Adriel- while there are a couple of incidents of cremation. Clearly, these were not preferable but allowances. Unprofitable- Most churches around my area are probably much like most churches everywhere else. They are out of touch with the needs around many around them and they put on their shows, living ,indistinguishably, like the world...embracing their idols and unholy days following a liturgical calendar courtesy of the RCs. There are exceptions as far as teaching. I know of 3 churches that are very sound in their teaching and they do some outreach. The others that I am familiar with are, which are quite a few, preach a watered down gospel and only reach out insofar as they get their young musicians to do contemporary junk at a local nursing home every 3 weeks or so. Even people at the nursing homes are turned off and often the only "preaching" which they have access to is the local RC church coming in trying to confuse them even further. Of course, all one has to do is search for churches and pull them up...sadly, most look like social clubs with everyone wearing skinny jeans...a kind of "k-love", cookie cutter mold, complete with perverted Bible versions. Even Christian radio is mostly tainted with a couple of exceptions.
Oh, that's right. It's worse than a bonfire. ...just trying to demonstrate the callousness, John. Burning a body is not respectful. The Bible says dust to dust not dust to ashes. I understand that some have been burned in their deaths but intentionally burning a body is something else. ...same line of reasoning for fewer funerals. So many families don't care for their own which is why you see so many people stuck in nursing homes. Sadly, you may be hard pressed to see any care for others in many churches. People gather together and go through the spiel and separate, going their own ways. We've come a long way from the church in Acts.
Vanity! If they really want something large than life,they need to know Jesus. The irony is that with the "advancement" of all of this technology comes greater despair. Simpler times had many advantages.
Atanael- you are correct. We are played like a fiddle by the media in this country and we are in a position that we will take any bones thrown to us. It is good to try to support that which is moral but we tend to elevate anyone who is not as bad as their "opponent". We must be a laughing stock to others with our "liberal vs. conservative war". It isn't flesh and blood with which we wrestle, but one would never know it. Many, as the media would have it, paint one group as good and the other as bad. Of course, we know that there are no political parties in Heaven.

It's possible that this guy really believes that he is justified in being a sodomite and he would be correct in saying that it brings him closer to his little "g" "god".. much like many professing Christians who have justified their affairs. Sadly, the desensitization of sexual immorality has contributed to the encouragement of other sexual sins (i.e. sodomy). If man makes the rules, then man's standards will, ultimately, be of none effect...much like a pot calling a kettle "black".
Those mocking...said "new wine" in ignorance just as those who accused Christ of being a wine bibber were in ignorance. Our joy comes from the new covenant through our Saviour's blood, not by way of a booze buzz. There is no comparison.
Buckeyes- In Luke 22:20 the cup = the new covenant in His blood. Oil is often a representation of the Holy Spirit. Wine is in the cluster of the grape on the vine (Isaiah 65:8)...clearly not alcoholic
so...in God's Wisdom, He has allowed for those who are carnally minded to interpret "wine" as alcohol in many instances when it is not and has given the distinction and discernment to those who are spiritually minded

Presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice and worshiping in spirit and truth are not to be considered just at a physical place of worship. We are the temple of God. It's not so much the attire we wear for church but how we present ourselves as a testimony at all times, at all places. Immodest at church is immodest everywhere else.

Mercy is with holding what we deserve,however, God cannot, ultimately, judge a nation righteously if a nation continues in abominable sin. If He could, as the saying goes, then He would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

A nation whose God is Lord does not continue to kill babies or encourage sexual immorality.
Chris G P, I usually agree with most of your comments and I respect them but I am a little confused as to how one who professes to be Christian such as (Pence), who came out of the RC church,can yet attend mass, RC prayer breakfasts, and give honor to it and still be born again. I understand that one may in ignorance or if they are very naive which would probably not be in the case of Pence. Of course, we need all of the bones thrown to us that we can get in this country no matter the source. We have been programmed into thinking that we have a "savior" in leadership who loves God. And, of course, there have to be the bad guys and the good guys all the while the country sinks. We think that God should bless us when we should be asking God rather to have mercy on us.
