And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:14‭-‬17 KJV

Bonny...

We preach the good news to everyone. Whoever has ears to hear it, and is saved, is Gods business. As for you and me... preach the good news.

Its simple.
--

Christopher...

In my opinion, these long threads come from the desire of some to show how much they have figured it all out.

Ps...
Please keep my wife and unborn son in ypur prayers. Labor should be coming any day. I pray the Lord would protect my wife and child. And that HE would cause this child to be born natural as HE intended it. Amen.

Dr Tim...

I appreciate your last post. This is the kind of discussion that I've had with some others on this site. And like I said before it's challenged me to consider these things. I have looked into it. I understand the passion of the issue. What I have seen over the years since my conversion is several different types of Christians. Some barely study and care little about versions, somewhat charasmatic(and yes, i know a true brother in the Lord who is like that). Believe me, i see the problems with that.

And i know some who are heavy into study and are more heavily reformed in their doctrine. I can appreciate the latter. Its a noble path. But i also see the latter has bogged down some into a corse, academic only type of walk that shows little power amd little appeal. Not a lot of joy visible.

There has to be a balance and grace to all things.

Im ok if we agree to disagree.

But i do thank you for your graceful post.
Have a blessed day.

Bro john...

You know me bro. I know the issues that weve discussed before. I use esv and kjv and compare.

Its the attitude of some kjv onlyists im trying to point out.

Its the mindset that some kjv onlyists have, that if you don't graduate to kjv only, you are poor student and lazy.

This elitist attitude is unfortunate.

Doesn't please the Lord i think.

Off to sleep.

Since you cut/edit my posts. I will do the same.

"Lawful","shame", "disgrace".
""Pragmatic","lazy","self pleasing ".

My point exactly.
You can have the last word if it pleases you.

B mc...

Thanks. Im aware of both sides of the issue. I understand the conviction on the issue as well. Any attempt to distort the word is serious business. I think about my own conversion. The version i used(and still do) was the ESV. When i had my new birth, scripture that used to be foggy to me was pouring out of my mouth from my inner most being. As though i had memorized it, which of course i hadn't. But guess what... what was pouring out of my mouth was not the KJV. It was the ESV. I would hope that all KJV onlyists would stop and ponder that. I often think about the brothers for a thousand years that had no bible at all. What troubles me, is that it seems a lot of KJV onlyists don't want to tackle that dilemma.

Relationship!

May I also add that I have had very pleasant conversations with people here who believe in KJV only. I've been challenged to consider what has been said on this topic. Whether I've been wrong. But it was handled gently in love. And at the end of the day I wasn't treated as foolish for not conforming to a KJV only mindset.

A soft answer turns away wrath.

Brother Frank... sometimes too much study can create tunnel vision. Its good to study, but we must always remember its about relationship. Whether its the KJV,ESV,NASB, the central theme is a relationship with the father through the Lord. That transcends books.

Hey Chris. Always a pleasure to speak with you as well. Conversation with you is always a pleasure.
You bring up my point exactly. Its about extremes. Its not just a KJV only thing. Just seems around these parts some pile on ,looking down on anyone so foolish as to not know that the KJV is the only word not tainted. In my opinion this stance hasn't been fully thought out on all the angles.

The mockery of KJV onlyists is nauseating some times. I wonder if the layman can be tolerated by the academically elite. This elitist attitude doesn't please the Lord i think.
