It's as though the Lord is speaking right to the good mayor... 'you thought I was altogether one such as yourself'.

And I believe His Honor has used the wrong form of the word. His idea is that in the eyes of the law and of God, 'You shall have no discrimination.'

Absolutely, ErnieG

Just as the timetable for any given people has always been the reign of their king; the entire world has it's measure of time based on the reign of the One Great King.

I say this with an almost painful humility, Christian Rass, and Wise; may the Lord bless your resolve. It is virtually impossible to comprehend how difficult it must be to relinquish that which I have personally never had a desire for. My prayers and praise for you both in the strength of our Lord. You are our 'cloud of witnesses'. If you can overcome such an enormity; what will be our excuse for the failure of putting away lesser sins?

Religious scholar

I've been wracking my brain to come up with something clever concerning this inanity. The best I could come up with is; didn't Rodney King suggest this same thing several years ago?

Fredrick,

Remember that 'there is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared'. Pray that the Lord will give you ever fresh visions of Christ and His cross, and that He will break your heart and your chains. There is no other way. All the advice in the world may as well be advice of the world without it. In the end, it is not only all, but the best we can do. We can only fight for you by your side, not in your place. Our love for, and remembrance of you, brother.

Gotta go with you there, Neil. I find no biblical impetus for the celebration of the birth of our Lord.
Look at the results of it.
And any eight year old could figure out that if there
is more than one way to the truth and 'the good', there is no way. If we doubt that, all we need do is look around.

My sympathy for the anti-creationist continues to increase. I cannot imagine living without foundation
or reference or standard. Groping for something to stand on. Everything I 'know and believe' coming out of a void or vacuum. Only knowing that if there is more than one way to the truth... there is no way.
Frightful!
Gratitude seems too weak a word to describe what
our posture should be for the privilege of receiving the revelation of God in Christ Jesus.
Pity too weak a word for those who haven't received it.

Imagine, if you will, how horrifying it would be, if the event known as 'Islamic Global Domination and the End Thereof', was not based on a true story.

It means nothing!
What could be more lamentable than that poor, hapless souls, place their eternal interests in such things. Let us mourn, rather, and not scoff.

Neither, for aught that I can see, does our Lord and Savior's name appear in this 'role'. Or is it conspicuously absent?

Thanks for getting back to me, ErnieG.

Personally, I read the KJV for the poetry and majestic flow of the language. In the same realm, Paradise Lost is also very captivating for the same reason. I also have a pretty fair library of commentaries, ancient and modern, to glean from the labors of much greater men of God than myself. When the going gets tough, I must resort to the original languages, all of which is a labor of love. It is always good to have another excellent resource that stands out. In my unsophistication, I was under the impression that everyone did this, aside of the KJV part, of course.
Thanks again, ErnieG.
And thank you, ENGINEER, for doing the homework.

Well, I must say, Jethro, hopefully in agreement with you; the minute scrutiny of our spiritual life, for the earnest Christian, in order to the suppression of any inordinate desire, lest it become realized, is an exhausting task; and never ending. Every moment of every day, whether alone or confronted by others, every thought, word, and deed is attended by the Word, Will, and Command of God. Even the slightest deviation from these, being sin, should make us all exceeding attentive. This thought always puts me in mind of the words of our Lord in Matt. 12, 'that men shall give an account of every idle word, in the Day of Judgment.' Whew! I pray for your friend's vigilance.

Jethro,

Thank you for your kind response. Your observation of my intent was very humbling. When one has been given a vision of oneself in the light of the Lord, as I have been given, one tends to look before leaping. Perhaps the pervasiveness of this issue has made us all a bit defensive.

Jethro,

I am still unable to grasp where you stand on this. I will not say you are being evasive, as I do not know your heart. There is also the chance that I am blind to your meaning and intent. For myself, I can have done with this if you said, in no uncertain terms, that you believe the sexual act (you know what I mean) between two persons of the same gender, is sinful or no. I think GK, particularly, has asked this question, plainly. If you have answered this, and I have simply missed it, please forgive my impertinence and indelicacy, for repeating it.

ErnieG,

Although I occasionally refer to other versions, the bible I read is the KJV. I am unfamiliar with Dr. Waite's work.
May I purchase this anywhere bibles are
sold?

Just to clear up a small technicality.
The Word of God does not describe all
same sex 'relationships' as sinful.
Examples of this include David and Jonathan; Jesus and His disciples. But we all know this is not what we are talking about. And there is no equivocation in the Bible about same sex sexual relationships.
I had almost said, 'enough already', that your very first statement about the marriage bed pretty much covers it all; but sadly, those looking for loopholes in Scripture, would probably find one in our country's increasing acceptance of same sex marriages.
At any rate, we all know who is responsible for this absolute chaos of thought at the very foundations of humanity. And it is not the Lord.

Do I feel silly. Here all this time, I was under the impression that our woes were brought on by the aggressively godless atmosphere in this nation; now I find out that all we really need is a few more bucks. Is my face red.
