Unprofitable Servant,
Why don't these Scriptures apply, again? Num 16:26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins. Psa 26:5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. Psa 82:2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. Psa 97:10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Psa 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. Psa 101:4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. Pro 4:14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Pro 15:9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. Pro 17:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD: Pro 18:5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

Unprofitable Servant,
I know the conversation has strayed away a bit, and you may be busy, but I never heard from you on why the Scriptures I quoted don't apply to this current situation. I would be interested in hearing your perspective on that.

Justin Ty Me,
You believe Obama's a Christian! Do you think he's done good job?! All Cruz has done is point out his harmful policies, nothing about hate!

Frank wrote:
Ah, abortion on demand. Is that scriptural or should he say abortion is always murder?

He has said abortion is murder. And of course it's not Scriptural! Nobody is saying the murder of children is Scriptural! And he does oppose homosexual conduct. And the positions he has taken have made him very unpopular with the establishment, etc., because he stands for what's right rather than "pandering to a lost society". Since when is opposing abortion popular? Taking such a stance is clearly not pandering. And he is humble because he cares more about God and other people then himself. If you don't think he's Christian enough for you, than that's your perogative, but I see his fruits. Of course, that's IMHO!

P.S. Cruz does serve the Lord first and foremost in his life, beginning every day on his knees, and informing his decissions with Scripture. This is why he stands for what he does, and why he strives to serve his fellow man.

Verses,
I made it clear that I believe women should stay at home if able. I was merely pointing out that others interpret this differently. I was not saying they are correct, just that they're not unsaved because of it!

Frank,
The proof of salvation is all in one's fruits. Neither Hillary or Obama have the fruits of a saved Christian when they support abortion on demand, gay marriage, etc. Cruz, on the other hand, does have the fruits of a Christian. He has fought unashamedly for life, and he opposes gay marriage. As President, however, he would not have the constitutional authority to have the Federal government decide the marriage issue. Our Constitution gives that authority to the states. He can and will, however, remove the supreme court decission on gay marriage, because that decission was unConstitutional. He will also fight to stop abortion. When he speaks about God, he is humble, and it shows he is truly a believer.

for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Frank,
Show me the verse where it says "if your wife doesn't stay at home you're unsaved"? Different people are convicted differently on this issue, and just because some people understand a matter differently than we do does not make them unsaved. I, for one, believe women should stay at home, but I can understand how some may have differing understanding on passages such as this:

Pro 31:10-31 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her

Just Exodus? You yourself said "the OT is very applicable, all Scripture is profitable...". So now that we've established this is consistant throughout the Bible, are we going to choose to ignore certain passages from Proverbs and other books of the Bible, or are we going to apply them? These verses make it very clear we are no to support wicked men. So are we going to ignore these and vote for a wicked man who has not repented of his wickedness anyways?

One thing we need to realize about Mr. Trump is that even though by the grace of God we have been redeemed and given a new nature, our heart via our flesh is still deceitful and in need of constant sanctification and mortification. Such "were" some of you, the Bible says and it is only the grace of God that separates us from acting just like Trump.

Yes, none of us are saying we would not be wicked without God's grace. The only problem is: Trump doesn't have God's grace, makes a mockery of Him, and promotes wickedness! And the biggest problem of all is: he hasn't repented for it, he still does it, and he even prides himself on it! The Bible makes it clear that the righteous are not to support the wicked:

No the OT is very applicable, all Scripture is profitable, just not to what to what you are trying to attach it. Your application is what is in error, my friend, not the Scripture you quote.

How do you even know my application? I just posted verses, nothing about direct application of each of those verses.

Christopher000 wrote: Inferring that US may be of the mindset that he discounts the Old Testament, considering it irrelevant, was pretty disturbing, JayJay. I am not JayJay. We have already cleared that up on another thread. And I was not accussing Unprofitable Servant of disregarding the OT, I said that was one of the few ways to argue, imho, that the verses I quoted do not apply. I also said she could argue Trump wasn't wicked. Those were the only two arguments I could think of that could be used to argue the verses don't apply. Unprofitable Servant may very well have a different argument, but I couldn't think of one. And thank you!

P.S. The only way you can argue these Scriptures don't apply is if you either discount them as OT, thus irrelevant (which would be false), or by arguing Trump isn't wicked. All I can say is, good luck with that!

Unprofitable Servant,
2 Samuel 23:3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. What part of "I change not" do you not understand? Psa 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. 1Pe 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. All of Scripture applies! 2Tim 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Isa 57:21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. Jer 4:14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee? Jer 23:19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. Hab 1:4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth. 1Co 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 2 Samuel 23:3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
