Dr. Mohler seems to be preparing "his brand of Christians" for any scientific research that may discover a biological causation of homosexulity. Dr. Mohler says if indded there is a connection between biology and homo then this should affect our pastoral approach to those who lead such lifestyles. But do we need science to teach how to love the world? I am very surprise that Dr. Mohler, an evangelical leader is so accommodating to Science that undermines the truth. Dr. Mohler fails to realise that though our bodies have been affected by the Fall, it is not the body that initates sins. It is the soul. The body is only the instrument the instrument of sin.Jesus says "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and definle the man" (Mk.7:21-23). O how I long to see the day when when and women seek to move the world not with their proud intellect but their effectual prayers. |

Shawn: 1)The ultimate purpose of the "strong delusion" is to judge (i.e. condemn) because God is righteous. His judgments are always just and fair. 2) No, the purpose for judgment is not found in v.11a. The phrase "dia touto", "because of this" is not a purpose but a causal clause. The purpose clause is found in verse 12a "hina". Note that god sends the strong delusions "so that" (Gk. eis to with the infinitive of purpose) they might believe what is false. But they alreasy rejected the truth. Hence we see in these few verses God's sovereignty and man's responsibility which are difficult to harmonize. 4) "Otherwise, Gid would be punishing for not having faith he didn't give them...court-marshaling a soldier for not shooting bullets at the enemy, when he wasn't given weapons and amminitions in the first place." The problem, though, is, we are the enemies. And God was not obligated to enlist us in His army. But if He did, He will certainly aem us mightily. 5) Granted the term "aparche" may be translated "from the beginning" or "firstfruits". However, we cannot escape the fact that God chose the Thessalonians to salvation. Whatever we do in time, God decreed in eternity. |
