Thanks for getting back to me, ErnieG.Personally, I read the KJV for the poetry and majestic flow of the language. In the same realm, Paradise Lost is also very captivating for the same reason. I also have a pretty fair library of commentaries, ancient and modern, to glean from the labors of much greater men of God than myself. When the going gets tough, I must resort to the original languages, all of which is a labor of love. It is always good to have another excellent resource that stands out. In my unsophistication, I was under the impression that everyone did this, aside of the KJV part, of course. Thanks again, ErnieG. And thank you, ENGINEER, for doing the homework. |

Well, I must say, Jethro, hopefully in agreement with you; the minute scrutiny of our spiritual life, for the earnest Christian, in order to the suppression of any inordinate desire, lest it become realized, is an exhausting task; and never ending. Every moment of every day, whether alone or confronted by others, every thought, word, and deed is attended by the Word, Will, and Command of God. Even the slightest deviation from these, being sin, should make us all exceeding attentive. This thought always puts me in mind of the words of our Lord in Matt. 12, 'that men shall give an account of every idle word, in the Day of Judgment.' Whew! I pray for your friend's vigilance. |

Jethro,I am still unable to grasp where you stand on this. I will not say you are being evasive, as I do not know your heart. There is also the chance that I am blind to your meaning and intent. For myself, I can have done with this if you said, in no uncertain terms, that you believe the sexual act (you know what I mean) between two persons of the same gender, is sinful or no. I think GK, particularly, has asked this question, plainly. If you have answered this, and I have simply missed it, please forgive my impertinence and indelicacy, for repeating it. |
