Brother Christopher, we were in a chapel service at a local rehab center last night, not street preaching. I didn't want you to get the wrong impression. There are some very effective street preachers, and some who just act like nuts. While true Bible preaching always offends some people, as often as not they are simply turned off by the preacher himself. I would like to ask you to pray again for me as I am preaching, Lord willing, to a much tougher crowd tomorrow morning than to a group of drunks and dopers. I am referring, of course, to a church congregation.
Good Testimonies! Encouraging!
For humor here, I find it easier to speak with prisoners in jail (or prison) than to children; IMHO people who can really speak to children where they genuinely understand are truly gifted and enabled by God (CH Spurgeon rejoiced that children could understand his sermons) ... but especially to "church people"

Dear Mr Brown
First praying for you as there can be a lot of hurt, sometimes inflicted by those professing to be Christians.

Here are links to two articles I found when I came across a Pastor popular with an ultra strict interpretation of Scripture sermon titled: Must I Divorce My Remarriage? that might be helpful to you

No, I am not a 5th degree black belt, but even as simple as I am I can kind of tell the difference between RESTRAINT and A PRIDEFULL SELF-RIGHTEOUS RELIGIOUS HYPOCRITE

John UK Sola Scriptura Man
The Sabbath is sure a matter of conscience in the NT

On one side some seem to want to nullify it for their own convience
While on the other side some sincerely want to keep it in a way that honors Jesus Christ; their conscience taken captive by and to the word of God.

Kind of like the man who knows God's word commands he love his wife; but excuses himself if she has gotten too wrinkly, over-weight, grayheaded, and wears clothes that aren't in style, or isn't as interested in his marital prowess as when she was younger etc. etc. While another man taking Scripture seriously studies how to love this helpmate, made in the image and likeness of God, wrinkles, mistakes in the check book, accidently forgetting his birthday etc BECAUSE Jesus is worthy of it

Dear Kev
I probably should not be wasting time God has given me posting here, as it seems "a spirit of meanness" has possesed many of yous alls.

Maybe I should remind you of this, with genuine born again believers God writes His Law into our hearts and minds ... So we are not under the LAW but DELIGHT to do His will

6 Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired;
My ears You have opened;
Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
7 Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is written of me.
8 I delight to do Your will, O my God;
Your Law is within my heart.”
Psalm 40:6-8

Yes! Even a right NT keeping of the Sabbath

‘Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you. You shall keep the Sabbath, because it is holy for you. Everyone who profanes it shall be put to death. Whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord.
See Exodus 31:12-18 esv

Jesus did not nullify the Sabbath or any other of the 10 Commandments did He

You probably need to humbly honestly study this

Brother John Sola Scriptura Man in wales
I love you my brother

What an excellent worthwhile message to hear this morning!

Now briefly since this thread ought to be saturated with Sola Scriptura, I am remembering the Roman Centurion at Capernaum in Luke's Gospel 7:1-10

It says, when he heard of Jesus [and this same Jesus told us the Scriptures bear witness, true witness of Him, don't they]

In my words here, this Centurion, non-Jew, but who loved the Jewish people etc.

Knew this Jesus he was hearing about, was a man under the authority of God,
who was graciously and mercifully exercising the authority of God, essentially using the Power and Authority of the Kingdom of God for undeserving/people unworthy of it and people who were insignificant to society

and he, a Gentile, put his faith in Jesus that He would heal his servant ... and Jesus did, honoring him for his great faith, which in my words here, the 'insiders' Jewish experts in theology failed miserably to hav

Dear Brother John, Sola Scriptura Man
Like it.

And Scripture gives us much to consider:

At this time:
To the man who comes to Jesus He Promises:
"... I will in no way cast out."

BUT to the man to whom He comes, he might say something a bit different:
"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."
Rev 3:19,20

Interesting don't you think

We shall begin at the mighty revelation of John Baptist, when he declared to all who could hear him,

"Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

I also say to all who read this, "Behold the Lamb!"

Brother John
Yahweh Himself is the Righteousness of His Prophets, and let me stress here of those who KNOW HIM; and John the Baptist is indeed for those who are willing to hear it, the greatest of those born of women.

Scribes and Pharisee in whatever zeal they might have for the "Tradition"/Teachings of "their elders" are NOT Prophets; and shouldn't be listened to as Prophets, especially when they make it out like what they are teaching/demanding is infallible

Scripture is clear; Jesus Himself telling us, that unless our righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees one will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 7:13-27 ought to be sobering for all of us.

John the Baptist certainly proclaimed the One whom we need, the One we must absolutely have to be our righteousness

So, I also say to all who read this: "Behold the Lamb!"

And He Himself has told us: 'The one who comes to Me I will in no way cast out.'

Ah yes, dear bro, "self-identifying by what we are against". I have sure done that in the past.
But I have repented of that.
And am much happier, and have greater peace.
I have been focussed all week on a 13 word sermon, for which the preacher had been spending a lot of time alone with God in preparation, in a desert place, continually talking with God his Saviour. He was a weird-looking man who wore weird clothes and ate weird food, but he was well known to God and did all his will. His message to those Jews who came to his baptism was:
"Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world!"
Thanks also to Bro US for your comments
Oh my! It looks like John the Baptist was continually telling people of Jesus Christ too

With everything that is amiss we are so tempted to self-identify ourselves by what we are against

And fail to tell people about Jesus Christ.
Dear C.H.S. was continually "guilty" of telling people of Jesus Christ, and urging them to personally believe on Him for everlasting life.

And if we ever visit any Church and He isn't there, maybe we shouldn't be either, except maybe tell them of the One they somehow are missing.

Yes, Billy and the RCC is a heartbreaking issue
No born-again Child of God ought to have any partnership with the RCC; no matter how good they preach the Gospel

We ought to lovingly humbly evangelize Catholic People with the Gospel, and with hearts torn up for them in their sins against the God they only imagine they are serving [when they are really blaspheming Him] telling them the Truth of Christ, urging them to come out of her and be holy unto Jesus Christ, pleading with them to be saved now while it is the day of Salvation

I am NOT a Calvinist, that said I honestly have to admit many Calvinists/Reformed have been a blessing to me, and people I would call Brothers and sometimes even colaborers for the Gospel

So please do not missunderstand if I fail your expectations and do not "attack" it is because I do NOT want to harm the good God has brought to His born again people through men like Spurgeon, Whitefield, Ryan Fullerton, Paul Washer, John Pipe (yes, sometimes imperfect men)

Maybe that will help you, or maybe not

If I may comment a little more about praying for an unbelieving wife, raised in a Roman Catholic religious upbringing

It is kind of like people who are "trolled" as the Roman Catholic Religion really doesn't have respect for the conscience of individuals and seeks to bring people into bondage to their "unquesitonable authoritative dictates"

Praying for you Christopher that God might grant her to realize, genuine Biblical Christianity is NOT Religious Bondage as Wolves would twist it into

BUT Liberty and Liberty is precious to God

Gal 5:1 KJ21 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

We simply do not put a gun to someone's head and demand them to love Jesus or we will beat you and maybe kill you.

We tell them the Truth of Jesus; as He who loves them, is of immeasurable worth, completely and fully deserving all our Love, our very best, who will in no way cast out anyone who comes to Him

May God break this RC misconception and flood her heart and mind with the Truth that she might freely Come to Christ, weep over her sins, surrender her life entire to our Risen Lord and know the Power of the Gospel in her Salvation

Christopher, I trust God has many who love you and pray for you here on SermonAudio

So for those who are "into intercession" may I offer that we agree in prayer that God would mercifully, graciously, powerfully leaving no doubt He has done it, openly and publicly especially in the eyes of Michelle and all her friends, vindicate the faith He Himself has given you in Jesus Christ

May He honor in this day our our Brother's need, in whatever form it takes
"Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you."
Rev 3:9

And give her, her own personal Damascus Road encounter with the Risen Christ
because Jesus is Worthy of all our love, worship, service and trust and our Brother belongs to Him.

Good Morning! You all

Brother John, woke up thinking about
Shepherds
and
Wolves

Scripture speaks a good bit about Shepherds, those who please God and those who don't

But the Word of God also speaks about wolves, doesn't it

Both Shepherds and Wolves love sheep, don't they; and I trust you already know this ... but NOT for the same reason

The Good Shepherd, Loves, Serves and Lays Down His Life, so the sheep, His sheep who hear His voice, might have life and have life more abundantly

Wolves (Cannibals who devour their own kind) who are NOT sheep who maybe hear the Good Shepherd's voice BUT CERTAINLY DO NOT FOLLOW NOR OBEY HIM, love to have the sheep, even the Good Shepherd's sheep if they can deceive/bewitch them for their dinner, breakfast, supper and snacks

Jesus vs the Pharisees illustrate how differently they approached Scripture; in the mouth of Christ spirit and life

In the mouths of Pharisees, a tool to bring people into bondage to them

This isn't a song, but it ought to make a believer's heart to sing with delight in the fear of the Lord and with love for our Savior

Yes! My Dear Brother it is quite a beautiful and encouraging song:

Anyway we seem to getting far afield from the immeasurable importance of the Bible in language common people can read and understand.

John Wycliffe for one comes to mind.

The utter hostility of those under Satan's control to do his will is stunning. Dig up his bones and burn them? Wow! And they came to do this in the name of the official church? Get out of town!

If memory serves me, am I remembering correctly there are actually places today where you can get arrested for having a Bible.

Time to sing some more!
