It's interesting to me that we seem to be American Christians instead of Christian Americans when it comes to politics. Between the two, Hillary and Donald, which one would you stand before God with a clear conscience having voted for? Our civic duty cannot Trump our faithfulness to Christ. We of little faith. I'm not trying to be self-righteous. God has delivered His people through their righteous actions, not their compromises. Trump and Clinton are offensive to God because they are unrepentant. They are therefore offensive to me and are not worthy of the office of President.
I'm kind of amazed at all the Ted hate out there. I'm with Cory from mi...lets see what November brings, then we will know whom the Cruz's we're hearing from. And what's up with a Mother Jones hit piece as a source in this forum?!?!?
Not so sure you are correct. I don't believe you are very well informed on London churches or indeed 'Justin Welby'- a very poor choice to represent anything ‘Christian’-a strange ‘evangelical' on record as celebrating ‘the riches of Benedictine and Ignatian spirituality’ and is ecumenical in his praise for the pope. (note the 39 Articles of the Church of England!) He worshipped at Holy Trinity, Brompton, where the Alpha Course was pioneered. These sort of ecumenical/charismatic/Pentecostal type churches may be growing and attracting immigrants, but are they really the work of God? It isn't always the Biblical gospel that is being preached, but rather the ‘Jesus’ of ALPHA portrayed more as a ‘Solver of human problems’ rather than as a ‘Saviour from sin’
You should examine the solid churches in the UK on SermonAudio who represent those who are faithful to God’s Word. Few are large in number, but they evidence the work of God’s grace. One such church would be Spurgeon’s old church: The Metropolitan Tabernacle-Dr Peter Masters.
I would submit that outside of London there is far less than 1% attending church and in some areas you can travel many miles before you find any faithful Christian never mind a church!
Don't forget the 1st part of 2 Peter 3 vs.9 which says, "long suffering to us". Peter is writing to believers (2 Peter 1 vs.1;2 Peter 3 vs1) and are a different group than the scoffers in vs.3. It seems clear to me that it is the elect that He is not willing to perish and come to repentance. If God desired everybody to repent and be saved could He not do it? John 5 vs.21; John 17 vs.2; 2 Timothy vs.24-25.
I am a little bewildered by some of the Brother's and Sister's comments about Franklin Graham. He has a large voice. He is taking a strong stand for the truth. You may question his motives, fair enough. But praise what is praise worthy. And besides, Php 1:15, 18 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will...What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
Amen! Man is dead spiritually and therefore unable to do anything on his own. Yes, that means that he cannot make a "decision" for the Lord of his own choice. The Lord Jesus told the man with the withered hand to "stretch out your hand". The man under his own power could not do so, but through the power of Jesus, he could and he did. So it is with salvation...Salvation is of the Lord!
Has the day of rest changed? Reggie -
I like your sermons. Just wondering if the Sabbath day has changed? If so could you preach on it? This verse is old but I'm told our God is the same one who pened this. "Ihate the double-minded, But I love Your law. You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word. Depart from me, you evildoers, For I will keep the commandments of my God! (?Psalms? ?119?:?113-115? NKJV)". God Bless-Scott
To all who read this from outside of Australia I just wanted to say that whilst I personally did not attend any of these protests I have relatives and friends who did. There were no clashes of protesters at either the Brisbane or Adelaide rallies. The counter protests organised by the left had less than 50 people show up in both cities. The protest was primarily against halal certification which is being revealed to be money laundering rort that is basically functioning as an Islamic consumption tax on the general population with little or no control over the way the money raised from halal certification is being used. In other words many believe it's funding terrorism. Always remember our media here is left biased to an unbelievable degree.
Good Argumentation MacArthur states in his study Bible in the study notes on John 7:53-8:11.
"In spite of all these considerations of the unlikely unreliability of this section ,it is possible to be wrong on the issue, and thus it is good to consider the meaning of this passage and leave it in the text, just as with Mark 16:9-20."
Great Sermon! Thank You Brother for your strong stand. The Lord is sovereign and this is just another example of "we will not have this man to rule over us". You have my prayers as you contend for the faith their in Idaho.
Hey Rodney...like to see you preach for that amount of time and walk away saying: "that was self serving". Haha. Probably stopped being "self serving" 6 or 8 hours into it...I'm just saying.
Attacked??? I expected the article to reveal she was physically attacked...Western Christianity is bizarre and out of touch with the rest of the family of God who know what attack means. I don't mean to be critical. I just wonder how long American Christianity escapes persecution.
Great Sermon! Very good series of lessons on John 3 vs. 16. I recommend each of these lessons if one is interested on what Jesus is teaching us in John 3. I appreciate your study on this very important subject matter. It is very dangerous for people to go around telling people that God loves them.
