“ God's Unmerited Favor ! ”
How came it that I, a sinner, am running the race and winning the crown? The victory is being given to me by ALMIGHTY GRACE! It is as C. H. Spurgeon said in his book entitled Grace and Power (p.359): "Christ Jesus is the only escape for a sinner pursued by the fiery wrath of God, and every believer ought to remember this. Our own works could never shelter us, for they have proved to be only refuges of lies (Isaiah 28:17). Even if they had been a thousand times more and better, they would have been only as the spider's web, too frail to hang eternal interest on. There is only one name, one sacrifice, one blood, by which we may escape. All other attempts at salvation are a grievous failure." |

“ EDEN AGAIN ! ”
What a lovely promise we find in God's Word and that Pastor Foster expounds in this sermon -- Eden shall be restored! Those blessed days of perfect righteousness, harmony with God, perfect conformity to the principles of God's law are coming again. The Bible is abundantly clear that Christ's Millennial Kingdom will be a time of great blessing for the Jews and for all the nations on the earth -- "For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness LIKE EDEN, and her desert like THE GARDEN OF THE LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody" (Isaiah 51:3); "And many nations shall come and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem" (Micah 4:2). |

“ CHRIST'S REJECTION FORETOLD IN HIS QUESTION ! ”
"And what I say unto you I say unto all, WATCH" (The Words of Jesus, Mark 13:37). We ought not to be taken by surprise when we look at the lawlessness in the world, and YES !! the church, today. Jesus stated over and over to keep on the WATCH for those signs that point to His Return. Is not one of those signs revealed in this thought provoking question put forth by Jesus in Luke 18:8 -- "...when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" Bible commentator, Matthew Henry, writes: "The question implies a strong negation: No, he will not, he himself foresees it." Blessed are those who have eyes to see and a heart to believe that the "falling away from the faith" that we are witness to in the church today is one of those SIGNS that Jesus was saying "WATCH" for it because it tells what time it is! |

“ SELF MUST BE DE-THRONED ! ”
As long as ME is ruling and reigning in my heart, then I cannot love my brethren in the manner that Christ requires. To do THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT, the "control freak"----SELF----must die. As the hymn-writer says, "Let SELF be crucified and slain and buried deep: and all in vain may efforts be to rise again, unless to LIVE FOR OTHERS...OTHERS, Lord, yes, OTHERS, let this my motto be, help me to live for OTHERS, that I MAY LIVE LIKE THEE." |
