Jim Lincoln wrote: Considering Israel is akin to being the 51st state, and shining example of a democracy--just one of the reasons that Arabs--hate it so much, and because Israel's innovation benefits the world this anchored "aircraft carrier" is the only reliable ally in the area we got. But even some Israel admit to it.Mr. Paul seems to have a simplistic understanding of quite a few things (an inherent fault to Republicans in general and to his father in particular. ) Some of this foreign aid is bribe money, but apparently we have been bribing the wrong people an in the wrong ways. Pakistan is a nuclear nation, and it might pay to give them "tribute," because of that. But are aid to the Arab countries has to be changed in some ways, that is for certain, the author is nasty to both Republican and Democratic Presidents, a good example of equal-handedness. My my, Mr. Lincoln, that is the most eloquent justification of thieving my eyes have ever read. I'll say, with casuistry like that, you might have a place in Congress or among the Jesuits. |

John Yurich USA wrote: This is the natural outcome of redefining marriage. Why would the government of Brazil wish to go against the teachings of the Catholic Church which states that polygamy and homosexuality is wrong? Brazil is mostly a Catholic country. So it does not make sense why the government of Brazil would pass a law permitting polygamy when it is against Catholic teaching. Next stop on the depravity tour, incest |

"The Freemasons were/are ecumenical and tolerant in their beliefs. Is being ecumenical Christian? Of course not."So... something good can be spawned forth from a rotten tree? Or, Christians can't create something better than unbelievers? "However, if you were in the New England colonies or perhaps even Maryland, during colonial times and were not one of the in groups of those colonies, you would appreciate a lot more tolerance than they showed." Umm, couldn't you just leave? Or, couldn't you just obey the laws while there? Or, couldn't you argue for laws and norms that better reflect God's law? "it was just one of the things that made the United States a secular country that believed in separation of church and state. Amen." Separation of Church and State isn't separation of State and Christianity. The Scriptures are clear (as is logic), there is no neutral, "secular" worldview. What we have now is secular humanism with naturalistic materialism (plus a little dash of pragmatism). Plus, we've murdered a few million people since the early 70s... so things aren't really that "tolerant" |

John Yurich USA wrote: Pelosi is obviously being influenced by Satan or else she would accept the Catholic teaching that homosexuality is an abomination before the Lord Jesus. Pelosi should be excommunicated from the Catholic Church for being for abortion and homosexuality. Why doesn't the RCC ever excommunicate people like her? Doesn't it have a responsibility to its people? |

Vidi vini vici wrote: How do you know the Reformation is over? Because the key corollary to the Bible alone fails: the Perspicuity of the Bible. How do we know? Let us count the ways? (1.) President Lincoln stated this in his Second Inaugural Address: "Both sides read the same Bible; both pray to the same God." But history tells us one isn't right. (2.) Divorce and remarriage - two critical issues in our day -- have been divided into four primary views. One is correct. Three are false. Last but not least: (3.) "Two prominent theologians took opposite sides and debated the theological system of Calvinism..." If the Bible were clear the Christian would have always known better than to chain down his help. If the Bible were clear, they would know if marriage is permanent or not -- just like the wedding vows state. This debate will soon be settled. If the Bible were clear, all would know if you're elect or have free will or both. But this debate will never be settled. Perspicuity is broke. Who'll admit it? My favorite part of the Gospels is when Jesus praises the religious leaders for their traditions because obviously the Scriptures weren't clear enough... |

Pbox wrote: If you're the most godly conservative Bible-believing Supreme Court Justice who strictly upholds the Constitution in every way, what passage(s) can you point to that would prohibit the marriage of two men? What would prohibit state bans on civil unions, etc.? When it was written most states even punished sodomy. The const. is a contract... intent of drafters matters. It "evolves" by amendments |
