: “from everlasting”
NASV: “ancient times”

b) The NASV removes the assertion of our Lord’s virgin birth in Matt 1:25.
KJB: “firstborn son.”
NASV: “ a son.”

c) The NASV questions our Lord’s DIVINE GOODNESS by deleting the word “good” from Matt 19-16-17.

d) The NASV removes reference to our Lord’s Bodily Resurrection in Luke 24:40.
KJB: “When he had thus spoken, He shewed them his hands and his feet.”
NASV: This important testimony to our Lord’s physical resurrection is removed from the text and dismissed to the margin in some editions, and put in parenthesis in others, showing doubt of its authenticity.

e) The NASV omits the salvation exclusive to faith in Christ, in John 6:47.
KJB: “He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.”
NASV: “He who believes has everlasting life.”
This text in the NASV effectively opens the door of salvation to anyone who believes anything.

In 1st Corinthians, Chapter 1:10, the Apostle Paul wrote,

"Now I besceech you, brethen, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement."

How can Christians speak the same thing, have no divisions among them, and be perfectly joined together in the same mind and the same judgement? If everyone is some different words as well as having words omitted, it is impossible!!!

Look at all the comments for this article! You can see first hand all the differing comments which causes discord and confusion. And God is not the author of confusion!

The answer is that we don't need a another bible, we just have to use the one we have!

(In my KJV Defined Bible, the word "beseech" is in bold print and defined on the bottom of the page to beg, entreat, implore; ask {someone earnestly.)

So I "beseech" you, brethen, to rethink your stand if you are in opposition of the KJV. Find some cause that build's up the cause of Christ and not one that brings it down to your level like you are doing!

In Christian charity,

From Merriam Webster:

1: moderately cold : lacking in warmth
2 a: marked by steady dispassionate calmness and self-control a cool and calculating administrator — Current Biography b: lacking ardor or friendliness a cool impersonal manner cof jazz : marked by restrained emotion and the frequent use of counterpoint d: free from tensions or violence meeting with minority groups in an attempt to keep the city cool
3—used as an intensive a cool million dollars
4: marked by deliberate effrontery or lack of due respect or discretion a cool reply
5: facilitating or suggesting relief from heat a cool dress
6 aof a color : producing an impression of being cool ; specifically : of a hue in the range violet through blue to green bof a musical tone : relatively lacking in timbre or resonance

Those who support these corrupted versions whether a preacher or parishioner are still babes in Christ because they have no absolute truth. The Holy Bible is referred to as a "two-edged" sword and those not using the KJV are taking a rubber knife to a sword fight. Don't care to know what the corrupt versions use becasue Satan is influencing the perverted people translating them to cover their sins!

“Tony, I never use the AV, on this board! I use the authorized update of the AV, the ASV, which correct many of the numerous mistakes in the AV!

Jim quoted Proverbs 17:27-28, but here is 27 from both bibles due to space,
“ He that spareth his words hath knowledge; And he that is of a “cool” spirit is a man of understanding.”

“ He that has knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an “excellent” spirit.” (KJV)

In both versions, the old English word “spareth“ is used but is transposed in the NASV to give the false impression to the gullible that it is almost the same and more accurate. But this corrupt version has translated a “cool spirit” for excellent spirit” using the slang meaning of “cool” to get excellent. (It is the last of 7 meanings in the dictionary.) It is from a slang term to get very good : excellent ; also : all right

Compare the meanings of “excellent“.
1:archaic : superior
2: very good of its kind : eminently good : first-class

You can readily see which is demeaning by using a wordly expression. Satan wants people to bring the bible down to worldly standards and not up to God’s. And usually the music and dress of the churches that are not KJV are worldly to match their bibles. Cont

Tony,

Your strong language in defense of the KJV will not be received by too many that you are saying this with the compassion we are to have for others. While I strongly believe those like Jim, Gil Rugh and any others who support other versions are in error and not biblically sound, we are told to use our words with "charity".

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal." Cor 13:1 (KJV)

In the KJV NT, "charity" is always a translation of the Greek word "agape", a word that suggests unselfish, self-sacrificing concern.) Other uses besides a voluntary giving of money or help to those in need, it is the love of God for humanity, or a love of one's fellow human beings; an act of goodwill or affection; kindness or leniency in judging others.

The 13th Chapter of Corinthians makes it very clear how extremely important charity is concerning our speech and actions. It is very easy to speak harshly when we are frustrated or impatient as I have been guilty of that many times myself. Again, I agree on your stance but not your presentation.

There has been much debate on the KJVO so if you are are undecided about this and are teachable, please give a listen to Dr. D.A.Waite here on SA.

Here are a couple of appropriate Vance Havner quotes;

"Too many church services start at eleven sharp and end at twelve dull."

"The devil will let a preacher prepare a sermon if it will keep him from
preparing himself."

"It is one of the ironies of the ministry that the very man who works in
God's name is often hardest put to find time for God. The parents of
Jesus lost Him at church, and they were not the last ones to lose Him
there."

"IMHO, it doesn't matter what we think or believe, but the fact that Jesus speaks about Hell as a real place, more than Heaven. And isn't it sad that you go to a funeral and the deceased lived like the Devil himself but he is eulogized as being so nice and looking down on us from his special place in heaven? What's wrong with that picture???"

Thought this looked like it was worth reposting on SA as it asked a very good question. (It was a comment made in the USAToday on this article with most people mocking this topic.)

There is a good recent message from a Breaking News story on SA titled "Are We Raising Narcissist Feminists?" It will clarify how families should be raising their children regarding unwritten laws like this. For the sake of your family's good, please give a listen!

It is truly amazing how these homosexual people have come out of the closet in recent years and to now have a voice to speak out like this mocking the Bible.

The Meriam-Webster definition of Sodomy:

Main Entry: sod·omy

Pronunciation: \ˈsä-də-mē\

Function: noun

Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French sodomie, from Late Latin Sodoma Sodom; from the homosexual proclivities of the men of the city in Genesis 19:1–11

Date: 13th century

: anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex ; also : copulation with an animal"

This man is now condoning this perverse behaviour that used to be a felony and the offenders were sent to prison. Next thing will be those who were charged and convicted for this henious crime asing for compensation for their incarseration!

How long can our country keep thumbing their noses at God and expect to have His blessings?
