Sorry Dirk, but I didn't find *any* answers in that essay, which contained many unsubstantiated assertions & special pleading.
Just one example: Any pastoralist will tell you that farming takes up almost *every* waking hour of the day, probably more than the std. 8-hr. industrial workday. Yet one never hears *this* type of "overwork" denounced. Just where does Mr. Beder get norms regarding how much work is too much? Scripture? Not a verse was cited.
And what does overwork have to do with this article's claims?
Dirk is sorry you couldn't see anything there.

Why don't people read the English Scriptures? Too busy doing meaningless work. Can't read while you're making widgets. Can't read while you're sleeping.

Or, if one is slaving away at something supposedly meaningful, one still can't read the scriptures whether awake or not.

Too simple even for the great philosophers!

Jim, Dirk Yoder is still wanting to know who Caesar is. The president does not make war nor issue decrees so please tell us who Caesar is so the believers can worship him.

Steve, it doesn't appear you have defined the dollar as it is found in "U.S. law."

The point of my comment regards more to the unexplainable system ordained by man that he himself cannot explain rather than the dollar itself.

You say Caesar and his coinage, so do mean that the head of the federal reserve is Caesar?

Since the president can't make war nor does he issue decrees, then he is not a Caesar, so please stop saying that he is and expecting people to worship him.

Click on the links Jim and have your buddies take the challenge. It will do the world much good.

Reformed Presbyterian wrote:
The apostles told these same magistrates that when what they commanded of them was contrary to God's commands they must obey God rather then man.
"And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, and Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem..."

[I don't see a "magistrate" or "civil ruler" here.]

"...And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye."

"...And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men."

[Don't see one here either.]

I wish sermonaudio would get up to date on the wests participation in such matters...The western culture is made of the same nature as this African one--but the west has learned how to mask it better.
Dirk Yoder says amen to that.

Child sacrifice is also conducted by vaccination.

Parents also dedicate their babies to the heathen at birth when they voluntarily register them.

"Obama: 'None of Us Make It on Our Own' Without Government Help"

Jesus: "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

"Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

"...And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."

Good morning folks. Aside from those chem-trails that have blanketed the beautiful blue sky, it's a lovely day.

You're just making your gibberish more unclear by not answering. I didn't ask if anyone should give the president some sort of respect. How is the president Caesar or a king? He is not referred to either nor does he act like it.

Jim Lincoln wrote:
Yes, you give the President the very same respect that you would give a king in the Bible. How clear can I make it!

When one tries to obey the commandments of men and conform to his foolishness by merely asking questions in a professional, polite manner in order to be a good little citizen of the world, he or she is usually met with mockery as the questions posed cannot be answered. The following are interesting reads, though false teacher Gil will probably object.

The question is simple and it means simply what is asked, and you have done a terrible job at avoiding a simple answer (again). Since you believe the president is Caesar, tell me why.

Jim Lincoln wrote:
The command to respect one's political leadership is a timeless command! By the way you won't get a vote in the millennium or the following eternal kingdom.
If you don't like the leadership here, go to Canada, perhaps they will be more to your liking or Australia or New Zealand?
Oh, am I rather happy the Founding Fathers weren't Christian (but in some cases good Free Masons)? They didn't have any Biblical hindrances in disobeying their leadership. Were we better off by the War of Independence, probably. Were the Southerners right in revolting against the Federal government in the unCivil War, No!
(Yeah, you caught me, I'm definitely a Yankee!)

It appears you read and watch a lot of so-called Christian entertainment stuff. It sure is exciting and entertaining. Just not scriptural.

Believers are being persecuted all over the world, even in America.

You may want to research if man has developed technology that can make people disappear.

"Because humanity is what it is, because we're such selfish, easily corruptible beings, the American system doesn't work. The Constitution doesn't work. Replace everyone in Washington with "decent folks" like you and me. Shrink the size of the federal government to what it was 200 years ago. Start completely over, and we'd eventually find ourselves in this exact same predicament.

"The answer then is not to reform this failed, evil system. The answer is to abolish it. Decentralize, get rid of the Constitution, at the very least return to the Articles of Confederation.

"And this is why I don't vote. Because voting just grants legitimacy to the slave masters and their wicked system. By voting, we give them the right to claim that they're just doing our will. Representative democracy and all that [bullstuff].

"It's time to stop playing their game. It's time to do all we can to undermine their tyranny and fight for liberty."
