God stated very clearly in Malachi that He hates divorce. How very sad that the evangelical church has found it difficult to agree with with God on this matter. How terribly unfair this modern liberal attitude toward divorce has been to millions of innocent children growing up in evangelical homes now split apart! Besides the ugly damage it has done to the children, this carelessness has made a mockery of the notion of marriage being a sacred institution and one which the "gay" community has in the last few years exploited to the fullest. The evangelical church needs to own up to the fact that it is partly to blame for the SCOTUS ruling on same-sex-marriage.

We have yet to reap the full consequences of this irresponsible handling of Sacred Scripture! Shame on every pastor and theologian who reinterpreted Scripture to give people the interpretation their rebellious hearts wanted to hear.

We are rightfully shocked by the Muslim attocities committed against Christians. But let us not forget the Catholic and Protestant (yes Protestant) attocities committed against Anabaptists in the sixteenth and seventeenth century Europe, autrocities at times too horrible to describe. It's no wonder so many Anabaptists fled to America to escape the persecution.

God hasn't changed, neither has His Word. What has changed is our culture, which has produced an environment specializing in robbing people of their appetite for God.

These kinds of stories are saddening where we see great zeal and devotion but a lack of godly common sense.

Substance use and substance abuse is separated by a very fine line. Fallen human beings need safeguards in place to protect the innocent.

Buckeyes from USA writes:
TMC) The Amish have many sub-sects with bitter disagreements over brim-width and buggy style, so I'm not sure how someone can make such a blanket political statement about all Amish. Furthermore, the curriculum that many Anabaptists, Mennonite, and Amish use teach that voting is a sin. The saddest thing about the Amish is that most Christians do not realize that they are a works based cult. In most cases, all group Bible Study is forbidden and impractical as they are taught to only trust the Old German translation of the Bible, which many cannot read. Assurance of Salvation is considered vain, and Heaven can only be earned through strict compliance with the Ordnung (each congregation's list of rules).

Careful about making blanket statements, what you said fits some Amish but not all Amish. Many Amish and Mennonites are conscience Christians who know they are saved by grace and live to please God not man.

John Yurich USA from USA writes:
"Trump will win because he has been ordained of God to win."

Not sure how one should take a statement/proclamation such as that. Are you serious or just using sarcasm?

In 1960 the Amish and conservative Mennonites were placed under similar pressure to vote when Kennedy was running. They were told to make an exception about not voting because that their votes were needed to stop a Roman Catholic (which had never been the case before) from becoming president. Many then did vote (in violation of their conscience) but JFK still won the election. Thus they were left wondering who is actually in charge, God or man, and is it really worth violating ones conscience for a political cause.

Oh that more of us would see the truth and pursue the prize that counts and cannot be found on earth!

Also the blatant paganism of the Olympics is becoming sickening. The Olympic stadium is becoming a literal pagan shrine. Learning about the pagan history of this sporting event should give the Christian pause.

This would be funny if it wasn't so serious. People arguing over which candidate is the lesser crook, or which one is a little bit more moral, or which one will be a little bit less evil or at least slow the evil progression. That's nice, and then what?
As has been said before, neither candidate has the slightest ability to make America great or even better, they are in fact great examples of why America is not "great"!

John the Baptist confronted Herod with his illegitimate marriage to Herodias, where does anyone today confront Trump with his infidelity and multiple wives? Instead they rally around him!

Do we see a pattern here? Virtually every day now there is at least one violent attack by a Muslim somewhere on this planet.

I'm sorry, but this whole show business is sickening. Where is Ivana his first and only legitimate wife?

Trump says he wants to make America great again. Does he not realize his own lifestyle is a good example of why America is no longer great. He lacks integrity, faithfulness, fidelity, honesty, faith in God, humility, and generosity.

Alcohol abuse has caused caused untold misery, disease, sorrow and death in our cultures, why do people continue to flirt with such a trouble maker, especially when there are so many safe alternative beverages available nowdays?

Most churches today it seems can't bear the thought of being out of step with the world. This is how compromise comes into the church, even perversion.
