I don't know John Y JUK.

John Y!!! Make YOURSELF KNOWN.

Am I getting closer John? How many types are there sitting around you at Mass John? What are the names of his women disciples? In your church John, I KNOW, how the real men are dwarfed in the shadow of the ladies adoration of 'Christ'. Sneaky isn't it?

Or are you one of those sitting on a 'lay committee' in obedience and on a mission for your masters?

Who do you report to John Y?

Does it occur to you that John is making an attempt to come out? But that the alternatives don't appear to be any better than what he already has?

"Being an ex Roman Catholic, how do/would you go about trying to reach those who are addicted to the ritual and pomp"

You can't 'reach' them. How do you reach the 'rich'? Are you asking what the formula is? John Y doesn't want to be reached. Its my guess he came here to 'reach out' to you.

They have to come away all by themselves. The elite look down on others Chris. You don't listen to people you think are inferior to you.

John Y is the definition of hypocrisy. He just 'omits' to say certain words in the Mass which he doesn't agree with. So his religion is childish to say the least. He thinks he has to utter something with his mouth before he is guilty. But John KNOWS the Mass is a community affair. In one voice the Mass is said. You can omitt to say whatever you like, the others are saying it for you.

Cathoicism is not built on facts. So the facts are a lesser importance. Your work with the canon would be very useful with evangelicals who think Catholicism is just another 'nice' way of doing lunch with God.

Facts don't save anyone from religious addictions.

I am actually a little bit angry that after so much time spent speaking the truth concerning the many heresies of the Roman Catholic church, and posting fact, after fact, after fact, it all continues to fall upon deaf ears.

Perhaps the facts you present would be suitable for a person who is able to be reached intellectually, not everyone thinks as you do. Catholicism tends more toward feelings and emotions - hence the focus on the suffering Christ. Or the Blessed Mystery's. Even the rosary is designed as an experience, as are the stations of the cross.
Facts are 'lesser' than experience.
Hence the elaborate 'play' or 'journey' at special occassions like Lent, Easter, Advent. Its all experiential. There is a lot of role play. The worst aspect for me was when I realised the priest role-plays Christ. A boundary is not observed. This is one of the marks of mysticism. Boundary's are not observed.

Thanks Unprofiterable, very profitable.

John? Do you have friends in the RC church - or are you one of those who come in late and sit at the back, suspicious and wary, and leave early?
Thats what I miss most. The peace of the Mass. Just me and God.
The 'Protestant' experience is so hyper active and intrusive of ones personal space. However, once you begin to see things amiss it will only get worse for you. I shall mention you specifically in my requests that Our Father make life more and more uncomfortable for you.

John, I watched passive faced women processing to kiss the feet of a huge plaster Jesus eternally nailed on a cross. I kept saying to God: Why are they wearing red lipstick? It was awful. They left imprints of their lips on his feet. I knew in that moment it was offensive to Jesus, and it was so very very deceitful in its abuse of Him - these souless women kissing 'Jesus' feet - and they had remembered to put on their lipstick! I still shudder at the symbolism John.
It is the fear of God and His Son who is sitting at His right hand in GLORY that I now have developed in me, causing me to voluntarily appeal to RC's at this time. Not from regard of law do I appeal but from regard of free pardon and freedom from dead works,in regard of Mercy and Grace.

@John Y. Can you be more specific? What are the parts of the Mass which in your opinion are unscriptural? Have you spoken to your parish priest about this faith crisis you seem to be having here on SermonAudio?

“ Great Sermon! ”
For those who are "saved": Steve Brown wrote his "Three Free Sins" book and Martin Luther shared his "1,000 rapes a day" point. Isn't Keller just trying to be consistent with this same theology? For the homosexual who is saved, why can't he engage in 3 or 1,000 homosexual acts? If a heterosexual can have a boatload of free sins, why can't a Christian young man with same-sex attraction who occasionally falls into it? Grace only applies to the sinning heterosexual but not the homosexual? Great dialogue!

Certainly there is much to be deeply concerned about in these developments.

Tim Challies wrote:
Unless the Board can be convinced to change course, they will effectively drive hundreds of churches from its nearly 600 schools.
I am familiar with Grace Fellowship Church, Grace Fellowship Church of East Toronto and Grace Toronto Church and that they meet in school buildings. But are there really "hundreds of churches" meeting in school buildings in Toronto? Please be careful not to undermine what is a very strong argument with hyperbole. Or could you point us with a link to a list of these hundreds of churches?

The Bible Answer Man, Hank Hanegraaff, from yesterday's broadcast:

"We are saved by grace through faith on account of Jesus Christ alone. ... There are Roman Catholics who hold to the essential that we are saved by God's grace. ... From an official Roman Catholic standpoint, [it's not] a crass system of work's righteousness. The idea is that we're saved by God's grace but that grace produces in the life of a believer faith infused with works, and the works are thought to be meritorious. ... It's not a crass system of work's righteousness as some suppose it to be."

The "doers of the law shall be" __________ ?

If Arminians and RCC are wrong, then when they point to this crystal clear verse as evidence for doing the law to be justified, why wouldn't God let them into His Heaven? The Covenant setting isn't that of a courtroom but a family room. When dad tells his children to clean their rooms and take out the trash, he means it. God means it, too.

Contrary to what Aquinas taught, there is no such thing as Natural Law.
The Bible speaks to this:

"13For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

14(For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

15Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another)"

-Romans 2:13-15

These pagans even have the "work of the law written in their hearts."

Though they don't have the Book of God but do it, they're reading and following the Book of Nature.

Amazing grace His!
