Actually the traffic circle idea was tried extensively in the 50's and 60's and while they are now gaining popularity with city planners, they don't work too well with multilane highways with lots of traffic; especially if there are large trucks involved.

The best way to avoid accidents is to drive carefully and soberly.

Fuzzy,

Your comments seem to paint Puritans with a broad brush. Granted Hawthorne did paint them as ones who cast a cloud on the sun, but perhaps you should read a bit further.

The puritans sought to purify the church for God's glory by emphasizing these truths: (1) minds stayed on Christ, (2) vibrant spiritual life, and (3) a dynamic religious culture.

Perhaps a good book to start with is The Devoted Life: An Invitation to the Puritan Classics, Intervarsity Press 2004.

You might read Anne Bradstreet and see the gospel. http://rpo.library.utoronto.ca/poem/217.html

It is interesting that Yahoo edited the statement made by Dr. Chiyome Fukino. Her statement as delivered by the department was this:

"I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawai'i State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai'i State Department of Health verifying Barrack [sic] Hussein Obama was born in Hawai'i and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago."

The President's name is misspelled and we must guess what documents were reviewed. If there is nothing to hide, why is it being hidden?

“ Representative of Fundamentalist Baptists? ”
Dr. Sweat firmly distances the Baptist Fundamentalist movement from the Calvinist doctrine and its leaders. He uses 2 Cor. 11:3-4 to say Calvinist teachings are deceitful. He asserts that "Calvinism has never, in the history of the world, survived the generation of a charismatic leader....Fifty years after Spurgeon was dead the baptist movement in England was also dead....Because their [Calvinist]theology will not support church growth and evangelism...if you believe their[Calvinist} doctrine or theology you will not win souls."

It reads "birth control pills." This includes pills that are commonly called "plan b." Plan b is to take the pills within a period of 72 hours after "unprotected sex." The pills then prevent the "ferilized" egg from implanting itself in the uterus.

Maybe that is contraceptive, but it sounds like abortifacient to me.

A distinction needs to be made between contraceptive and abortifacient birth control. Bible Thumper and Castanet evidently believe that "birth control" only exists in the contraceptive forms and are choosing to ignore the evidence that states birth control pills also act in an abortifacient method.

You may want to look at ]]From Protestants Against Birth Control and ]]"Birth Control" Pills cause early Abortions.

The article says "Barbara Barrick, the women's ministry coordinator, said she looks to Deborah, a prophetess and judge, as a biblical example of a female leader. Ennis cited Abraham's wife, Sarah, and Queen Esther as other women called by God for special missions."

Perhaps Mrs. Palin is a Deborah. But after she said she agreed with Senator Biden that they both support homosexual rights I am wondering if she isn't Jezebel.

Yamil,

The quote you attribute to Spurgeon is most often cited as coming from The New Park Street Pulpit, Volume VII, page 225. The only problem with this is that The New Park Street Pulpit, has only 6 volumes, and as far as I can find there are not 7.

Do you have a better citation for this quote?

Perhaps Judge Jorge A. Solis is saying that FRN's are not actual currency.
