JY, I am going to tie two posts together here. You wrote on another thread, "Whatever church someone attends and belongs to that is the religion that they are." Thank you for pointing out that the RCC is another religion. Unfortunately, many of the Protestant churches are of that same religion, denying the scriptures, instead following tradition, bellying up to the world, and denying the Jesus of the Bible. I would, therefore, change it from Prot/Cath to true believers/another gospel. By your own admission, you are still lost because you consider yourself a part of the RCC , and would rather identify with them then with those who are truly born again. Now if we could just get GG and Lance to figure this out.

GG, David was a man that the Bible tells us was after God's own heart, yet in Psalm 139:21, "Do I not hate them Lord, that hate Thee?" You show you hate my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Not the Jesus of the RCC, which is not the Jesus of the Bible, but a Jesus molded into the image that the RCC finds fits its agenda best. You place Him below Mary, you crucify Hi anew every day, and you trample His precious blood underfoot by adding to His finished work to gain salvation. You place His Word below your tradition, your church, and your Pope. Then you expect me to "tolerate" you? I DON'T THINK SO! Repent of your false teaching and different gospel, or at least get off this site dedicated to growing in the understanding of our precious Lord and Savior, the biblical Jesus Christ! If you don't, you are my enemy, because you are God's enemy! Also, Paul cursed those who preached another gospel, so those words were his, and ultimately, God's, because the Holy Spirit inspired him to write them!

GG and Lance, every time you post, you trample underfoot the shed blood of Christ. Lance-"but Jesus covers all your sins with a cloak of righteousness.Better hope that God doesn't take a peek to see what's under the cloak. He'll throw you out fast if He does." You can do a better job of covering your sin than Jesus' blood? I will trust in the blood of Christ over my good works any day. He paid the penalty for my sin. I have only to live for Him. You preach another gospel, thus, with Paul, may you be anathema!
GG, you not only trample Christ's blood underfoot, you mock and humiliate Him. The Bible is completely true and it speaks of a real place called hell where thosse who reject the finished work of Christ on the cross will go. You trust your traditions, your church, and your Pope, all fallible. Yet you will not turn to the spotless, sinless Lamb of God as your only hopee. You to preach a false gospel, and so with Paul, may you be anathema!
Enough tolerance of false gospels! Enough being nice with these heretics! Let's hate those who hate our God and His Son, just like David did! Let's refuse to entertain their error and let's refuse to cast our pearls of God's truth before these swine. America is perishing, and we play! Shame on us!

My message this morning was titled, "When does God bring judgment on a nation?" This article backs up what I preached. We are becoming more and more like Sodom (maybe we've already "out-sinned" them). Our politicians are corrupt, our preachers are compromising and God's people are complacent. Judgment IS coming to America! Is it to late, I hope not. Will it be easy, NO! Must we wrestle with God for the soul of our nation, without question! Will God's people rise to the occasion? Only YOU can answer that question! God, have mercy on our nation; for Jesus' sake and for the sake of our children. If you will not show mercy, then please, raise up prophets who will cry aloud and spare not; and prepare for yourself a remnant that will live, and die, for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ!

Would it be possible to get this thread off the stupid argument about Calvinism (I'm beginning to think that some of you have brains that can't hold anything else but Calvinism), and get back onto the topic? Revival is an absolute necessity for the church in America. There are Calvinists and Arminians and every stripe in between that needs revival, and we need it now! Quit your stupid debating over words, hit your knees, pray for revival, and come back with something of substance, please! The hour is late, the church is floundering, and souls are going to Hell!

Publican, I, too, have been the target of strawmen accusations that set me up as a heretic and unsaved. You have tried to be very clear in your posts, and some people refuse to accept it. Just thought I would help Also, I always try to be ready to give an answer for the hope that lies in me. May all of us, regardless of some minor differences in doctrine, be able to exalt Jesus Christ!

I would like to ask this question of all in this discussion, but especially those with the opinion of KK that we should christianize America. What do you suggest we do? You write over and over that "we the people" must rise up. First of all, true christians are not in the majority. The numbers that 80% of Americans are christian is bloated because MOST are nominal christians. So, what's the answer? Take up arms? Riot in the streets? Flood the courts with cases like the ACLU? Pray? Preach? How about answers instead of ranting!

To all of those attacking Publican, he is not advocating evolution. Even if the first three days of creation were longer than 24 hour periods, maybe even thousands of years, it would not be advocating evolution because the only life created in the first three days was plant life! Publican says he believes that from the fourth day on were 24 hour days. He also stated that creation and evolution cannot exist side by side. He believes in creation. His only question was about the time frame of the first three days. Get off his back! Theoretically, what he stated could be true and still not have to give in to evolution.

Amen, Michael! I think these charismatic charlatans that you refer to are even more dangerous than the RCC. They quote the same Bible, give a watered down version of the same gospel and entice people with health and wealth. We materialistic Americans buy into it hook, line, and sinker and it is going to send people to hell just as quickly as RCC heresy. By the way, did you get my letter in the mail yet? If not, it should be there soon

Lurker, thank you, you don't know how much your words encourage me, "I believe far too many "pastors" think they have failed God if they do not fill church pews by preaching enticing words but the Word properly preached never returns to the Father void." I am in my sixth year as pastor at this church. Last night I had a man who has been here for over 40 years, turn and walk away from me in disgust because as he argued with me about my preaching, I told him that his problem was with the Word of God, not me. Unfortunately, this is all to common. The night before that, I had a man in our men's group (a member of my church) tell me that I need to sit down with the RC priest, a woman Preby minister, and a sodomite loving Methodist pastor to try to come to some consensus on how to reach our community. And a year ago he sat in the congregation while I taught a series on biblical separation! We claim to be a Bible believing church, but for some reason, when it comes to obedience, we balk. Why? I am thankful for so many of the godly folks on this site. Thanks to each one of you who are true to the Word and striving to live for Christ. Every pastor would love to have folks like you in his congregation!

Publican, sorry it took me so long to get back on track before. I'm not complaining, but my weekend was VERY busy. This week won't be much better since my oldest daughter graduates on Saturday. What I want to do though, is print out your last post and spend some time chewing on it and comparing it with scripture. I've never really thought about it. We talk about the power of God speaking, and I am thankful to have to really think about it. Get back to you soon, brother.

Lurker, I agree with your comment to Derek, "Love for the lost weighs heavy on the hearts of every Christian born by the will of God but we can't let that love turn into misguided zeal and diluted (polluted) easy-believism preaching with no power to utterly condemn the dead sinful hearts turning them in complete hopelessness to cry out for mercy to the only One who can save." A a pastor, I have seen far to many "believers who are tossed about by every wind of doctrine. They are often weak in faith and don't share the gospel of Christ out of fear. I think the biggest detriment to the gospel message is the lack of power over sin seen in the lives of many christians. Instead of experiencing victory over our sin, we excuse it as a biblical doctrine that we must sin every day in word, thought, or deed. How disastrous to the cause of Christ and His body

Publican, amen to your post to Abigail and saved by grace. So often we get into these debates with unbelievers, when their greatest need is salvation. I agree with you that God doesn't give us all of the details in the Genesis account about strict 24 hour days. Having said that, I do believe that every one of the seven days was a literal 24 hour day based on some other verses. Check out Exodus 20:8-11. God explains the reason for the Sabbath day rest. It is because He rested. It is an example for us. God worked six days, rested one. We work six days and rest one. Jesus re-iterated this thought in the NT. Just a thought. God bless you, Publican.

Michael H. Good day, brother! It is such a shame that GG, and others like him, choose to be willfully blind. Your points are valid and right to the point, and yet, GG will choose to shoot them down. Not only do they teach that Mary was a perpetual virgin throughout life, but that she was born of a virgin herself. Scripture clearly points out she was a sineer and that she also had other children.
We have seen all to often the evidence FROM SCIPTURE that RCC doctrine is false, but GG, and other RCCers have been lied to enough that they will believe anything the Poop tells them. Tradition, the Poop, and the church itself carry far more weight in their eyes than does Jesus Christ and His Word. We need to not only continue to stand for the truth, but war against the spiritual forces that keeps these folks bound. I pray that we will see deliverance and salvation for GG, Lance, and JY, among others.

Publican, I don't think the Bible actually says. However, we know that there will be no sun in the new heaven and earth, the glory of God will be the light. Maybe that's what illuminated the earth those first three days.

GG, your problem is not with us "dufus's", it is with the Bible. You choose to place tradition and the Poop right up there equal to it. The Poop says baptism and the church+Jesus will get you to Heaven. The Bible, and Jesus, says that He alone is the way. Your feelings, desires, etc. don't matter, and neither do mine, when the Word of God tells us something. You must choose:your way or God's way, you can't have it any other way.

Will, you sound more like a disgruntled apostate than a scientist. I would give you a link if I though you would read, but young earth creationists use the SAME FACTS that evolutionists do. The only difference is that the facts fit better with creation and a global flood than they do with "from goo to you".

Lawless, I will not respond with "accusations" since your actions speak for themselves. I will only say, why do you hold to a different standard than you expect others to use for you? I.E. "but he has no idea what I believe (obviously), preach (obviously) and do for God (obviously), only by the grace of God." The same is true for every individual that you have mocked, accused and scorned on this site. You take one Bible verse, which I did confess because I teach that we need to take EVERY word in scripture seriously, and use it to beat others over the head with. many other confessions from scripture have been posted for you, and yet the only one that matters to you is the one in I John. Why? As a preacher you must know that we are to preach the WHOLE counsel of God. Or is it that by relying solely on this one verse you can lord it over others? I love bold preachers, I am one myself. But I refuse to bully others into something just for my sake. Think about it. And I hope, for the sake of our precious Savior, that you will not come back with some smart aleck comment, but instead, an intelligent reply that we might be able to build upon.
I just read the post where you apologized. No one expects you to back down from what you believe. Thank you for the apology and I look

GG, "Therefore, I see the Church preeminent with a three legged-stool to rest on....the Magesterium (the teaching arm of the Church), Holy Tradition, and Gods Word. The three must work as one to support the Body of Christ." Who gives a rip what you see? From what you say, it's a four legged stool...you forgot the leg called GG. Your church, or any church, is not on equal footing with the Scriptures. Neither is the Poop nor any other man! Jesus alone is our Mediator...the Living Word; and He has given to us the inspired written Word to guide and teach us.
