John UK...

John 17:2 KJV
(2)  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

Jesus gives eternal life to those who were the Father's. What are you trying to say? That eternal life is limited to some? Okay.

John 17:6 KJV
(6)  I [Jesus] have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

Goes along with my last comment. They belonged to God the Father and were given to the Son. All along, they kept His word. That is why they followed the Son, because they already knew His Father.

John 17:9 KJV
(9)  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

He is praying for His disciples. Your point?

John 17:14
(14)  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

They are not of the world. Hmm, if they are not of the world that must mean the world that God loves and sent His Son to die for are unbelievers. Makes sense since believers already believe.

Acts 22:6-9 KJV
(6)  And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
(7)  And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
(8)  And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
(9)  And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
Notice that the light was Jesus of Nazareth, and the whole group saw that light and all were afraid. But the only person who heard his voice was Saul of Tarsus. Think about it.
John 1:9 does not say some light, so that is the first problem. Secondly, that doesn't mean the others never heard the preaching of the gospel or never would. Maybe all they needed to believe was the light they were shown. Whereas, Paul was the stubborn one who needed more. This just does not prove anything you have been saying. God's love, the Light, being rich in mercy, the much more than die in Adam is all just twisted and limited to maintain a man-made made-up philosophy.

Romans 6:4 KJV
(4)  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Just as Adam represented all men when he sinned and thus all had imputed guilt, so also Christ represented all the elect and thus all of them had imputed righteousness.

That's one reason you can know federal headship isn't true. If Jesus was a federal head, then when He paid for our sins everyone would be saved just like everyone would be a sinner in Adam. I never heard of the baptism into Adam. No federal headship found in scripture. That matters to some people!

Water doesn't place us in Christ. The Holy Spirit does. This verse doesn't even mention water!

1) getting all that from those two verses.
1) Good point, I didn't even think of that!

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
Ephesians 2:4‭-‬5

A) God is rich in mercy! Not poor as you would have it!

B) God loves us! Us while we were dead in our sins! As it says, "For God so loved the world..."! Amen!

C) He made us alive together with Christ! When do we enter into union with Christ? After faith when we are baptized into the body of Christ.

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:4

That means we aren't free from sin's grip and able to walk in newness of life until we have been baptized and we aren't baptized until we first believe.

But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Galatians 3:25‭-‬27

There are a whole lot of sermons in those 2 verses!

1) have I ever said that Israel cannot be a country? I simply have said that the chosen people are the elect, that means Christians.

2) Mexico is not Zion. they have a right to exist. but they are not the chosen people over the world.

3) the doctrine of election means there is a chosen group.... now that is considered satanic?
one people.
not two.

1) In fairness you haven't. Zionism though is understood to be the movement that Jews believed in to re-establish Israel in it's traditional homeland. So when you act like Zionism is a bad thing I thought you were against it.

2) Correct, Israelis are.

"For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 7:6

And remember this:

I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
Romans 11:1

3) God selects believers to be grafted into the promises of Israel. Nothing satanic about that! I was referring to your obsession with Israel over all of the other countries there are.

you present election with great clarity but it is rejected.

1) Yes, and it's name is Calvinism.

2) I'm not part of any Zionist organization. However, they can be a country like any of the others. Why are you so against people having their own country? It's weird, kind of satanic!

3) I embrace the fact that God selects believers for eternal life. Being elect is a good thing and He would have the whole world be elect if they believed.

4) If Calvinist would just listen to God's Word everything would be more clear.

1) Well John, if that were true, then God gives eternal life to those who are dead in trespasses and sins before the man even believes. Eph 2:1-7

2) Here, spiritual death is defined as:

3) And then you've got the god of this world blinding the minds of unbelievers, lest they believe. 2 Cor 4:4

1) That's why it says:

Ephesians 2:4‭-‬5

A) Sinners are eternally dead, separated from God.

B) The Gospel is preached.

C) Sinners believe.

D) God then gives to that person eternal life.

2) I believe those are the results of spiritual death, but by definition it is separation from God.

3) Satan certainly plays his part. However, the word is able to pierce through all of that.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts

What is this quickening? It is making alive, spiritually aware, giving sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf.
Interesting because by definition the word means: To give life.

Seems like that would be eternal life, no?
And eternal life is given to those who have believed. There isn't any bases for adding to the word things like spiritual awareness (comprehension?) or the healing of blindness and deafness. I know it's part of your philosophy to believe that other stuff, but the word itself only means to give life so it isn't talking about comprehension skills of any sort or have anything to do with one's vision and hearing.

When God quickens then, by definition He is giving someone eternal life for there is no other life it could be talking about. He already gave them physical life.

1) John, you are not taking into account the nature of a man that is IN ADAM, namely, guilty and dead already.

3) Ephesians 2:1 KJV
(1)  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
These verses show clearly how God saves sinners.

4) It is all about quickening.

1) Dead means unbelievers don't posses eternal life. It doesn't mean people are dead otherwise they would be unable to sin. Ever seen a dead person commit a sin?

2) Yes, people are sinners. Nothing I disagree with and nothing about God forcing someone to believe.

3) Okay, so God quickens those who believed.

4) How do you, John UK, define the word quickening?

John, maybe you could show me where in that statement I have said that God gives to sinners eternal life before they believe?
BTW you seriously make a mistake when you imagine that God is forever hoping that sinners will believe from an unregenerated heart. That is why faith itself must needs be a gift from God which he gives to the sinner. There is no effort involved, it is as simple as saying, "Thank you, Lord."
Wherever you find effort involved in gospel missions (altar calls etc.) it is because men are determined to do something towards their salvation.
Oh, okay, so we are good then. You believe the unregenerate sinner can believe? They are not quickened to life prior to believing or anything silly like that?

Oh wait..you just said God must make someone believe? So God gives them faith, meaning they have eternal life and then they believe according to the faith God has given them? None of that is scriptural, but okay! What I mean is, there are no verses that actually say God overwhelmed sinners so that they must believe. The description of faith in scripture is always the preaching of the gospel and people repenting and believing. There is no insertion of preaching, then God made them believe it, so they had faith.

""You are the one saying that men can't believe unless God first gives them eternal life."

OH REALLY??!! Care to prove that?!"

Well...you did ask!

"Now I see that you are still wanting to reverse the order in Acts 13:48, so that your belief of election being based upon man's response holds. But what you are getting wrong is your understanding of what "ordained to eternal life" means. You think it is another way of saying "saved". Wrong. It is to do with God's ordaining of future events; he decided to save certain ones, even before he made the world. "Faith" comes before salvation, and "ordaining to eternal life" comes before faith.

I never denied that Calvinists call on people to repent and believe. What I have said is, they don't believe people can believe so they wait for God to give the people a burning in the bossom so as to then do the right thing and believe. There are variations and contradictions within Calvinist thought, but that is it in a nutshell. Does this person with knowledge of Christ atomatically do the right thing and have faith while in their dead state or are they made alive proir to faith?

He gets the order of baptism and forgiveness completely wrong and has nothing to say about preaching the gospel. Rather we need our sins forgiven just as much during the course of our life, than at our first entrance into the Church. Calvin just did not get it.

And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38

Peter said to repent and then be baptized for the forgiveness of sins! Calvin just flippantly disregards that!

But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,
Hebrews 10:12

We already have our sins forgiven one time so there isn't a need to keep asking for forgiveness like at the first time we were saved.

It's hardly a strawman as I will point out to John UK. What were they cut to the heart by?

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

Even Isaiah 55:11 shows that!

John UK...

Please don't blame anyone else! You are the one saying that men can't believe unless God first gives them eternal life. That the preaching of the gospel isn't good enough alone. Right?

Excuse me for my multiple post. I was in a dead zone and lost my signal, then I drove off and I guess it registered three enters?

I agree with you and scripture on this. Nobody can save themselves in the sense of earning it or working for it. However, we can believe. So we can get ourselves saved through believing on Jesus who is the One who saves us. There is nothing more needed than the preaching of the gospel so that people may believe. Look at the day of Pentecost! The Apostles preached and then:

Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"
Acts 2:37

What do you suppose Peter said? Nothing you can do? To bad, so sad? No!

And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself." And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation."
Acts 2:38‭-‬40

You're right that nobody can save themselves in one sense, but there is something we are able t

There are none who seek after Jesus. How can they if they haven't heard about Him? That's why the gospel is so important and why it is said beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!

My point wasn't that who saves, but who can believe? You say we are saved by faith while denying people the ability to do so!

Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
Acts 16:30‭-‬31

Can you imagine if they told the jailer there is nothing you can do, sorry!?

It's easy to try to discredit other people's beliefs by looking at a few poor examples, but that doesn't really disprove anything and I'm not a dispensationalist.

John UK...

"1)You REALLY think God reveals the Light of life to everyone? 2)Do you mean every single person? That is, everyone in the world? 3)Even in those places which have no Bible and no preacher? 4)Are you taking the same place as Billy Graham who said people can be saved Christians who never heard of Jesus Christ?"

1) Yes, what do you think I have been saying?!

2) No, but yes of everyone who has reached an age of accountability.

3) But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for "Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world."
Romans 10:18

4) Noooo.

We aren't talking about Judaism. We are talking about the people from whom the Messiah came. Jesus is Jewish. You talk about the Jews who threw James off of the temple wall and ignore the Gentile crucification?

As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.
Romans 11:28
