Mike wrote: Are you a dancer? I might have to call you Fred! Now you want me to read a book. Isn't there a simple answer to these questions: "In other words, what goes on within a person to get him to vote in such a way as to set up whom God wants? To say that the people are the means God uses to elicit votes from themselves doesn't work. What are the means used on the people?" Is there a particular place I should go in Pink's book to find the answers? To these questions? Don't be afraid, or lazy, just read it!! |

DJC49 wrote: I hope that you are not implying that homosexuals who have genuinely been redeemed have no further struggle with the sin of homosexuality after their conversion. Seems to me that Scripture indicates that theirs would be an on-going battle within their carnal nature even after become new creatures in Christ. The idea that someone is instantaneously delivered from all their former snares and weaknesses holds no water especially in light of Romans 7. Ah, but....the victory is in knowing that whatever we were we are no longer!!! The snares and weaknesses are, according to Romans 7, without real power over us since we are dead to the law. It is a matter of what we are going to believe!! |

Call me uninformed.....but how can something that never happens, i.e. conception, which leads to a fertilized egg, which leads to an embryo, which leads to a baby, be considered murder if the 'victim' never was formed, hence could not become a victim, actual or potential, in the first place??? What did I say???? |

But remember Molly a Christian was once whatever he or she was. Now they have been washed clean, sanctified and justified, NEW CREATURES not merely reformed sinners. (1 Corinthians 6:11) The idea of celibate homosexuals is for the apostate Roman Catholic church not the Protestant Church. |

Name that tune!! If you click on all four players at once it sounds like, either the second movement from Darth Vader's theme (played backward) or the Twilight Zone theme but missing a whole bunch of other parts! |

Mike wrote: That is whole counsel, hey? However, it doesn't answer the question: You said: "I guess that you do not understand the whole counsel of God. He sets up whom He will but through means. Your individual vote does not put anyone in office apart from His sovereign will." I asked: What are the means God uses to elicit a particular vote from an individual voter, in order to put into the presidency the one whom He wants? In other words, what goes on within a person to get him to vote in such a way as to set up whom God wants? To say that the people are the means God uses to elicit votes from themselves doesn't work. What are the means used on the people? Please read ]]http://www.reformed.org/books/pink/index_sov.html You will understand better. |

Mike wrote: I'm ready for the whole counsel, as you understand it. What are the means God uses to elicit a particular vote from an individual voter, in order to put into the presidency the one whom He wants? The means are the people yet the people are not sovereign. |

Helloooo evangelicals. Remember, it is God Who ultimately sets up and deposes kings and rulers, not men!! Our next President is up to Him (Daniel 2:21) |

Remember that lady with the grilled cheese sandwich / holy image thing?? Well I've been working on a pancake / Last Supper thing. At present I have a pancake with 10 1/2 disciples with no feet, 75% of the upper room and a large scorch where the holy grail should be. I'll keep trying though! |

Oh sure, offend Christians and it's "so what", offend Muslims and it's "we sincerely apologize for any offense this may have caused." |

Neil wrote: "music writers can communicate deep theological concepts in a way that is more accessible to the younger generation." That's laughable! Where do they get these clergymen - crack houses? When young, I wracked my brains trying to figure out what the Beatles' lyrics actually meant (if I could even make out the words). I've since learned that in pop music, lyrics are either double-entendres, heavily metaphorical, or deliberately ambiguous, when they aren't mind-numbingly repetitive. Perhaps these clergy believe that "life is deeper than logic," so the specific lyrical content doesn't really matter. In which case then, going to the Men's Room is no different than going to church - both can be uplifting spiritual experiences. Neil, you're showing your age... |

According to a recent 'BibleThumper' survey, 100% of all Americans believe that ALL politicians merely say what they think people want to hear just to get into office. Of these 100% still vote for the same old politician types, regardless of names or party, every 4 years. Fully 50% 0f the 100% think that 100% of politicians tell the truth 0.1% of the time. 30% say that it is more like 0.899 %. The remaining 20% are undeciced but tend to lean towards a 0% figure. |
