Let's stick with using the word of God to defend truth and not personal innuendos or back door jabs. Some who post here are notorious for having to get the 'last word'. Doesn't matter if they've been proven wrong, pride insists upon UNFOUNDED belittlement. True humility is worked by God, haughtiness is of the flesh and must be battled against.

The Lamb takes away the sin of the world- 'taking away' - to remove, take away' So...IF Christ 'took away' the sin of the entire 'world, then there remains no sin left for them to be judged by. THAT is universal atonement/salvation and that is heresy.
Christ removed sin completely for those God elects to save.
- "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them" 2 Cor. 5:19a 'reconcile'- reconcile back again bring back a former state of harmony, fully reconcile'-http://lexiconcordance.com/search7.asp?sm=0&sw=2644
According to ,Arminians that text means God has FULLY reconciled the entire WORLD to Himself, not 'imputing' meaning 'to take into account, reckon, charge with' their sins against them. This same heresy would mean there is no hell, all will be saved, etc.
'Fully reconcile' surely has a different meaning than 'make possible' doesn't it?

All those on here who claim to 'love' others didn't even bother to warn Dolores she was studying from heretics, both Moore and Shirer are just that. So I provide links to expose these heretics and the gang goes crazy...go figure. The gang teams up and launches their typical tirade, misconstruing the point being made. One in particular loves to get his 'digs' in. No surprise considering the ecumenism and compromise. Some continue to convince others they are saved.
If any here genuinely cared, they would have warned Dolores. The only excuse is most are deluded like Dolores when it comes to what Moore and Shirer actually teach.

Someone stated their bible studies used material from two women who are heretics, another mentioned the father was a heretic as well. False religion is of Satan and sends MANY down the broad road, they perish.

You respond with humor. There is a time and season for everything, you need to learn that.
Responding with personal attacks is quite common here, unfortunately for all of us.

English Lad - well said

False teachers are leading sinners down the broad road, including some on this forum. One in particular spoke of a bible study that included two heretics, the father of one of them is also a heretic.
How sad that some use humor when tons of folks are deluded and perishing. Where is the 'love' for those perishing now? This 'love' so many boast of, yet its crickets when heretics are mentioned. NO warning, no rebuking, nothing.

Pathetic

Great response Chris. It's sad to see some find humor in false teachers.

I think Darren put it best, your attempt to explain your Arminian view was merely eisegesis.
- being indwelt and taught by the Spirit is what's needed.

"The potential/extend of the atonement does not indicate universal salvation"- sure it does. Here's the internet definition, 'Unlimited atonement (sometimes called general atonement or universal atonement) is a doctrine in Protestant Christianity that is normally associated with Amyraldians and non-Calvinist Christians. The doctrine states that Jesus died as a propitiation for the benefit of mankind without exception.'
Here's another "Universal (or unlimited) atonement is the view that Christ's work makes redemption possible for all but certain for none. According to this doctrine, whatever Christ accomplished on the cross, he accomplished for all alike – those who are finally saved as well as those who are finally lost. This view is contrasted to the Reformed doctrine of limited (or definite) atonement.

This view of the atonement is advocated by Arminian/Methodist, Lutheran, and Roman Catholic theologians (among others). "-https://www.theopedia.com/universal-atonement
See, all roads DO lead to Rome.

Double speak is rampant here isn't it?

Implying and forcing meanings upon the word of God to make it fit universal redemption is foolish. Nowhere do any of the verses with 'world' in them teach there is a 'potential' for 'all' to be saved. IF that were so, why aren't they all saved B McCausland? What prevents the entire world from it?
Getting your theology from English translated words isn't how one studies the bible.
"the whole world has gone after him" Did all the world go after Christ? "then went all Judea, and were baptized of him in Jordan."
Was all Judea, or all Jerusalem, baptized in Jordan? "Ye are of God, little children", and the whole world lieth in the wicked one". Does the whole world there mean everybody? The words "world" and "all" are
used in some seven or eight senses in Scripture, and it is very rarely the "all" means all persons, taken individually. The words are generally used to signify that Christ has redeemed some of all sorts
-- some Jews, some Gentiles, some rich, some poor, and has not restricted His redemption to either Jew or Gentile ...
C.H. Spurgeon from a sermon on Particular Redemption--http://lexiconcordance.com/greek/3956.html

The word of God is a two edged sword, it cuts both ways. It softens and it hardens - God hardened Pharoah's heart, in what way? By Moses proclaiming 'let my people go'. Pharoah's heart was hardened as a result.
The Gospel, when proclaimed biblically, will either soften or harden, however God determines. His word never returns to Him void.
"Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders" - IF God loves all and died for all, why did Judas perish?

Here is an excellent sermon - 'the sweet savor of Christ' -https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=121310856333
by Rev. Steven Houck

" It is the duty of those who preach, defend, and promote the gospel to expose false prophets, false gospels, and false gods. God's glory and His character is at stake. The truth must be upheld and defended. It is not enough just to declare truth but lies must be exposed. The ecumenical movement is fueled by this compromise along with the spirit of antichrist.
The god of today that is preached about at 99% of churches is a miserable failure also. False prophets talk of a god who loves everybody without exception but lets the majority of them go to Hell. They talk of a "christ" who died for all without exception and the majority in up in Hell. They talk of a spirit that wants to save everybody but just cannot seem to convince most and the majority end up in Hell. This god spoken of today that fits this description is a god of people's imagination. It certainly is not the God of the scriptures. This means people are committing idolatry by forming a god in their mind that does not match the God of the Bible.
Pray for the deceived people but mock their god. A false god deserves no respect at all.
~ Scott Price

False gospels produce false converts..

"So if any wish to tell someone tomorrow (as I shall be doing) that Father God sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world, please do so in all clarity of conscience, knowing that you are speaking not the words of men, but the very words of God from the holy book."
God have mercy on anyone within hearing distance of this heresy.

'Savior of the world' -yet most perish. Rather, Savior of both Jew AND Gentile sinners, and only the ones God elects and draws.
"Now some will tick theologians off their "Not to be read again" list and eventually end up being the only one in the world who is correct." ..."To all my friends on SA, I apologise for ever having quoted John Gill, hypercalvinist, and will be removing him from my e-sword program." hmmmm........
" I do not stand with ecumenists." From J.UK's 6/19 9:35 am post. -"I greatly appreciate the title of this news story which shows at the head of each post: Billy Graham mag.."6/21 11:37 am post - hmmmm.....
Still waiting for evidence that any of the Apostles or our Lord spoke of God loving all and saving all to the masses as they preached. Many prove they don't even know what the true Gospel is. Truth must go down deep in the inner man before it can manifest itself with power.

Right Adriel.
When we take translated words at face value, the end result can be erroneous views.

This study shows the variances on 'world' - http://salvationbygrace.org/current-qa/about-john-316/
If one desires to know the truth, they will dig deeper. If not, they will cleave to their pre-conceived ideologies.

Those with discernment know 'world' has different meanings and usages - context determines that. We don't take the word of God at face value, it must be mined like silver- we must 'dig' for the treasures within. The elect know the bible does not contradict - if God says He hates, He elects, then we know that truth remains throughout the pages of Scripture. We don't change that lest we sin.
Being shallow leads to being stagnant, growth is stunted and 'more' will not be given to such a person. They will end up in the state of delusion.

BTW, the Apostles never spoke in 'English'.

""The Christ I love is the One you hate. The christ you love is the one I hate. We do not have two different views of the same God, I have a different God than you. He is precious to me and you despise Him. The christ that died for all and most are in Hell, I despise. As a matter of fact I spit on his grave because that is where a failed christ would still be (Romans 4:25). The bridges of false religion in my life have been burned down and cannot or will not be rebuilt. It would be like going back into the burning building I just came out of. What one continually spews out is evidence of what kind of tree they are.

Error begets error

At some point we must understand these things..
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Matt. 7:6
Proverbs 9:8
Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

Proverbs 23:9
Do not speak to a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.

Proverbs 26:4
Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be like him.

to resort to seeking to discredit someone is childish. Gill was fallible, to his credit he never taught the heresy of Arminianism.

It's so much better to defend heretics like B. Graham and mystics like M.G. isn't it?
Discernment is sorely lacking in those who do so, even more so in those who agree and defend such persons.

This is ludacris- "It seems obvious to me, that v18 shows there is something in the redemption of Christ for those who are still not converted and perish"
"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." That text is only unclear to those who do not 'hear'.
What a sad shape professing Christianity is in, exalting carnal minded thinking over the word of God: twisting, using opinions, error, adding to, taking from until you've created a 'god' that cannot save and must bow down to sinful flesh. This god just wrings his hands and is heartbroken that vile sinners won't come to him, he can't bring them because he has no power to do so, this same god also has no power to save.

"you will know them by their fruit"

"Some can only accept half truths candy coated with errors to make a new gospel."---

That is the formula for error and heresy to creep in and take over- compromise and ecumenism start this way. Professing Christians unite together regardless of the errors held to , the ecumenical pied pipers they laud over, the mystics they defend, etc. It all gets overlooked as they embrace each other.

Here is an example of why we must search the scriptures and not depend on the teachings of men....
Everard had no understanding of 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." Who is Peter addressing? 'US-WARD' meaning 'believers'. God is not willing that any of the 'us-ward' perish, and that all of the 'us-ward' to come to repentance. To make things worse, Everard combines Christ weeping with this verse and presents a different 'jesus'. This is how error is birthed, then like a cancer grows.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11
Our 'theology' should never be based mostly or solely on the writings of men, who are fallible.

'This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.' Acts 18 'More accurately' - carefully, exactly, distinctly'. expounded -set forth, declare
They did not use the teachings of men to correct, they used the word of God."these two doubtless had received a considerable measure of evangelical light and knowledge from the Apostle Paul, during the time of their conversation with him; and as they freely received from him, they freely imparted it to Apollos". J. Gill
We should be good bereans and examine carefully what men say and write concerning God's word. IF there are any discrepancies, errors, etc. we reject it wholly.
The Gospel is a command, not an offer or invitation. Everard errors in his wording and understand
