Article Quote: "The bishops said that Catholics should stop practicing Reiki, a healing therapy that is used in some Catholic hospitals and retreat centers, and which was enthusiastically adopted by many nuns. The bishops said Reiki is both unscientific and non-Christian."

If so-called "christians" want to do non-Christian therapy(Reiki, or anything like this), they need to join a Shinto or Tao religous group instead of infiltrating the body of Christ--the church. This stuff has no place in the Christian's life. Of course, the RCC has already allowed unbiblical practice inside it for many centuries. So these nuns should repent or be excommunicated. The same applies to people in the Protestant churches also. Repent or leave. The New Testament alread tells us what to do to minister healing(James 5) and Reiki is not the method. God says "Touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you."

True founder of america, yes, in a way it is true, or possibly more correctly the founder of what was the original American church...which was basically Reformed in doctrine and practice. Considering the hodgepodge confusion of American christianity today(particularly the charismatic frenzy) shows that the U.S. needs to return to the Reformed faith.

No, John, simply joining the Baptist church does not guarantee Obama would become a Christian. No Baptist faith statement says simply joining a Baptist church gurantees birth into God's kingdom.

Hi Mike. Yes, in today's auto culture, I suppose a '99 auto is now a relic.

Today's churches are catering to culture instead of scripture. No doubt they are losing youth.

We should make no bones about the matter then.
Yes, something like that. Simply this: Searching for, testing and venerating relics are unheard of among the Christians in the New Testament. I have a "relic" in my home. It's called the Holy Bible and it alone is sufficient.

Now if they embraced the reformed faith--the doctrine and practice of the real church(strict faithfulness to Scripture Alone), this would be a non issue.

Article: "Obama has even sampled a few himself, attending services at 19th Street Baptist on the weekend before his inauguration and celebrating Easter at St. John's Episcopal Church."

I'd imagine this is not the reformed but deformed liberal Episcopal church. Holidays such as easter are not holy and have no scriptural warrant. The Apostle Paul lamented at the Galatians' obervance of days and religious festivals.

No doubt about that, Hidemi, especially once the charismatics came on board....Stability disappears when anything goes in the name of the Holy Spirit without discerment with an open Bible. Take care!

Sounds like the NAE is falling for politics instead of the redemption of souls as well.

And they worshipped the creature more than the creator. Yep, no surprise this is a pentecostal church. As long as it works to draw a crowd or cause awe, it must be of God even if it isn't in the Bible. The pastor cares more about politics than a soul's redemption.

The Potter is free to do with the clay vessel as He pleases and the vessel has no position to say to the Creator "Why have you made me this way?" The Apostle Paul even stated God has made some unto destruction(Rom. 9 and predestination is taught in Romans 8.)

I was looking about for tulips in the Bible, but you know what? Couldn't find anything. Did find this, though.
Matthew 6:28
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Do you suppose that means the ones who favor tulips do a bit of spinning?
Tulips? They are in the lilly family as well.

I think this issue is already clearly settled in the scriptures...only men were apostles and established congregations, etc. This is just the way it is, not that I am against women, but I only support the positions God has ordained for men and women.

Well, they must have some sense of scripture only and Christ only if they are banning this kind of behavior. At least this is what the original Anglican confession says--affirms the sufficienc of scripture and faith alone. I suppose though there is room for more scriptural reform among them, particularly in its worship and observance of days and feasts, etc.

DJC49, I have a question for you. Where are you in Florida? Pensacola area? Are there any good Reformed churches in the Pensacola area? Thanks.
