Moses and the prophets testified to Jesus of Nazareth - the foretold and long awaited Messias, the Son of God.

We believe their testimony, we do not believe in the man-made collection of fables und slanders known as the Talmud.

"Jesus saith unto him,...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father" (John 14;9).

Enough said.

they certainly view Mr Blair┬┤s religion with suspicion - if he was sincere when he regularly attended mass and took communion in the RCC until he was told he musn┬┤t why didn┬┤t he join the RCC officialy ? Scared of the effect on the voters ?

And if he wasn┬┤t sincere why did he act like that ? To please his wife ?

Either way he certainly seems to be a "nutter"

Jenny, not objecting to the biblical doctrine in Benedict┬┤s book, it┬┤s the untruths he smuggles in next to it.

Too many currants won┬┤t spoil your cake but a VERY little arsenic will ruin it -unnoticed - until it┬┤s too late !

If you mean the King James, it wouldn't do much good in Mexico, it's in English.
this is quibbling - which seems to be getting a habit with you - and it is no answer.

Anyway, when Bible Missions translate a Bible for the foreign field they translate the KJV.

Do you expect anyone to believe that, Jessica?
You can find many more "unbelievable" reports like that; eg:- in "Near to Rome, Far from God" - by a number of "ex-priests".
One of them relates what happened in a cathedral in South America when a mouse stole a consecrated host during mass.

What┬┤s so "unbelievable" about Jessica┬┤s story ? As recently as 50 years back a RC friend told us it was forbidden for them to read the Bible.

But it┬┤s to be feared that it┬┤s all equally "unbelievable" in your opinion.

No, English is my first language.
The problem is with your definition of the "elect": "Those, whom God knew would/will be saved by this Grace are called the elect."
see Websters Dictionary : -
"elect.......2) chosen for salvation through divine mercy."

Think again please - logically.

As one of G.K.Chesterton┬┤s Father Brown once said : -

"you attacked logic, that┬┤s bad theology."

Lance Eccles,
apparently you have a language problem.

God┬┤s Grace is sufficient to save all,

those, whom God knew would/will be saved by this Grace are called the elect,

the elect will be in Heaven,

in no way can God can be mistaken in that He fails to foreknow who these elect are,

therefore the elect are those saved by God┬┤s Grace and known to Him from all eternity.

An elect person is/will be saved. An un-elect person is/will be damned.

Or will He "bend His Omniscience" at the behest of the RCC ?

The Gospel is still preached in Germany; but, in the main, by individuals and in small "house churches". It is not, with few exceptions, taught in the official denominations - whether nominally Lutheran or Calvinist.
The trouble is due partly to the fact that, "state recognition" with all its financial benefits involves the acceptance even of "un-christian" legislation and consequently "obeying man rather than God".
The "Bekennende Kirche" - Acknowledging/Confessing Church - Underground Church - existed in Hitler┬┤s Germany, in communist lands and still exists everywhere in the world today.
This "State Recognition" - which began with the opportunistic Emperor Constantine - has been the downfall of many promising Churches and individual christians.

"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father┬┤s good pleasure to give you thre kingdom." (Luke 12;32)

If Tony Bliar had been honest with himself - snd with the voters - he┬┤ld have turned roman catholic years back.
He never attended an anglican service except on state occasions; he always attended the roman mass and he even took communion there until some Cardinal forbade it.
So now he┬┤s to be received into the roman church ?
Surprise, surprise

Sorry Jim - thought you wanted a german bible.
But 1000┬┤s of errors in the KJV ?
Only know 3 myself - Isaiah 9;3 -
1 John 5;7 -and 1 Tim 3;16.
All are rectified in Westcott and Hort┬┤s Revised Edition.
Ivan Panin┬┤s Revision based on Bible Numerics is well worth consulting.

He should look at the law-enforcement in Germany.
Youngsters of 8 or 9 band up in gangs and terrorize other children; teenagers beat up pensioners for a few euros - and they all have to be sent home.
Oh yes - they are asked please not to do it again.
"They┬┤re only children."

The german bible Jim Lincoln means is the "Elberfelder Bibel" first published in 1855 as a literal text by the Brethren and Dispensationalist Movement with John Nelson Darby┬┤s cooperation.
As Christian Raas writes, it possibly lacks the majesty of Luther┬┤s translation; but it is perhaps closer to the original.
It is still widely used.

Lance Eccles wrote:
Halloween was originally a pagan festival. It was Christianized by the Catholic Church, being made a celebration of all the saints in heaven.
Protestants didn't want to know about saints in heaven, so the festival has reverted to its pagan origins.
another twisted argument Lance -

the Catholic Church did not "christianize" the festival - she "incorporated" it.

Those born again (John 3;3-8)
go to heaven when they die but
they are not to be prayed to - see among other places Elijah┬┤s answer to Saul (1 Samuel 28;11-19)

Halloween has never been a "Protestant" custom and those born again do not celebrate it.

if it┬┤s not - Heaven will be empty.
At the very least, I won┬┤t be there.

"Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears for ever flow,
All for sin could not atone,
Thou must save, and Thou alone.
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee."

having been a medical practitioner for 40-odd years - including some 10 years assisting in the medical supervision of `red-light-districts` - my findings indicate that homosexuality was almost(?) invariably due to a deliberate choice following enjoyable experiences.
A homosexual potential may(?) exist - and why not, in our fallen state? - but the subsequent course is voluntary, and in God┬┤s eyes, sinful.

Nothing new under the sun.
First, `nominal christians┬┤ are enticed into a church offering `some sort of certainty┬┤ - then congregations comprising `nominalchristians┬┤follow suit and then it may well be that whole denominations - in the oecumenical movement for example - may go over `en bloc┬┤ to Rome.

These times are reviewed in Pauls Second Epistle to the Thessalonians, chapter 2; and in his Second Epistle to Timothy, Chapter 4.

The Gospel is plain for all that have eyes to see :-

"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else." (Isaiah, 45;22) -
and -
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;" (Hebrews,12;2)

Very true Jim - of course Lance is missing the point again.
If Catholic Church Law should prevail over Civil Law it means - as it did in mediaeval times - that "criminal clergy" should be exempt from secular punishment whereas "heretics" would be handed over to the secular arm to be dealt with according to the Churches verdict.
Nice prospects.

I agree wth you 100%.

The same situation is rapidly developing in England and Germany.

But take heart -

The Lord will overcome !
