It is ever heartbreaking to see the very best "theological scholars" vainly, and I do mean vainly, attempt to figure God out and put Him in a nice systematic theological box rather than to believe Him and bow to Him who is so much greater than the angels and worship Him.
HE saves people, HE saves people in harmony with the completed work of Christ, the witness of the Holy Spirit and His Word BRINGING THEM TO repentance and faith and new birth.
We might do better at the start of this new year to return an appreciation of the work HE HAS DONE in our own lives to save us from sin, unless your grand theology has not brought you to actually know Him and love Him in which case you might want to seek Him with all that is within you until you find Him and He saves you.
To my 'Arminian friends' please don't be bent out of shape when some poor wretched sinner, because of God's prior work in his heart, seeks God and finds Him and is SAVED BY HIM. Remember He does promise to do this despite your systematic theology and the salvation of one who does should cause you great joy even if it doesn't fit your ideas about God.
Of course God knows all things before they happen- he is Omniscient! No calvinist denies this - but if it suits you to lie, then you carry on.
The term foreknow is used of persons not their acts or events, and it is only used of those who will be saved. So if anyone is redefining the term it is you Arminians because to admit that God knows all things because he has foreordained all things would destroy your much vaunted sovereign wills!
Name Tagger ‚ÄúAntinomians say your salvation is not conditional, that you can never lose your salvation no matter what, and that it is possible to be a wicked sinner in the flesh and a holy saint in the spirit.‚ÄĚ
As far as I know point 2 has always been defined by Arminians as God’s election is conditional on faith in Jesus, Antinomians also believe this don’t you?
I really think the only difference between you and the Antinomians in the 5 points of Arminianism is point 5 'Falling from Grace'
‚ÄúBy their attitudes toward "Arminians" I don't sense a lot of love from the Calvinist. They want to justify their hatred for non-Calvinist (non-elect) by God's hatred of Esau and workers of iniquity‚ÄĚ
Below are samples of the love Arminians have for Calvinists:
‚Äú‚Ķ "cult of Calvin".‚ÄĚ
‚ÄúThe Pharisees who hated Christ claimed to be Moses disciples and today is it "Calvin's Disciples"?‚ÄĚ
“militant Calvinism, Catholicism and Islam all have something in common?"
‚Äú‚Ķ Calvinism accurately, as a cult, or will say that a person who teaches there is another way to be saved besides faith in Jesus Christ and him crucified is not a Christian.‚ÄĚ
‚Äú‚Ķ not true Christians ...‚ÄĚ
“… contentious Calv.., er uh pharisees.
‚ÄúThat makes these people IGNORant‚ÄĚ
‚Äúa cult mentality.‚ÄĚ
‚ÄúCalvinism sprung up from a murderer‚ÄĚ
‚ÄúI dare say that like the Calvinist of old, they would gleefully delight in us burning at the stake.‚ÄĚ
