“ Great Sermon! ”
This guy gets it! His surrenderedness, humility and submission is refreshing. Thanks for this, I needed to hear it from someone else that is suffering.

my question is why anyone would let their daughter be manhandled like that and call it "good" be it either on the wrestling mat or in airport security?
The main reason is this: the distinction between male and female is quickly being blurred and so the natural differences between her and her opponents are foolish to them. She is a warrior(in her own mind) and she and her family find nothing wrong with one warrior battling it out with another. Look into her family and I can most likely pinpoint the problem. Mother is a career minded feminist, and the dad is either enslaved with lust and is a jock, or is beaten down and neutered. Test my theory, bet I'm right. Sad...

Wow, nice job for a nonChristian. Even the lost can shoot holes through Mr. Bell's theology. The sad part is: The church laps it up with joy.

"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before , so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received , let him be accursed." Gal. 1

Anathema (Accursed):

1. a thing set up or laid by in order to be kept
1. specifically, an offering resulting from a vow, which after being consecrated to a god was hung upon the walls or columns of the temple, or put in some other conspicuous place
2. a thing devoted to God without hope of being redeemed, and if an animal, to be slain; therefore a person or thing doomed to destruction
1. a curse
2. a man accursed, devoted to the direst of woes

Take a gander at this book review I reposted from Defending Contending. Well done, and very thorough.

No Music wrote:
"SPURGEON "Praise the Lord with the harp. Israel was at school, and used childish things to help her to learn; but in these days when Jesus gives us spiritual food, one can make melody without strings and pipes. We do not need them. They would hinder rather than help our praise. Sing unto him. This is the sweetest and best music. No instrument like the human voice." (Commentary on Psalms 42:4) "David appears to have had a peculiarly tender remembrance of the singing of the pilgrims, and assuredly it is the most delightful part of worship and that which comes nearest to the adoration of heaven. What a degradation to supplant the intelligent song of the whole congregation by the theatrical prettiness of a quartet, bellows, and pipes! We might as well pray by machinery as praise by it."...When asked why, he quoted 1st Corinthians 14:15. "I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also." He then declared: "I would as soon pray to God with machinery as to sing to God with machinery." (Charles H. Spurgeon)
And a hearty amen from me!

Be my guest bro, there's no copyright on my words, thank God. And know that "revivalists" come in for a lot of stick from their fellow believers who will not accept that "something is wrong" today. Keep it up brother, and may God use your whateveritscalled to stir up the saints to action, namely repentance and faith.
There ye be, my friend!

Nice one bro.
It is a hard thing to confess on a public forum that I am not as I once was, vibrant, zealous for souls, full of the Holy Ghost, knowing God and his wonderful presence and worshipping from my heart and not my lips only.
But then, I prefer to live honestly, not putting on a mask and pretending all is well, when all is NOT well.
What is needed in the church today?
REVIVAL AND REFORMATION - an outpouring of the Spirit in baptismal proportion upon the church (as Dr Lloyd-Jones said) and a return to debating and finding out the true blueprint for God's church, instead of blindly following the Protestant Reformation as the be-all and end-all of church doctrine and practise.
Ahhhhh....that's better.
I am not where I want to be, but sure am not where I once was. The grace, patience and love of God is what keeps me going day to day. Legalism? No, just plain humility and appreciation. Nice definition on R&R, John, I just might use that on my blog.

I reckon that those who would write long lists of do's and don'ts for the Christian to live his life by, are behaving similarly to the pharisees of Jesus's day who also had long lists of extra-biblical commandments, with which they burdened the people (and themselves). I suppose the RCC could be compared to that.
But surely Christianity is reconciliation with God? We are supposed to be living in CONSCIOUS communion with our Saviour. And don't go on at me saying, "Ooer that's a bit mystical, isn't it?"
The point I'm making is that constant communion with Christ will sensitise the conscience and will, to such a degree that no man need tell another what to do, because the Lord himself will soon convict the sensitive conscience of any wrongdoing or doing something not in keeping with God's will.
But today, Christianity is not generally being enacted out! It has become legalistic because very few have this "normal" Christian life. (check out Watchman Nee, Corrie Ten Boom and others like George Mueller of Bristol.)...I wish I was living like they lived.
Nice one John.

In Romans we have been told that we have a certain amount of "Christian Liberty".Now we are also told that all things are permissible but not all things are profitable.
This leads me to thinking this way: Go ahead and play any music you want.
Play any instrument you want.
Watch any movies you want.
Smoke pot, do drugs and drink as much as you want.
Where any clothes (or lack of) you want.
Do whatever you, in your conscience deems right and justifiable. It's up to YOU.
HOWEVER, and this is a biggie: You will be held accountable for what you do, say and think and how that affected your brothers and sisters in Christ and how it also affected the world that has observed you in those practices.

I myself will strive to glorify God in my actions, words and thinking, and that means I strive to purge my life of that I think is not honouring to God. You may not agree with me, and most people don't. But in my thinking, and in my convictions Jesus Christ deserves our best in everything and that includes the music I listen to. As I said before, everything has its origins, and those origins must be taken seriously. Christian Yoga? Christian cigarettes? Christian Jack Daniels? Christian Rap? In my mind, there is no difference.

Scan down to 'REVERENCE IN WORSHIP'
Then click on link: 'Contemporary Worship Music'..John Thackway.
Note the last paragraph and the quote from John Knox.
Also go to: Bible League Trust
http://www.bibleleaguetrust.org/church.html
See all the categories at the bottom of page as there are so many excellent articles under those headings, particularly also on that very page "the world in the church"
God's religion is a heart religion and it is interesting that one particular Calvinist rapper was convicted at conversion to give up his "Rap" but was then persuaded to simply Christianise it instead...Now we have charismatic calvinists...I think I see a link
John Knox..is he a fossil or is he correct?
Study: research the history of rock and roll and what the term means. Most Indie stuff comes from an original source.
You are so right. We cannot ignore the roots, where did this and that originate from? To whom was it created for in the first place? Shall we have BaalWear? Or perhaps Moloch Childcare centers? Catchy name, Christianized but at its roots...death.

What a mockery eh revival. "Many will say to me in that day lord lord..."
You know what hits me so hard with that passage? The "Lord, Lord...". these aren't people who could care less about God, but these are people who really, really think they're saved. They think they are being sincere, and they think they are doing the work of the kingdom, but alas, they have been found out to be serving a false christ, the instead of Christ. We know that Christ repeated Himself only to make a point (verily, verily...). Please people understand that you need to be following the line. If Jesus is Lord, then He must be Lord of all. If you are not willing to give up anything and everything for Him, then you don't deserve Him.

Just to prove a point, click this link on Wikipedia regarding a "Christian" death metal band that supposedly loves Jesus with all their hearts and they also consider themselves servants of Jesus Christ.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortification_%28band%29

Half way down on the page, on the right side there is a link you can click to listen to some of their "glorifying to God" music. Be prepared...

Okay...this will be the third time I have tried to post this comment and I can assure everyone that the first attempt was the best...
Now, as I was trying to say the other two times, just because God created something, and just because it's natural, doesn't mean it's beneficial for you. Mushrooms are the perfect example of this. There are many, many poisons in nature that if we even touched them, they would kill us. Is it okay to lick a toad? Is it okay to have sex in public? Is it okay to belch out loud in the middle of a restaurant? All these things are natural, but we don't do them because they are not fitting and profitable to the body of Christ. Smoking pot, listening to music that has the title of Christian attached, wearing unbecoming clothing, and other things we think are okay to do out of a misguided sense of Christian liberty only harms us and does us no good.

John UK wrote:
Christianity begins here, as Newton rightly says:
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
The first thing is "fear". Fear of God, fear of eternal punishment, fear of sinning. And only the Holy Ghost can produce this fear in the heart.
The second thing is having those fears relieved. How? By calling upon the name of the Lord, "God be merciful to me, a sinner..." and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ as having died for me, in my place, to bear away the wrath of God due unto me because of my sins. And only the Holy Ghost can produce this faith in the heart of the sinner.
Thirdly, grace is acknowledged as very precious, and always will be by the new creature in Christ. And only the Holy Ghost can teach these things to man.
Christianity produces in a man two seemingly opposite characteristics: deep joy, and deep solemnity and seriousness. It is a great privilege to be born again by God's grace.
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Romans 14:17 KJV
Worship needs to reflect these things.
There you go...

Well here we go again. Justifying our behaviours in any way we can so that we have an excuse to live life the way we want. Smoking pot, listening to rap/new age/heavy metal, practicing sexual sin/alternative lifestyles...etc, etc. One must wonder what Christ is coming back for...surely those who call themselves Christians will be so loaded down with their stuff and lifestyles that they will never make it to the marriage feast before they slam the doors shut. Just a warning...and yes, when I point the finger (in love), three fingers ALWAYS point back at me.

2 Tim. 4 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

I think this rappin' reprobate needs to be let go. We could pile on all the Scripture we want and unless the Holy Spirit moves upon him, there will be no change of heart. We must in the end, let him smoke his weed, rap his, uh, rap and be who he wants/needs to be and God will hold him in accountability. He can write as much as he wants with his so called edumacated tones, but his immaturity and rebellious attitudes shine through quite well. Will you, rhythm-rapper offer Jesus Christ a drag when He returns? Will you go before Him on Judgment Day and offer to rap the 23rd Psalm before He continues with His judgment? Somehow, I just don't think so.

Just a suggestion, my fine feathered friend, if you're going to attempt to convince anyone of your convictions, please at least make some sense. I am usually pretty good at understanding what people say, but you have stretched my mind something fierce tonight.
