My stats are wrong, sorry about that. 34,000 is deaths in 1968, 70,000 in 1957. I don’t know how to resolve this. I’m afraid our Lubbock ME is right, the sole purpose of Covid is to kill people. In a flu pandemic you already have a vaccine system available. But, Covid was politicized and we’re not out of the woods- can’t wrap my head around that everyone in a nursing home was exposed. Why?

We averaged 30-40 occupancy in a unit capacity of 300.We’ve had 520 cases with 255 recovered and 42 deaths.
Look up 1968 Hong Kong flu, it has the same numbers. Only, back then the government didn’t shut down the country and didn’t collapse the economy.
It appears our economic medical wunderkinds have been running a good game of panic. They needed to tell food processing plants, troubles headed, but that only works if you actually care about our nation.

QC good comments- what does a nation do when it no longer accepts natural law, moral truth and common sense as a basis for rational planning during a crisis. We end up going economically bankrupt. Our mooring lines are snapped and we are adrift. People can only survive so long on the diet of elections and popular culture before their left with nothing to show for themselves.

The Chinese are laughing all the way to the banks. Go to church, but don’t sing, leave your bible at home, keep your wallet at home, and make sure your pastor doesn’t preach anything against the government. Yep, the Communists were among us all along. Lord in heaven bring revival that will disrupt this malarkey and save souls and the church building themselves will cry out.

Simple solution- give up your phone, dump the whole Kit and kaboodle .
Our lives were so much better with a phone on the wall and 4 channels on the the tv.
No 24 news channels, and narcissism is only for reporter, and Hollywood type.
The vanity of purposefully childless females and habitual unemployed young men would be a thing of the past.

Lockdown works if your guaranteed a monthly state funded salary. Unless you can prove transmission is due to incoming traffic or the inability for people self isolate, then there has to be an alternative to shutting down an entire city. Governor needs to get out of Santa Fe and drive to Gallup or this will look like a racist act.

Are the citizens of Gallup being cared for? I know for fact that donations for the citizens on the Rez are becoming a problem. Kit Carson lives again.

I think that the issue of Native American rights may come about in this situation. What is the death toll and what is the person to person transmission rates ? Are people being exposed from coming into certain areas? And what does the health professionals say? Otherwise, she too is on Biden’s short list for VP. Control and restrictions makes this governor compete with communists everywhere,

The point made by Chrigp is correct, but de Blasio was married in Havana. He’s a communist and probably will be rewarded by serving in the Andrew Cuomo administration (when the dnc determines to push sleepy joe aside).

The chaplains who want their colleague court marshaled for providing information in an email would be best served in the Russian GRU or east Germany’s Stasie or what ever political officer we need to keep the troops in line. Can you imagine working in an office with all your office mates wanting you fired. Goofy John Piper, hope you support the man instead of your’meh, attitude.
Wfen John was talking about church shootings, he insinuated that one should accept this as the church will be persecuted. Not if you can run away or return fire.

China is the evil empire. All they have to do is have another “ wet market “ accident and they’ll use it as a weapon. The Vice Premier of China basically has said as much. If you threaten the world with a virus, and at the same time denying it came from your nation ... you can’t have it both ways . What China needs is an Islamic uprising. And fast.

The Christian Post comment section on this story is appalling. As Christians we’ve become myopic, we only see in front of ourselves by 3 feet. Yes, we need admission to our neglect of a salvation that we would be compelled to spread the gospel. Instead, we’re satisfied with our zoom Sunday school meet and 295$ highland goat skin bibles. We’ve become a museum piece for for the lifestyle section in a Bible museum. We seem satisfied that our neighbors are going to Hell and lucky us, we’re the chosen ones. Revival yes, but repentance above all else. Then and only then will there be revival. Lord have mercy on me, a sinner.

When you are able to walk out of a pandemic with a surplus and a measurable GDP, ifs as if Kruchev took all of Western Europe without moving one tank from its garrison in East Germany.
I read where Putin could implement his plan to take Nordic ship lanes by a simple act of force. This could face a new President soon after our online presidential election in November.

Amen MS and Lurker, amen. Wonder if they’ll be a fly by honoring 65 million unemployed US citizens or worst , will we be paying people to stay home as opposed to working. Politicians are still dumber that a bag of hammers.

And for all the bailout money, was there any if not a wink towards roads and highways? No, well that’s how you build and economy long term. Not by giving money to Harvard , not the NBA or gambling dens ( one in the same), where’s the money for rural roads and bridges? The demonrats in congress doesn’t want a bridge or farm road built with a chance it’s called the Donald Trump highway or bridge. Yes we got our stimulus check, but I’d give it up if a farm road in Lubbock county could be paved and smoothed out.

We were able to walk in a McDonald’s in Missouri and order , but weren’t allowed to sit and eat. Got to Lubbock and only pickups or drive through windows allied. CNN keeps rotating some doctor from Asia talking about how businesses will close and employees will stay home for the year , then open up. Umm, no, the business will close, owners may be in bankruptcy court and employees will mow lawns or repair fences or roofs. I’m tired of the CNN, WHO , NYC economic model of despair. This virus will end when we are all exposed. So, perhaps we all open our business, with 40 percent occupancy and by appointment for personal services . Our economy is a service economy. I tend to believe we diversified ourselves into destroying our economy. Not enough tradesmen and too many nail salons and tanning beds. The doctors, lawyers and such helped tip us over like an outhouse on Halloween night.

Just wait till the public schools get the CDC rules on opening schools. “ all students must be 6 “ from each other “, all lunches will be in classroom. Well in Texas , some classrooms had 22 students per room. But under these guidelines, schools will have to divide the classroom in half to put 11 students in morning and 11 in afternoon. Then close on Friday to clean up for Monday. Then school will be year round to cover time lost. Year round school, well parents will say, yippee, unless they say , nope, we’re staying home and staying safe. Homeschooling will be the trend, because parents deserve a choice, since the constitution was basically suspended for Covid.

First a virus that collapsed the western economy, now this? I got in trouble on a zoom meeting because I used a barn yard term for “ we should encourage families to be present in the moment and center themselves into mindful opportunities “. Whereupon, I exclaimed that I stepped in something that smells bad. That will get you in trouble in this hide in place era.
