I have taken this post from another thread. Just finished reading the suggested booklet. While I might feel a little more strongly than the author concerning the KJV (though I am not KJV only) I would highly recommend that all who are sincerely interested in knowing the truth concerning the translation issue read it. Note that the author focuses primarily upon the doctrinal aspect of God's Word, i.e. inspiration and providential preservation (God's part), as opposed to the difficulties of textual variants (due to man's participation).

I would also recommend the following excellent series of sermons, located here on SA, by the same author.

Thanks WEB!

Read it yet John UK?

Now let's go from Apostilic succession to Is the Pope the Antichrist. Maybee we can get the thread closed before it reaches ten posts.

After listening to you and Rob Bell he may see no need to repent and believe.

What would you recommend him to believe if you had the chance to warn him?

IMHO the real Apostle Paul won't have made a very good Catholic "saint". The RCC probably would have wanted the "Inquistion" to speak with him and tell him what they required him to believe.

The only problem is this isn't funny at all. Precious Roman Catholic people are so decieved by their own religion that they will perish in hell forever in their sins apart from God bring them to repentance and faith. Something we should pour out our hearts to God in intercession for them that they might be saved.

Michael,

Sorry if I offended you! But I really think you misunderstood my intention. I really wasn't trying to be funny - I was very serious.

Romans 8:1 says, "[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

BTW, the NASB and most other modern Bible versions simply say,

"Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

As for the plight of those of whom you used to be a part, I agree with you Michael. What you say is so true - they need our prayers. I can sense your sincere sympathy. May God answer that affection of your heart for His own names sake.

Have a great Lord's day Michael!

Did Paul make a mistake and write a letter to dead people or did he write to Christians in the Philippian church?

Dead to the world people maybe?

Jim,

Why do you so often speak when you don't have a clue what you are talking about?

You'd be a whole lot better off studying a little church history yourself rather than sitting under those teachers who would misinform you. If you just repeat what they say you are supporting a very bad cause and you are going to give an account of it before God.

Thinking before we speak is very important, but prior investigation to correct our thinking is an essential responsibility. THINK ABOUT IT!

I am very curious, why is it that Pope John Paul II, who supposedly had the ability to confer sainthood upon others, was not a saint himself at the time of his conferring. In other words, he dispensed something which he did not himself possess. Another popish inconsistency. One of many...

What arrogant pride! What vain deception! What blasphemy!

Jim Lincoln Has An Agenda... TO DESTROY THE KING JAMES BIBLE !
Tony,

I think we can safely trust God to preserve the Authorized Version in spite of Jim's best (worst) efforts.

After all, men of greater abilities than Jim have been trying to destroy it for the last four hundred years and haven't been able to.

"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." Isa 40:8

If the flames of persecution can't burn it, why should a little hot air concern us?

wrong again, as you say, he's addressing all. Apparently "thee" is not always thee, pronoun, objective, singular, after all. Sometimes it means you, especially if a crowd is being addressed. But maybe it's because it's a single crowd. That works.
Your interpretation cannot supercede the Greek language Mike. If it does, you are forced into changing your interpretation. TRY AGAIN!

Replacing the Word of God by the so called "sensibilities of a 21st century audience" - Is clearly the act of rejecting God whilst pleasing evil hearted sinners and their abominable culture.

Well said! So true!

Mike,

Man, judged by the humanity he lived in, was by far superior in "aspects of value" 400 years ago and arguably as recent as 70 years ago. There is obvious differences in humbly accepting Gods Word, presented to us mere mortals, in a way that dominated the worlds explosion to the Christian faith for almost 4 centuries versus boasting over another version of the recent plethora that have presided over the great falling away.

Excellent observation!

Don't you ever get tired of saying the same old thing? And what, pray tell, has this news article to do with the Authorized Version anyway?

Give us a break Jim!

If you had to stay on topic, you wouldn't have a thing to say, would you Jim? Oh, looking back at your last post, you let someone else do most of the talking. That's right, parrots can only repeat what they have heard...

Interesting! This article is on a sight which claims to be a media source for LGBT. Doesn't that mean...?

BTW, if Voddie Baucham is a bigot, then so am I, on this particular issue, because I agree with him.

Good job Pastor Baucham!

I think the article below is more worthy of reading than the one above.
