People will always label what you say in a negative way if it is not what they want to hear "hate speech" is a euphemism for dissent and hate speech legislation will eventually be used to silence all dissent and opinions that are not acceptable to the new society.

One might also want to consider the source, the Washington Post is not the friend of Christians and never has been and for them to target Christians using anonymous anecdotes should be questioned.....but of course there are many Christians who want their ears tickled as well and eagerly accept this as fact.

Ad hominem is always used by those who build up their straw men, when they try to divert from the issue at hand.
Proof....your many posts speak volumes.
You don't seek fellowship...only a forum to rant about how wrong everyone and everything is, and only you have all the answers......
Then you should be able to quote me saying I have all the answers, you should also be able to quote me saying everyone else is wrong....by all means quote on any of these things, your problem is that I sound like I'm standing upright instead of crawling on my belly to the likes of you.

The issue at hand is a handful of women who are rarely seen here unless a female gender specific issue comes up,the last one was the issue of women having children out of wedlock, one poster said some rather harsh things and the sisterhood came in and chastised everyone for what one person said.

Card carrying feminist? That's a hoot sonny.
I am an old married lady who has been a keeper at home and raised children and grandchildren, all my married life.
You need to wash out your mean spirited mouth!
Repent therefore of this wickedness.
Still no creativity, first off I am not your "sonny" and you are typical of the feminist Christian variety, you spout the narrative then claim you have nothing to do with it.

If you had any credibility you would document your false accusations with proof, you can't so you do the best you can....I understand and its ok.

Strat, the big joke was "the compassionate conservative," that babyface Bush pushed when he first ran for President. People kept laughing at him so hard that he finally stopped saying it. Something like the ]]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffett_Rule has to be implemented, we know for certain a Republican controlled government won't do it.
The biggest joke of all is that you can make work and responsibility an option instead of a duty and have a successful society....when those who work and contribute receive no more than those who don't the circling of the drain begins for everyone....this will happen because of the increasing demands of those who feel they are entitled to everything that those who work and produce have and will use their vote to get it.

Strat also needs to repent of his slanderous posts of some of the sisters here on the forum. He comes across as a spurned man who some gal took to the cleaners, and his venom comes out at some of the ladies who post here.
Well sure, every card carrying feminist assumes that any man who opposes them does so because he couldn't get a date with one of them, because in their feminist mind women are the center of every man's Universe....please try something more creative....you're boring me....realy would love to stay and chat with you lovely people...but us evil political activist misogynist need to go to Walmart every now and then....have a nice day.

On some subjects you are a liberal, let me say again that you define me as a political activist when you know nothing about me or how I spend my time away from here, you are here doing the same thing, which is commenting on political issues...now within the context of your definition of political activist what does that make you ? especially when you claim to have no interest ? is having an opinion now considered activism ? if so then what are you ?

Can you quote any post where I have stated loyalty to any party or candidate ? since you claim to know my post so well and that I have never said anything good about God or the gospel ?

Well if you have no scriptural examples of your form of philosophy, then it may be important for me to share with you the gospel of Jesus Christ, which thing IS biblical, and bring some form of benefit to you by way of the salvation of your soul.
For example, I've never heard you say anything about salvation through Jesus Christ, or how wonderful the gospel is. You never speak of the Holy Ghost or God the Father in endearing terms. Your whole life is taken up with being negative and calling Christians here "liberals". Something wrong, Strat, and I am concerned for you.
Scriptural examples of doing good and standing up for righteousness when one has the opportunity ? where would you like for me to start John ? what book ?

I will try to find scriptural examples of do nothing pew warmers to if I can

Now you are just lying,i have spoken of God,the gospel and salvation many times, endearing terms ? my own terms John in my own way because I am accountable to God and not you...repent of your lies John.

Let me give you something to think about, you don't know me or anything about me only that I post here on political issues, you define that as political activism, you are here doing the same thing, what does that make you ?

Politics affects my life, sure, but I have no involvement nor interest in it. If you think I ought to, please show me scripture which teaches that. I am not the one living by philosophy but by the word of God, and thus far you're more than a bit hesitant to put anything forth from what God says.
From the scriptural angle, I am exhorted to pray for those in authority, which I am quite content to do. But it is not up to me to set the laws of the land.
Then why are you here posting comments on almost every topic most of which are political ? if you have no interest that is....nothing better to do I guess when your philosophy is doing nothing

What you are trying to say is that the American form of government is not scriptural or biblical, and if given the chance to vote for against something like abortion the biblical approach is to say I don't care,it doesn't matter...I am a holy man of God and above such things...all I can say is thank God for the few pagans that do care and help save us from the nightmare the holy man of God would have us live in.

Strat, I am looking for scriptural examples for political activism. What's up, can't find one?
Political activism ? is that what you call voting or supporting a political candidate,i can understand your perspective living in the country you do.

Americans under our form of government are given the responsibility to influence government in many ways and when the people believed in God and righteousness our government and laws be they less than perfect made an attempt and preserving Godliness and we were blessed for it.

Other than posting flowery words on the internet and criticisng anyone who doesn't what is your philosophy ?

You are not being honest, one can easily search your post and find that you in fact are interested in "politics"

My philosophy is completely scriptural, responsability towards God and man for my actions, acceptence of consequences be they good or bad for choices I have made and will make, law and order, freedom and liberty....find scripture that says otherwise.

Some of you are quite clever at hiding your contempt for the Jews, but it is still obvious despite your best efforts.

The Jews are defending themselves against their enemies just as you would want America to do if you had to live under the same circumstances....they will continue to do so and there is nothing any of you can do about it.

When the enemies of Israel begin to gather together get ready for your world to be turned upside down and to never be the same again.

It would be great if you realised that God loves us Christians as well as the unregenerate and ungodly Jews.
It would be great if you realized that God has used the Jewish people to demonstrate his faithfulness regardless of man's unfaithfulness....the Jews unregenerate and ungodly ? does the bible say that salvation is of the Jews or gentiles ? who is the source of salvation ? was he a Jew or gentile ?

Penned, all of that just because Jews are defending themselves from destruction from people who have sworn their destruction ? would you like to see all of their weapons taken away so their enemies could sweep in and kill them all....this to you is "love of neighbor"

What do you mean, "speak against it"?
Do you expect me to waste my time filling out the online forms which our guv puts out for those who disagree with guv policy? Or collect signatures from thousands of people, going door-to-door to gain some political support against the guv?
What I'd like to see is some new covenant examples from the new testament which address this political involvement. I've honestly never come across any, so I would appreciate it, being shown from God's word, and thus from God himself.
But then, spiritual soldiers are to not get involved in such things, which is why the nonconformist dissenters in England made it a point of their confessions that church and state were to be separate.
Or do you hold to the Calvin Presbies, who were very much involved in the state and state laws?
Like I have said before, its no wonder England is finished and to the degree that we have such people in America we are finished as well.

Well, there was me thinking that God was the author of all things, in accordance with either his active or his passive will. Maybe he's not as Almighty as I imagined. Maybe he's a little god who was made by puny men to put on their shelf.
Tell you what, Strat, you put forward something to edify me, what exactly is it that you want me to do about, for example, the abortion laws of the UK? Please base your answer on some scripture, as I am a sola scriptura man, and a whole-Bible man. Thank you.
Realy ? what does the bible say about dishonesty ? specifically your claim that you are not interested in politics yet have definite stated opinions, which is your right, on just about every issue here.

What do I want you to do about it ? I don't expect you to do anything other than not participate in evil and speak against it at every opportunity.....that is biblical.

Now you're talking like the Calvin Presbyterians, who wanted to bring in a church/state, where righteousness was enforced by law.
Can't find any biblical support for it.
Now you're misrepresenting what I said to cloud the issue,i never said anything about a theocracy,America is not nor ever has been a theocracy but our laws were based on biblical principles....nice try tho....for one who is not interested in "politics" you certainly have had a lot to say about it since I have been here.

I suspect that like most liberals there are certain "morals" you do want to see enforced by law...specifically "free" stuff taken by force from one to give to another.....no biblical support for that either

"Politics" is a label created by people who want to compartmentalize life and act as if certain things don't matter,if they are of the Christian persuasion then they assume that the God of all life cares about some of it but not all of it....using this philosophy as a guide.

Abortion is not the murder of children, its a "political" issue and therefore not a concern for the heavenly minded, same with sexual perversion,crime,corruption,blasphemy,etc,etc,ect.....God just doesn't care about that stuff....he's not interested in "politics" either I guess.

What I am saying is if Jewish immigration can come in to Palestine and force the local Palestinian off his land which he and his family have occupied for multi-generations, then it should be nothing as far as effort is concerned to move Jews off their land that they took from the Palestinian and move some where else in the world for the sake of peace. Why would you steal some ones land and not expect them to want to defend it. Christians are to be peace-makers--not republican neo-cons who support war. This war is about Israel taking Palestinian land on which are heavy natural gas fields--war through economics. May the Peace of Christ be upon you--Shalom!
Typical rabid Jew hating nonsense, the same two choices given to Jews...go away or die.

The very fact that Jews are so universally hated lets me know they are loved by God.

The liberalism I am speaking of is both political and religious and its effects are not easily dismissed with a collection of nice pleasant words.

The one dimension, one sided Jesus you mention is well known here,he gives everyone a pass on everything they do,all dogs go to heaven, all is ok,all is allowed and excused.

We also have folks who are just as good as you are at collecting nice pleasant words as a solution to the pain and misery that abounds because of our one dimensional one sided "Jesus"

The Jesus of the bible said I have come to fulfill the law and not one word of it will be removed, the "Jesus" we have says righteousness and a changed heart doesn't matter because I came to make the rest of the bible with its harsh words and penalties for sin null and void.....yes,we here in America know the "Jesus" you speak of.

The Joel Osteen school of dealing with sin....say nice things and it will go away.

What with SteveR pronouncing his anathemas, and Strat branding all of us Christians liberal, there's never a dull moment here in the Smoking Room of SermonAudio, where we can all lay back in our armchairs and discuss the affairs of the world in perfect peace and serenity, smoking our pipes and spreading the daily papers out, occasionally grumbling and being negative, thus annoying the man in the next armchair.
Anyone out there doing anything?
Not all are liberals but they are here, all one need do is examine the prescribed liberal narrative on any subject and compare to determine.
