wonder what this might sound like, if many made this into a psalm and sung it for the masses to hear.....

comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our GOd.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: and the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. Isaiah 40

yes, Christians should have been active in all areas of public life, and it was their responsibility. however we had neopietists who insisted that their men stay on the side line and silence themselves (the 501c3 mantra, the easy believism mantra) as not to offend. how "offensive" to have a Christian mayor that fires corrupt police officers and cleans up prostitute corners and encourages legit businesses! no, we'd rather be ruled by tyranny that to speak with the wisdom that only Christ gives? (what the world desperately needs in their confusion)

so our "holy" men protected within the churches spent their time silencing and controlling men of God out in the real world, and as a result, we never actually needed the tyrants to hibernate the Christians church, we did it to each other.

may God continue to raise up a sanctified people prepared for the spiritual battle for the souls of men.

I have always found it hard to understand how the ACLU can support a perceived right of a few while trampeling on the rights of thousands and call themselves protecters of civil rights.
I'm thinking this was a rhetorical question but thought I would add this...

is there a religion behind the aclu that is explicitly antichrist?

and are we seeing the Ephesians teaching on the spiritual battle (in a nation that teaches rationalism?) -- that this is an issue of spiritual principlaties and powers that we have given power to through our institutions rather than seeing spiritual realities through the eyes of scripture (ie the idols professionalized themselves, if it was called molech and they sacrificed babies in the high place in the city in the open maybe we'd recognize it better?)

I'm perfectly fine with the day of atonement being on the "wrong day", it was set on the calendar months after early churches celebration of Christ's resurrection.

that's perfectly alright with me.

the idea of the standardized calendar is that the main points of the faith and biblical history are taught throughout the year.

I tend to go to follow teaching verse by verse and that is helpful as well for learning how to read the Word.

A shared experience is a blessing. where 2 or 3 are gathered in My Name, I am there, Christ says.

I'm personally sad to see the nativity scenes go. They represent an event in history that changed the world forever and was planned from the beginning. Emmanuel, God with us.

This is good for children to see. Instead now they are singing commnst style songs, the old words are being changed for the self to be lost in the greater good, and just the fact that Christians believe that this Christ child came is lost.

So these generations will be like the soviet children, "what is GOd? I've never heard of this."

Petrodollar, good point. however, you've challenged the official storyline and might produce some cognitive dissonance.

if one hears the gospel as was given by the Apostles and does not have the prick of heart, as we are describing conviction right now, then they can pray and ask God to open their eyes. Keep coming back to the Father and ask Him to give you the faith to believe, knowing that Christ is sure and true, and atoned for the sins of those who believe. Ask Him and trust His work, trust in His Righteousness. Repent from going your own way and ask Him to lead you and to forgive you of your sins. I have no idea what order that has to happen, just go to Him and ask, and talk to Him, He is not the enemy of the forgiven, we do not hide from Him like Adam and Eve did in the garden but rather go to Him freely.

I pray for peace for you in the Son Jesus Christ who is the Word of God.

"All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

"In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

why do you associate pietism with inaction? Not advocating pietism or inaction, but reading about the pietist movement they were the ones that were in the community making a difference. Just wondering.
please pick a name I recognize and keep it. don't you find it a bit rude to have dialogue with someone where the other cannot even tell how they've been part or not of a conversation? Can't even tell if you are a man or a woman.... I may change the letters, but you all who are regular know who I am, would you please extend that courtesy back? I need to head out, so good day.

Lurker, sorry for my slow response. this brought up more questions and I want to spare you of my questions. Acts 2 has a powerful testimony in it!
