Outstanding Sermon! What a faith building sermon and great encouragement. I can't believe how much Scripture is covered here. Thank you Pastor Marquedant, yes we need to count the cost and be ready for whatever may come. Hearing sermons like this strengthen us to that end. Praise to our Lord that we are not alone, He is with us. He went alone to drink the cup of God's wrath, but we will never be left alone. What love!
Great Sermon! It's really sad to think that every person is guilty of coveting. It's probably the first unconscious sin we commit. How very infinite is the depth of God's love to His enemies. How very great our Lord's suffering must have been to pay such a debt. Rom. 12:1-3 comes to mind. Great Sermon.
Note Worthy Sermon! I think pastors are hesitent to preach sermons like this one because they can be taken the wrong way. No one wants to get up and say this is the way I need to be treated. But, this is the way God says we are to treat our pastors and many of us will do well to learn what God desires of us. I don't always do what God would have me to do but I can't even make the effort if I don't know what it is. I love the sincerity of heart and life experiences Pastor Curley brings to this sermon. It really is important to the health of the church for Pastors to receive the proper respect, encouragement, prayer and help they deserve.
Excellent Sermon! You have to hear this sermon! I heard it some time ago but it came to my mind today, I don't think I'll ever forget the image painted by Pastor Dan of his father, I'm sure I won't. Justice and mercy met at the cross, I'm so very grateful for both. Thank you Pastor Dan for being so straightforward in your preaching.
Great Sermon! I wanted to make a comment on this series of sermons titled 'Difficult Verses Explained' not just this one in particular. There are 7 so far and they vary in length from 3 to 19 minutes. These are indeed difficult verses so it's nice to have a resourse available that is quick and to the point to refresh my memory, I really appreciate the way this is set up.
Great Sermon! Coming to understand God's sovereignty in all things, including salvation, changed my life and my relationship with God dramatically. An proper understanding of man's will is so important. This sermon helps a lot to clear up any confusion between the two; God's will or man's will? To God alone be the glory!
Great Sermon! I was totally ignorant about Theonomy/Christian Reconstruction. Now I feel like I have a good grasp about what it is. I also believe that this teaching was extreamly fair and thorough. If anyone is interested in knowing more about this movement then I would strongly encourage you to start here. Be sure and listen to part 2 also. Really, this is an excellent work from Rev. Schwertley, thank you Rev.
Great Sermon! Another good sermon from Pastor Steve. Since hearing this sermon I've been consciously aware of a question that keeps coming to my mind. The question is: am I a hearer only or a doer of God's word? Wow, I've been convicted and encouraged to order my life around God's word and not just hearing and nodding my head in approval that what I hear is good, holy and righetous. What good is that if I don't practice what I hear? Jesus' exhortation to the religious leaders of His day rings in my ears "Woe to you hypocrits!"
"...Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops." Luke 12:1-3 I think this sermon may evoke the same response in others.
Great Sermon! The series titled 'Difficult Verses Explained' is such a blessing. There are 5 very short lessons (this one is only 6 minutes) each one has helped me to better understand what are truly difficult verses.
Great Sermon! This sermon is excellent. I recently listened to it for a second time because there is so much good to be learned from it. It seems in our day we need to give a defence as to why we joyfully obey the 4th commandment!
Great Sermon! May man be humbled and God be exalted. Salvation is His plan, His work, His righteousness, His victory, His choice, His mercy, His grace extended to His people who can do nothing of themselves for they are dead apart from His love. I love this sermon and hope many will hear it.
Great Sermon! It's interesting how Jesus dealt with this man. I liked this sermon. Pastor Steve says "Legalist always find a way to keep the law." what a hard life it is to keep the law. What a deception to think one can. Our Lord's compassion shines through as He shows this man his heart's need.
Excellent Sermon! I pray I won't forget what I've learned, Jesus was always saying much more than I realize. It's amazing really, Jesus says "It is I" and it means so much from just a few words! How very important it is for us to read the whole Bible so that we can see the beauty of all that God has done. I'm so thankful for this faithful Pastor, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. What great treasures and joy are hidden in His Word! Praise to God for His love.
Great Sermon! There is a lot to be learned from these verses of Scripture. I didn't think the cloud had any significance, I thought it was just a cloud. I never though about why it was Moses and Elijah who appeared but that is an excellent question, I love the answer! Law and prophets, a picture of the entire Old Testament. Another good question was why couldn't the disciples cast out the demon? The answer is obvious now that I've heard it, but I always wondered about that even though Jesus gave the answer. Were they not fasting and praying enough? It was really a matter of who they were looking to. I loved to see how Jesus was magnified by their failure. The people were amazed, the Lord was glorified, how wonderful. There are so many good things I've learned from this sermon.
Love this Sermon! I love this lesson about Little-Faith. It has cleared up a lot of confusion I have in my heart towards professing believers who seem to be so unhappy and never growing in the knowledge of God and it seems even though they hear the word of God it doesn't bring them joy. I now have more compassion for others who struggle in this way.
An excellent sermon that goes with this one is, well two that are good are, "Faith, Given and Grown by God" and "Faith Great, Apparently Absent, and Faltering" All of these sermons together give great examples of various kinds of faith. Another good sermon about faith is "The Shield of Faith" all by Pastor Steve Marquedant, he is an excellent teacher of God's word.
