Sometimes terminology gets overwhelming. Here's a word picture:

a farmer knows the seasons and takes a seed and plants it into the ground. He knows the kind of seed and knows what kind of fruit it will produce.

Taking the pill is like poisoning and thinning your soil into dirt, then planting a seed, waiting for the plant to sprout, then tearing the sprout out of the ground and stomping on it until it is crushed.......and then calling yourself a farmer.

The soil is the lining of the womb.

The sprouted seed/new plant is the newly conceived human life.

Of course, in the case of pumpkins, you may be stomping out a pumpkin seed that is sprouted.

In the case of a human, you may be stomping out your forming child at a week after conception.

This is the pro-life stance, right? That we don't end a pregnancy on purpose?

The birth control pill both PREVENTS CONCEPTION and PREVENTS A CONCEIVED LIFE FROM IMPLANTING IN THE WOMB. (a woman normally ovulates every cycle, a woman on the pill will usually not ovulate, breakthrough ovulation is used to describe when she does ovulate while on the pill. a woman who uses this wonderful work of technology for many years will likely experience both the contraceptive and abortifacient effects.

THE BIRTH CONTROL PILL IS BOTH CONTRACEPTION AND ABORTIFACIENT. Someone please prove me wrong.

It was so much easier for me when I could put things into their little categories. ANd then God stepped in and told me human life is not a segmented mass of evolved monkey tissue!

Goodness, when did Christians have to become evolutionists to speak of our unborn children?

zygote, fertilized egg, feutus, abortifacient.

I mean, seriously, do these words really make us sound more intelligent?

Many birth control pill(bcp) inserts explain that the third mechanism of pill is keeping a fertilized egg from implanting.

In prochoice circles a fertilized egg means nothing. In prolife circles a fertilized egg is a newly conceived life! We say life begins at conception.

The question here is not if Dr. White is a good guy, or not or legalistic, or whatever.

The question is, does the bcp ever end a newly conceived life in the womb? (if the fertilized egg is rejected at implantation, which is about at week after conception, then a miscarriage occurs) If you believe the inserts of the bcp companies, that is indeed true.

The problem here, is that Christians don't want to have this discussion. I know because when I bring it up with strong believers the subject drops to the floor like a lead balloon!
